If the Fed comes to an end, expect a couple of tough months, maybe a year or two. It will feel like a drug withdrawal, But the country will be a lot better after, because it will put breaks on the expansion of government. The drug war would have to come to an end, foreign policy will have to rely on trade & diplomacy rather than preemptive war, Govt programs will go underfunded and die. It will be tough, but the end results would be a more unified country.

I prefer our 7 stalwart public servants at the Fed (only 5 of those seats are filled at the moment.) controlling 'our money' instead of those evil 'private bankers.'
It's either the 5 public servants at the Fed appointed by our elected representatives controlling 'our money' or the Ron Pall way of those 5 evil TBTF 'private bankers' controlling 'our money.'
You and Ron Pall want us enslaved to those 5 evil TBTF 'private bankers.'
Wow... took you a while to come up with some kind of response. I'm laughing right now. Paul wants to dismantle the banking cartel. He's been saying that for 30 years.
Sorry you fell so publically embarrassed. Maybe the next time before you decide to open your mouth you should actually know what you're talking about.
The 'banking cartel' dismantled itself because of the Libertarian laissez-faire regulatory policies at the Fed.
After Lehman fell, Hank Paulson was trying to sell Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to the Chinese and the Japanese because Citibank and JPMorgan Chase didn't want them.
If you knew anything about the history of the Fed, who's behind it, and what it does, you'd realized all of this garble you're throwing out means nothing.
Seriously: I can tell you've fell threatened in some way. Until you read this book, a book called The Creature From Jekyll Island, & a book called Secrets Of The Temple, stop trying to respond. You're embarrassing yourself here.
If you haven't already, pick up a copy of "Meltdown" by Thomas E Woods. He makes really good sense, and explains things so the layman (like myself) can easily understand. We're going to need to understand this stuff because we first have to change the hearts & minds of the American people.
The Fed proved to be the most Libertarian element of the federal government.
Why would anyone want to do away with the one element of the Federal govt. that's libertarian?
If not for the Fed's Ayn Randian anarcho-libertarian/capitalism regulatory policy during the housing bubble, the private bankers would have been prevented from destroying themselves with their CDSs and CDOs.
The Fed did more to humble "private bankers" than any other part of the govt.
"The Fed proved to be the most Libertarian element of the federal government."
Please explain what's "libertarian" about a government-created monstrosity that possesses a monopoly status of being the only banking organization whose certificates are the only ones one can use, by law, to pay debts and taxes.
".. Fed's Ayn Randian anarcho-libertarian/capitalism regulatory policy during the housing bubble.."
The Fed set the platform for that bubble to occur.
You need to read this book. Also a book called "Secrets Of The Temple", and "The Creature From Jekyll Island."
There is positively nothing "libertarian" about the Fed. They create booms & busts in the business cycles, debase the buying power of the paper in your wallet, and serve as a catalyst for war through inflationary power.
"I am so far above you intellectually, it's comical."
Did I somehow touch a nerve with you or are you really that insecure? "Securitization"? If Bernake (or Greenspan for that matter) were libertarian they would set & maintain low interest rates and fix prices (creating your "securitiazion" theory here). They would let supply & demand of the people determine that. And why aren't you mentioning Fannie & Freddie who bought those toxic mortages then were bailed out for there bad decision?
A second mortgage securitization bubble, the 1 that killed Wall Street, formed outside of the GSEs in the mid 2000s and grew bigger than the GSEs securitization bubble.
It was controlled by the 'Shadow Banking System' - outside the Fed's monetary policy but inside the Fed's regulatory policy of Bank Holding Companies.
It was left completely unregulated by the Fed and was fuel by the foreign savings glut.
Tell me: explain what free market competition is, how it's supposed to work, & what the gov't role in it is. Tell me how the "Housing Re-investment Act" actually didn't contribute to the bursting of the bubble and how all of those double-backed securities actually WEREN'T toxic, there by allowing all of the regulation that WAS actually instrumented NOT contribute to this crisis? Tell me, how did this not prompt moral hazard in this awful free market that gives the consumer the power to go wild?
Gonna go get the book today! The FED must be stopped!! Demand EVERY congressmen support HR 1207 or we WILL vote them out of office!! God Bless you Ron !
The Fed is owned and controlled by a small group of dominant international bankers, ie: the Rothschilds, Morgans, and Rockefeller's Standard Oil interests.
A central bank like this (or the European Central Bank) issues, controls, and prints all the money in circulation. They control inflation. The Federal Reserve is the sole dominant factor in the US Economy.
Ending the Fed, replaced by central bank of congress, would mean ending the crisis.
The Constitution grants the power, and responsibility, of coining money to the Congress:
"To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;" --Article 1, Section 8, Clause 5, U.S. Constitution.
It's hard to describe in so few characters, but coining and establishing currency should be under the supposedly accountable preview of government, not handed off to select few.
Maybe the use of gold in our own communities would be best
And if the existence of a central bank is inevitable, it should be in the hands of the people (through the electoral process) in stead of in the hands of some Rothschild, Morgan or Rockefeller..

