I'm liberal been that way past 45 years, What most of the angry left must relized it's the system, and the money that influences it. This is the close's we've come in my lifetime. Let's take this and move on for a better system. Hang in there friends. The optimistic liberal.
i'm not liberal or conservative, those terms box you into neat little categories that fortunately don't apply to me. i've been voting for less than 15 years (voted obama) and i'm happy to say i'm done with voting.
dems/repubs are the same party, they just put on a show for you when the cameras are around. they all want the same thing, more money and power for themselves.
this government is bought and paid for, the purpose of voting is only to give you the illusion of choice.
Most of the middle-class people who have insurance get it as part of their pay package. So they think of "Insurance" as "a partially subsidized benefit". But all the people who don't have insurance- working or not- see it more realistically as "an expense"... which it is. If "We" could be honest about this, we would agree to a raise in taxes to pay for EVERYONE. But wealthy people realize that they'd be paying more, for something that they already have- & middle-class thinks that's Them, too.
I can't believe what I just heard: "We are essentially a Libertarian country." ~ Howard Dean
I smell a ROTTEN AGENDA brewing here (can you say "Ron Paul 2012"??)
Leave the Democratic Party NOW, People.
If you want to talk about Libertarianism and giving people *A CHOICE* you can omit all language from the bill that REQUIRES people to buy private insurance in the first place.
Where's our choice to SAY NO to private insurance? So much for the "freedom of the individual".
Campaign Finance isn't the worst problem in need of fixing, but it's the 'first' problem.
Dean's working within a corrupt system...and hated within it as a heretic and a crazy. But even so, corrupted systems generate, even at best, corrupted solutions.
Yeah, its sad to see ole Howard Dean falling in with the rest of the sellouts in Congress.
All three people who spoke up had great points. And if you listen carefully, Dean did not have a direct rebuttal for the comments. He could only repeat what he'd been told to say.
I'm glad to see these corrupt politicians are being shown for what they are!

Good stuff.
Reminds me of Larry Lessig's slogan:
Campaign Finance isn't the worst problem in need of fixing, but it's the 'first' problem.
