This is partly a result of UCLA's utter frustration over the last decade of so against hated rival USC. In 1991, the Bruins began a stretch of 8 straight wins against SC. No team has won that many consecutive games in the rivalry. Then, in '99 SC broke the streak & began one of their own (7) which only ended in '06. Also, UCLA was absolutely humiliated in many of those losses ('01, '02, '03, '05) & have been convincingly defeated in '07, '08 & '09. Neuheisel CHOSE to continue playing. So did SC!
