I would like to talk with someone in your organization on using this technology for "swarm missile defence" targeting instantly the closest incoming missiles first, creating a cloud of debris, which the next wave of incoming projectiles could hit and detonate, then acquisitioning the next wave, this would allow the greatest odds of survival.
@LanceWinslow5 I think you would use tried and tested depth acquisition methods; for your application I think a laser/Lidar methods might be better - cost isn't really an issue for you. The CoDAC method doesn't currently support curved surfaces - and is really for mass, low cost applications. Contact your local university, sure they can help.
This is quite an elegantly clever jump from present day tech. Im amazed and impressed. Well done! And superlative no-holds-barred presentation! So glad to be in the 21st century :D
It is interesting idea. But what about scanning of transparent objects?

Very interesting. Well done. Techniques like this will eventually do away with the need to use two two cameras for stereo 3D production.
But why does the SLM need to use a random pattern..?