Anyone who cares about the poor and the middle class needs to understand how the Federal Reserve transfers money and power from the all of us to the wealthy elite, not directly through taxation obviously, but through inflation and the destruction of our money. End the Fed now!
Everyone know the reason why the poor and middle class are hurting is because we don't tax the rich 200% of their earnings. Don't you watch CNN, MSNBC, and CBS or do you need to be sent to a re-education camp?
First candidate I ever donated to. Registered Republican in NY to vote for him. Can anyone speak to how the book (I'll pick up my copy today) relates to the first half of Zeitgeist:Addendum, i.e. fractional reserve lending? I see that Vince Vaughn is telling people to read it... can't hurt.
Also, the Fed's selling off of treasuries and purchasing of who the f*ck knows what in the last year and a half...the book get into that?
Haven't read the book yet, but you can be certain that it will deal with fractional reserve banking at length, as well as printing money to buy treasury bonds (something the Chinese have recently voiced alarm about). I'm certain also that he'll talk about what the Fed will have to do with the bonds they are buying, and the dilemma that presents. Enjoy!
Ok and if you believe that I have a bridge I could sell located in the AZ desert too. Check out the label on the front of Ketchup - the far right corner of the label it should be a K or a U with a circle around it.
I never said the ketchup wasn't Kosher...I said there's no such thing as the "Kosher Tax." Just because there's a little symbol on the ketchup doesn't mean there's a tax associated with it. If there was, it would be on the receipt. Not only that, but various reliable sources prove that the tax is a myth, spread by prejudice groups.

I'm a 20yr old student doing physics research at the school who lives at home and is completly financially dependant on my mom. Plus i need that money to help pay tuition and buy books" And they just take it, it totally sucks
God I love this man. People's anger at what they perceive as a failure of capitalism is misplaced. The Fed has systematically and maliciously undermined the opportunities presented to every American by the free market.
Who cares if they are Jewish or not, that has absolutely nothing to do with the effect of the Fed on the economy. Instead of focusing on the religious/cultural background of members of the Fed, you should focus on how we should change economic policy to prevent poor decision-making.
You're 19, you believe all the crap from TV, movies, and your liberal teachers. You don't know that jews run Hollywood, the media, and large parts of banking and the legal profession, because none of those numbnuts told you about it. Stop regurgitating the garbage you're told and look around.
I didn't LEARN from TV, or movies, or "liberal teachers." I learned from reading facts--not from prejudices. Whether or not financial institutions are primarily run by Jews, that doesn't mean you should hate Jews, it means you should hate the financial institutions causing the problems. Not every person in the world with power is a Jew, and not every Jew is manipulating the government. Therein lies the problem--you should be focusing on the institutions that are causing the problem
Instead of bringing my age into this, you could try facts. US interest in Israel is the same as US interest in every other country we shouldn't be in--it's our interventionist foreign policy, a policy not originally established by the constitution (hence the term "policing the world"). I'm definitely not a "know-it-all kid," and I'm not claiming to be. I'm just not prejudice, and I base my arguments on rationality. I highly doubt any congressman or Fed chairman sees me as cattle.
No, the JOOS see you as cattle. They are Supremacists, something I know you've been trained to despise. And why do we "police" Israel to, I believe, $9 billion a year now? Second only to Egypt? What is our vital national interest? I'll tell you; the Jews control our government. Start looking for jewish influence, and you will be amazed that it is EVERYWHERE. And they are less than 2% of our population! Lastly, find me a 30, 40, or 50 year old who says he knew jack when was 19, lol.
I actually did some research and found that within the top 20 most powerful people in the world, only 3 are Jewish, with a greater majority being Roman Catholic, Christian, and Hindu. Also, looking at the top 20 richest people, only 4 are Jewish, once again being beaten by Roman Catholicism. Many of these people are even pro-nazi, such as Ingvar Kamprad (founder of IKEA). And of course most 30 year olds will say they knew nothing when they were 19, because MOST 19 year olds don't--or adults.
While your at it look up the "Kosher Tax" Yep - certain food like Heinz Ketchup and Kraft Mayo for example - when purchased we get extra taxed and that money goes to a Rabbi that supposedly prayed over freakin' tomatoes. Which I find highly offensive because I am not Jewish. Could you imagine the uproar if we had a Pope Tax for certain food! Don't take my word for it - LOOK IT UP!
OK, so their bible says we're cattle. That means they are in charge of the world? And the Kosher Tax affects Jews more than anyone else. If your religion causes you to eat Kosher (like the Jewish religion), then you are going to pay the tax. If you aren't Jewish, then don't BUY Kosher, then you won't pay the tax.
On further note, AND upon individual investigation, I've found that the so-called "Kosher Tax" is a myth perpetrated by antisemitic/prejudice organizations. So to quote yourself, LOOK IT UP, it's not real.
I have looked it up and it's real. But believe what you will. Deception is all around us and it is a no wonder Americans are so damn naive and lack knowledge and wonder why the rest of the world thinks that!
I think all of CON-gress and the current Bozo in the white house should be given a copy and forced to read it! Ya think. Highly unlikely considering they don't even read the bills they sign!
I LOVE YOU RON PAUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so far above you intellectually, it's comical.
What a doofus you are.
Everything I said was exactly true.
The Fed Chairman encouraged CDO, CDS derivatives. securitization and subprime lending from his deep libertarian belief in the free market.
There was nothing in the government more libertarian during the housing bubble than the Fed.
The reality is that "Liberty and the Free Market" was a bigger factor in the financial meltdown than the Fed's monetary policy.

