  • This guy, gets all the pussy

  • dudes a badass

  • When I tear into a Double Cheese burger with a thick Vanilla milk shake it's all muscle memory, my brain pattern is gulp, swallow, drink repeat. I learned how to perfect this after watching my dog eat. When I reach the end and there is nothing left, I shift into the next memory pattern, go outside, take a dump on the lawn and take a nap. my dog showed me that one too.

  • bravoo!!

  • inside his skull his brain is working very hard.

  • @kingv911

Nope, it doesn't. There is no time to think too much when playing this fast. This is all muscular memory here. On the other hand, his brain worked very hard when he was learning the piece.

  • @AhavaRabboh Isn't muscle memory controlled by a stored motor program in the brain? Only very simple reactions occur at the spinal cord level. Not to mention he's somewhat consciously aware of the constant proprioceptive and audible feedback, among other things. I think an MRI would show his brain being quite active.

  • @kingv911 almost everything about playing an instrument is muscle memory learned from lots and lots of practice. if you have ever tried to learn an instrument before you will know that you can totally and completely know how to play something but you wont be able to actually play it until your fingers can do it automatically without thinking. conscious thought can only do one thing at a time and it's just too slow.

  • @paintbokx I am aware. I play guitar. "Muscle Memory" is a misnomer, as the muscle itself doesn't have memory. Muscle memory is from a stored motor program in the brain that has developed for repetition and practice. Like rolling out of bed in the morning - you just do it - you don't think about it, but it is still your brain controlling it. Likewise, when playing an instrument, from the first day you learn a piece to the point you can play it without thing...brain controls.

  • @kingv911 play it without thinking......sorry. Typos galore.

  • 26 people can play it better

  • O RLY ?

    (HAX!)

  • impossible

  • AWE YEE SHRED FDSAFJKLDAKJSF

  • I am going to go ahead and say that any instrument is as hard as you make it. It is all preference, and they all have their differences.

  • ok now lets see him do it on guitar like jason becker

  • Oh yeah, Merry Schlo Christmas Mo.

  • Schlo Mo Ho Ho Ho.

  • what just happened?

  • @lbreakzl Well... to me, i think my skull just imploded...

  • Wonderful technique!!!

  • Wonderful technique!!!

  • Auto-Ejaculation. Period.

  • If I hadn't seen him play, I would have said his fingers aren't long enough. I was wrong.

  • @Lassannn lassann is a faggot, lowclass fuck, racist fuck and clearly a coward.

  • Get it? Shlow-mo but he's faster than lightning !! I so funny :-{D

  • Shlomo is the Hebrew form of Solomon.

  • hermosoooo

  • I love grapes so much! They are quaint and frosted like a tree trunk!

  • orgasm...

  • Comment removed

  • i quit.

  • I don't understand why people try to play a violin piece on guitar, I'm not saying that you can't, but obviously, since it was written for violin it's going to be easier for a violin to play than a guitar.

  • @Madog98 What is there to understand? If someone plays only one instrument (in this case guitar) why wouldn't he try to play a violin/cello/piano/... piece on it? It's still easier than start to play a new instrument completely from the beginning..

  • Do I detect a little steve vai on the movie Cross Roads? LOL

  • I was going to say 22 people cant play this.... But then i realized, only 22 can.

  • A best.

  • Does anyone know the tempo he is playing at?

  • Stravinsky Petrushka, can you play with Iz.Pearlman,Vengelov Low ,Center ,High ,with decoration parts in this music as new model way as siper higher supecial music,in 3 hands or 4 hands with fame holder of S.H. or Von or super fame name as Isac Perman or Kissin wiht HiRKt .

Csual version with super ability holders, Steve Vai Vs Van Halen ,Aleks Veksler or Jessie L of guiter by 2 guiter hand and 2 violin in ths for Superior super stars making music with my art promoting ideas

  • vorrei sentire questo capriccio da quei 22 coglioni che non è piaciuto come l'ha suonato Mintz.......

  • Comment removed

  • No way! BRAVO!!!

  • Youtube added reply button, I'll rape it lol.

  • 22 people are insane

  • This is the definitive best version of Paganini's Caprice No 5 there is in all youtube.

