i like the concept of the vocal rythem.

in kate bush's version the worlds sprawl and stretch out of sync almost and they did the opposite, singing them quickly and concisely and making it their own.

i do prefer kate bush's i think, though.

It's a good cover coz they gave it they own style (which can always be a risk) and they pull it off with a good sound; sure I can appreciate the emotional thing lacking but really this cover is about giving the song a fresh sound-well done.

This interpretation ,does however, have an energy and vitality that gives you a lift, but at the expense of the meaning of the song. No cover is ever better than the original, it can only add to it .The energy that this version adds , is good.

The whole pop post-punk thing was done in the early to mid 00's. It's over, and I'm glad it is, because it sucked for music. And the Futureheads happen to be a great example of this sort of indie-goes-mainstream bullshit that spawned an environment of monkey-see monkey-do for music at the time: Everyone and their mom was in a shitty little band called The Somethings, and every single one of those bands were awful.
