  • i hope your dumbass doesnt do this as a profession b/c you will not be successful. excuse my language but youre a prick you fucking joke.

  • very sloppy throwing. not a good video to watch.

  • There is nothing traditional nor Japanese about this video.

  • "a couple weeks in an anagama" hahaha man i would never let this guy near a kiln, he would probably "rip it up"

  • ugh, terrible

  • he's a jewish tea master

  • Japanese pottery?? Really? I hope a master potter from Japan comes and slaps you upside the head with clay. It's about sitting and relaxingly throwing the clay and what you make is what you make... Not "ripping" the clay.

  • i hope this is a joke

  • what the heck was that actually supposed to be lol

  • Sloppy?

  • OMG Epic Fail.

  • yeah so normally i start with 10 pounds to make a tea cup and then i trim of 5 ponds unevenly thats a fucking gorgeous pot look at that master bitches

  • the camera man was laughing

  • body what are you doing?

  • so how much did you pay them to get your video on here?

  • i think japan has shun you from their lands

  • awful

  • Total Freedom!! I love it.

  • ahaha this guy is a joke obviously an amture i could throw better then him and im 15!

    Lip=way to thick

he talks way to much dosnt enven know how to throw most potters are quiet and do precies throwing and take time.

and the marks on the outside its like a road in the country side so rouch texture and no smoothness.

    FAIL.

  • this guy has to be one of the worst potters i have ever seen, his tea bowls probably weigh about 35lbs hahaha look how thick that shit is HAHAHA what a joke, he thinks he is so pro at throwing. i dont even know why he bothered buying a wheel

  • this video is hilarious. some of the funniest commentary I've seen in a pottery video. the fact is, 50% of all the pottery that's out there is no better than this. this guy probably sells tons of shit.

  • umm REAL EXPERTS will say wat the f*** if they see this

  • this makes baby hamada cry :(

  • Comment removed

  • wtf ? this guy shouldnt be teaching.

  • Looks more like a Voulkos bowl than a Japanese tea bowl.

  • say what?

    what the heck is this

  • Total joke. I can't believe this guy got on expertvillage! :O

And yeah, it'll take a couple weeks to fire in that anagama for sure, he'd have to go up 10 degrees an hour for it not to explode! hahaha

  • try Cory Lum's video on tea bowls. I also have a tea bowl video. I am not an "expert", however.

  • This is not a good video to learn from. I appreciate that the guy wants to share his art with the world. However, this pot was poorly made and would not be very functional. I suggest looking elsewhere for training videos.

  • This is not a good instructional video for traditional Japanese ceramics. It isn't traditional in any way. I have watched masters throw and this isn't even close. The lip of the cup alone makes this piece unusable. There are probably some other videos here on youtube with better information. Keep searching.

  • This guy is a joke "rip it" what a load of HORSES***T

    He is a total amateur.

Master potters would unconsciously throw and be totally in tune with the clay.

Also the lip would be too thick to comfortably drink out of for sure.

He is no expert people like this wind me up!

  • yes, i agree with adam

  • I can tell this guy is professional. And for people who don't really understand ceramics art, don't event leave negative comments.

  • whats with all of the ripping

i am a trade potter and have met afew japanese masters

    and watched them work

they do take care to center before taking the clay off center and opening but not ripping

i watched an old man spend half an hour adding and removing clay to a teabowl and letting it flow

    please people

do your homework before making vids

  • Hi. These look like good enough instructional videos, but could you number them please?

  • Why all the negative comments? Here someone is sharing their knowledge for probably little or no pay and all you people do is criticize. Get a life.

  • this is your own personal style/twist on Japanese teabowls. However you should not be claiming that this is Traditional Japanese teabowl throwing. part of that tradition is thta the clay forms into a teabowl somewhat naturally with very little influence from the potter, you have a very contradictory take on this style of pottery. Don't get me wrong I have respect for what your doing you really should call it traditional japanese pottery though, Sorry.

  • meant to say at should not call it that

  • You people are just filling Youtube with absolute crap like this so that you can get some more rubbish videos to add Google Ads to.

You are a frigging joke !!!!

Get a job ??? Mind you you are so talentless what job could you do ???

  • You couldn't throw up properly never mind throw a decent pot !!!!

    Expert Village ?????

Your Village must be full of Village Idiots if this is anything to go by !!

  • Traditional Japanese Pottery?? By a young, modern, American guy? Time to re-read Rumplestiltskin...

  • i think he is going for the brutish look, it gives it an old, primitive look.

  • he shouldnt have to sacrifice quality for a certain looke couldve made the same pot withe 1/4 the clay

  • i made something better the first time i was on the wheel... very sloppy

  • sorry to be rude, but you're not that great...or good

  • thats rough as guts