Also, the Fed's selling off of treasuries and purchasing of who the f*ck knows what in the last year and a half...the book get into that?
Debt=Slavery

Enjoy!

But it doesn't exist, it's a myth. There's no such thing as a "Kosher Tax."

Ok and if you believe that I have a bridge I could sell located in the AZ desert too. Check out the label on the front of Ketchup - the far right corner of the label it should be a K or a U with a circle around it.
GlobalMinority 2 years ago
I never said the ketchup wasn't Kosher...I said there's no such thing as the "Kosher Tax." Just because there's a little symbol on the ketchup doesn't mean there's a tax associated with it. If there was, it would be on the receipt. Not only that, but various reliable sources prove that the tax is a myth, spread by prejudice groups.

I gotta try to get this book, but I'm pretty broke =/
I did physics research this summer at my school and got paid, and the bastard gov stole like 23% of my check. I was like "C'MON!!!

I finished reading my copy of End The Fed today; all 212 pages (including reading list).
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED READING END THE FED AND RECOMMEND IT TO ALL ENGLISH SPEAKING HUMANS, ESPECIALLY AMERICANS!!!

Stop regurgitating the garbage you're told and look around.
johnnyharpe 2 years ago
I didn't LEARN from TV, or movies, or "liberal teachers." I learned from reading facts--not from prejudices. Whether or not financial institutions are primarily run by Jews, that doesn't mean you should hate Jews, it means you should hate the financial institutions causing the problems. Not every person in the world with power is a Jew, and not every Jew is manipulating the government. Therein lies the problem--you should be focusing on the institutions that are causing the problem

Spoken like a know-it-all kid. The joos sure don't look at YOU as equal to them, dummy. They think you're "goyem", the cattle.
johnnyharpe 2 years ago
btw, what is the vital US interest in Israel? Why do we give them billions of dollars, jets, and nukes?
johnnyharpe 2 years ago
Instead of bringing my age into this, you could try facts. US interest in Israel is the same as US interest in every other country we shouldn't be in--it's our interventionist foreign policy, a policy not originally established by the constitution (hence the term "policing the world"). I'm definitely not a "know-it-all kid," and I'm not claiming to be. I'm just not prejudice, and I base my arguments on rationality. I highly doubt any congressman or Fed chairman sees me as cattle.
tfdood 2 years ago
No, the JOOS see you as cattle. They are Supremacists, something I know you've been trained to despise. And why do we "police" Israel to, I believe, $9 billion a year now? Second only to Egypt? What is our vital national interest? I'll tell you; the Jews control our government. Start looking for jewish influence, and you will be amazed that it is EVERYWHERE. And they are less than 2% of our population! Lastly, find me a 30, 40, or 50 year old who says he knew jack when was 19, lol.
johnnyharpe 2 years ago
I actually did some research and found that within the top 20 most powerful people in the world, only 3 are Jewish, with a greater majority being Roman Catholic, Christian, and Hindu. Also, looking at the top 20 richest people, only 4 are Jewish, once again being beaten by Roman Catholicism. Many of these people are even pro-nazi, such as Ingvar Kamprad (founder of IKEA). And of course most 30 year olds will say they knew nothing when they were 19, because MOST 19 year olds don't--or adults.
tfdood 2 years ago
Go read the Talmud - they think you are cattle - don't take my word for it - do your own research on the issue.
GlobalMinority 2 years ago
While your at it look up the "Kosher Tax" Yep - certain food like Heinz Ketchup and Kraft Mayo for example - when purchased we get extra taxed and that money goes to a Rabbi that supposedly prayed over freakin' tomatoes. Which I find highly offensive because I am not Jewish. Could you imagine the uproar if we had a Pope Tax for certain food! Don't take my word for it - LOOK IT UP!
GlobalMinority 2 years ago
OK, so their bible says we're cattle. That means they are in charge of the world? And the Kosher Tax affects Jews more than anyone else. If your religion causes you to eat Kosher (like the Jewish religion), then you are going to pay the tax. If you aren't Jewish, then don't BUY Kosher, then you won't pay the tax.
tfdood 2 years ago
On further note, AND upon individual investigation, I've found that the so-called "Kosher Tax" is a myth perpetrated by antisemitic/prejudice organizations. So to quote yourself, LOOK IT UP, it's not real.
tfdood 2 years ago
I have looked it up and it's real. But believe what you will. Deception is all around us and it is a no wonder Americans are so damn naive and lack knowledge and wonder why the rest of the world thinks that!