  • @Reymei Yeah it's like he wrote it himself or something.

  • @daflowerbomb I just listen to him wow is really impressive, plays the song defiantly faster than Shlomo. I still prefer this version i think is better paced.

  • @Reymei have you heard him playing sibelius concerto m3? it's awesome!

  • @Reymei Mintz is great, but listen to the video of Kavakos playing that... If you haven't seen it, your mind will be blown. Maybe it will if you have already seen it too.

  • he looks like the ginger in revenge of the nerds who plays the electric violin

  • Psssh, this is not that hard. I want to see him play it behind his back.

  • ironical that his first name is Shlo-mo.

    haha. ha. hmm.

  • @DerBayer1843 Shlomo is the Hebrew, original form of Solomon, nothing ironical with that

  • @JohnnyCBCS You guys should have at least stolen a country with a sense of humor

  • @SadisticMagician54 i'm not Jewish, just got some biblical instruction. but i don't think Israel was stolen from anybody, history proves it otherwise.

  • nothing to do here :3

  • Conosciuto x caso imbarcando un ryan palermo. E' stato un gran piacere sig. Mintz!

  • Virtuous would be an understatement.

  • I did that once....... but then I woke up

  • Marvellous. Thanks for sharing.

  • And thought it was hard on guitar(I didnt, its actually very easy).

  • So basically Paganini was like the Steve Vai of violin, in other words, an exception.

  • @salasvalor01 quite so '

  • @salasvalor01

More like Shawn Lane or Guthrie Govan, Jason Becker... Steve Vai is great but... Paganini was HUGE! like planet Earth compared to the whole Universe.

  • @SEVENTHSON89 I think it was perfect the way I said it. To say Steve Vai is not unparalleled and not ultimate as a musician (as far as human skill in the past) is something everyone who extensively understands Vai's talent can completely disagree with ;)

  • Seems these video recordings are obviously not a live recording but a playback to the studio recordings on the published album ?

  • I just pants my pooped.

  • I wonder...do you have to be some kind of prodigy to play like this guy? Or some extraordinary talent? Just so I don't get my hopes up...

  • @MrStealthNacho Well, from playing violin 7 years, yes you have to be extraordinarily good. I mean this video is pretty much as advanced and as hard as any violin piece will ever be. Don't expect to play like this if you don't want to spend years (10-20) of hard hard work to play this

  • @MrStealthNacho usually its prodigies that write the stuff so unless you want to work hard then you wont have a chance cuz even prodigies need to practice to play this stuff

  • violin hero 3!

  • so he's a violin shreadder of some sort?

  • Amazing! It's doesn't seem humanly possible. Yet...here it is! This is the BEST performance I've heard with respect to this composition. Wow! BRAVO! BRAVO!

  • "Sorry ladies but this guy's not very good in the sack. But wait'll see what his fingers can do."

  • third day practicing this piece..... fuck

  • @Strife153 poof sanity

  • I have a friend who is 16 years old he has been playing violin since he was 5 he has almost learned this song if you see this live man its really awesome PS i listen to metal so for me to like this thing it is something great

  • As a violinist, I'd just like to say, "Holy crap!"

  • Step 1: Get the sheet music for this.

Step 2: Realize it's way too hard.

    Step 3: Sleep.

  • @skatenec hahahahahahahahahahahah u made my day with that comment xD!!!!

  • @skatenec It's the best way :)

  • Step 4: Hang yourself

  • @skatenec

step 4: Live for the rest of your life as a failure because you gave up.

  • @Escatrax Or Step 4: Pick the etude back up later when you've reached the level ;)

  • a monster

  • The high pitched notes in the beginning must've burst a coupla' capillaries in his ears dayum

  • I don't know how he doesn't pass out doing this...

  • Malmsteen performs this on guitar better than anyone. Becker's video for this aint bad but Yngwie plays it cleaner and faster. I seen him do it live in 2008.

  • @KetamineAddict I respect Yngwei but faster doesn't mean better! Violin still remains the most difficult instrument to play...and to play like in this video requires enormous talent and countless hours of practice!

  • The word virtuoso doesn't describe Shlomo Mintz well enough for how excellent this was performed.

