That's just a glitch (a heavy block is pushing them down)

There are 2 different ways to unlock stuff:

- Beating single-player levels

- Buying stuff with "Boom Bux" that you get just for playing

there is another way to get the ball but it doesn't pop up 'til after you press play.

On the set Blox generator, if you knock the bunny off it a ball will pop up.

I think you might be able to turn the blox generator upside down so that it will drop the ball where you want it

Can the characters actually die in this game, or do they just wriggle around?

They don't actually disappear like in original Boom Blox.

They are invincible unless they get launched out of the level.

Just pretend they die :P