  • this is the original version on the violin ive only seen the guitar version before and i prefer the guitar version not the steve vai one but jason beckers version its the full version and is unbelieveable jason becker beats everyone even in his ill state hes still cool

  • Epicness!!!

  • its even harder on the guitar. check it out, Steve Vai Eugenes Trickbag

  • @polarisracer41 Im a guitarist but your sadly mistaken if you think this is harder on guitar. Trust me violin is a million times harder then guitar

  • Comment removed

  • @GurleyPlaysGuitar That guitar as an instrument is much easier than the violin, there is no comparing the two.

  • @GurleyPlaysGuitar Generally I agree, but you are forgetting something. Violin pieces are harder to play on guitar then on Violin and that's mainly because of the tuning (violin is tuned in fifths, guitar in forths exepct the 2nd string) which makes the fingering in some cases quite impossible or at least "exotic" (here I'm referring especailly on the acoustic or classical guitar). Second, the intervals (looking horizontally) on the violin strings are also much closer, etc.Running out of txt here

  • @AhavaRabboh have you ever try to play something on violin?? the right hand is as hard as the left hand, I mean the bow is as hard as the notes, in guitar you only do a movement of you finger (hard, soft, whatever) and thats it, you're forgetting the bow, violin pieces are harder in violin than in guitar, I play both (at least I try to haha)

  • @firesick1 No, I didn't. But, try to play for example BWV 1006 (Prelude) on the acoustic with a pick and at the original tempo; you will see what I mean. Take a look for example to the BWv 1004 (gigue) that Paul Gilbert covered on his last record. On some parts of this video /watch?v=UGedLS7gcT0 He's doing some errors and I never saw Paul GIlbert miss a note until this! I'm not saying that viloin is easy; I'm not so naive to think that. On the contrary, I believe that violin is harder than...

  • @firesick1 guitar, but I'm just saying that I think some violin pieces are harder to play on guitar then on violin itself, mainly beacuse of the reasons I wrote in the previous post.

  • @AhavaRabboh

Totally agreed. I played guitar for 4 years and violin for about 16 or so. That's a stupid comparison: which instrument is harder? Violinists say "we don't have frets!" - well, that's amazing, I actually played fretless guitar. Nothing special when you already know where to put your fingers. Etc, etc. I can play caprice 5 and 24 on guitar and violin - and I would say both are bit easier on violin but that's just me. Fast sweeping and alternate picking has pwned violin version IMO.

  • @AhavaRabboh what about lack of frets on violin? impossible to get it cleanly

  • @guitarfreak23397 Well, obviously it is possible. I just don't agree with some people who are saying that violin is milion times harder than guitar; that's not true. Probably a little harder, yes, but milion times definitely not. I think that because guitar is so popular this days, that makes everybody think that guitar is so easy to play. On the other hand, violin is somehow mystical and rarely heard among the mass and that's why people think that violin is hard to play compare to the guitar..

  • @AhavaRabboh well did you try to play violin?

  • @guitarfreak23397 No, but I would love to..

  • @AhavaRabboh the guitar has also too many inversions to play chords. The violin doesnt have that many. Every instrument is hard if it wants to be played well really.

  • @pilotoatomico guitar has too many inversions to play chords?what should i say? i play piano for 8 years. and guitar for 2.

  • @guitarfreak23397 There are tons of possibilities to play something on the guitar, that's why its hard

  • @guitarfreak23397

I just said about it in the post below. If the dificulty of violin for you is only about no frets, then there is no difficulty at all. It's just about the more time you have to spend to LEARN how to play it. Like I said, I've played violin for 16 and guitar for about 4 years AND I also played fretless one.You know, there is the time when you just don't have to look at your fretboard and that's when it actually starts not to make that huge difference for u :)

  • @guitarfreak23397

And yes, violin is harder than guitar, for sure, but not MILION TIMES. If you learn theory and focus on ear training (which are both fundamental for EVERY instrument), then the difference between instruments is only about the technique of playing and its difficulty. And at this point, like I said, no frets would be a difficulty in violin, but fast alternate picking, tremolo picking, sweep picking, tapping, string skipping - there's a guitar difficulty.

  • @GurleyPlaysGuitar it depends on what you do. for example arpeggios are generally easier on the piano than on the guitar. there are tons of examples but it really doesnt matter since this is music and not a competition

  • Respond to this video... plus steve vai's version is only the beginning part

  • @polarisracer41 guitar=easy xd violin its waaaay harder

  • jjjjeeeeeeeewwwwwwwiiiiiiiisssssshhhhhh

  • I think if he played this at one BPM faster.....he would just split an atom and kill us all. lol

  • Shlomo Mimtz is still one of the best violinists of our time and this video proofs it

  • Is it just me or the video is lagging like hell? MY COMPUTER CAN'T TAKE THE EPICNESS.

  • amazing....better than vais rendition, i love vai tho

  • lol how many year takes to make that!!!!

  • this song should be renamed: " a day with my 3 year old " LOL

  • almost peed my pants when I saw the music in the beginning

  • Perfect !

  • Is that Joey from Full House or Mike that 90' comedian?

  • too many notes...

  • @rustyhcarroll Well, there it is.

  • Sometimes I believe God exists.

  • He looks like he's having some kind of heart attack...

  • incredible

  • slowly, slightly faster, slightly faster... rinse and repeat x1000.

  • going to hell

  • >0<that is my face when i saw the score to this piece

  • that was the first thing i learned on violin. i got bored and went to the cello

  • Absolutely everything is possible with God.

  • Most of the time, he's putting on the same face I am.

    Surprise. O_O

  • holycow!!!

  • Holy Shit!!

  • It appears that Shlomo...

    *Puts on glasses*

    Was no Shlo-poke.

    YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!

  • SUDDENLY

    multiple camera angles

  • Oh My Lord. Fu--ing Awesome

  • mierdaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • he looks like Tommy Gun from Rocky 5

  • The sheet music is terrifying.

  • Holy Shit...

  • that violin is honored to be played by such a talented musician

  • Devilish

  • That.Is.Crazy.

    Crazy amazing!

  • I'm always amazed by Shlomo.

  • Inspiring!

  • I can't believe there was no one in the room to applaud at the end of it! I did count his fingers and he does have the same amount as the rest of us, bloody amazing! But then again Paganini was no ordinary musician either.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!

  • are u human?

  • omfg :OOO

  • Its very good!

    Congratulations!

See my video, im beginning in the violin.

    My name is Radan Abdu

  • He must go through a lot of rosin.

  • I'm a metalhead but i love this video ;D

  • gives me the goosebumps! omgg!

  • just because of paganini i wanna learn to play violin

  • @YouWillDieOfHiccup u can play it on any other string instrument. sounds cool on guitar with a metal sound

  • @lleo11 yeah i know but i like how its played in the violin xd

  • @MrBillie310 that cracked me up omg. so true.

  • continued..playing the tenor sax, and I mean playing exactly the same music in exactly the same way, except of course he would have to lay down a second track to cope with double stopping on a single line instrument and use his super technique to pull it off convicingly artistically.I am no genius but I think that his highest note is four octaves above middleC and if so that is the same as the highest note I have heard a tenor sax play except that the tenor has a bigger more defined note up there

  • This is the best command of the violin that I have heard to date by quite a margin, especially the sheer projection, resonance, richness of harmonics, and completeness of the sound not to mention the warmth as well, and this is only the sound, technically, although not nearly so important to myself personally, one can forgive a lot if the sound is larger than life, but in this case the sound and the technique are evenly matched like everything else. I would love to see, Shlomo get as excited about

  • i am wishing to marry this man

  • this must be the cleanest and fastest version I've ever seen of this piece.

  • i've just shitt my pants

  • "Paganini is said to have been able to play it on one string, but there is no evidence to support or refute this." - as quoted from the Wikipedia article about Paganini's 5th Caprice. I guess that man was just that monstrous, even being able to play such a piece as technique-requiring as this one on just one string. o.O

  • @TeagueSparrow91 ...if the violin didn't want it....why was she dressed like that?

  • Il miglior violinista di tutti i tempi

  • woooow that was fuckin crazy. fuck i wish i had a violin

  • He is NOT human. Just too great.

  • this song is like the "fury of the storm" of violin

  • Wow! I have got to start taking lessons again! :)

  • You looks not good.

    Playing...well.
