  • I don't live in Venezuela, nor have I ever lived in the country previously. But seriously? All this talk about President Chavez...I was beginning to think this was a political debate...

  • @AHR1228 sorry, you are right we stop it now. Now to talk about performance:

This is my favorite youtube performance of danzon no 2. And I cannot tell if the wind instruments sound at 14:37 is a small mistake, since I never heard it in other interpretations, but it sounds nice. I wish I was there

I was lucky enough to watch a sbo performance featuring Danzon No. 2 in Fesnojiv facilities when the concert hall was innagurated privately :)

  • Wow. These high schoolers are incredible musicians!

  • El Danzon de Arturo Marquez es INCREIBLE! Dudamel: Eres el mejor! y La Orquesta La Mejor Del Mundo en su categoria!

  • ENORMES

  • The product of actually funding your education system.

  • Venezuela

  • @benneem Sorry lol I forgot they start at different times >.< It is there so sorry :(

  • @Peligrosisim0

    @NCSChuggaFan1

    Listen from 1:35

    Then search:

    "Shostakovich - Symphony No. 10 - 2nd movement - BBC Proms 2010 - Australian Youth Orchestra "

    Listen from 0:40

  • @benneem I listened from 0:40 and it was not there at 1:40..

  • OMG, if we could have a talentmeter it would be over the scale, that´s the talent for the musicians and Mr Dudamel, nothing to do with the MF Chavez

  • @wolf69a You are wrong, President Chavez is the best president Venezuela has EVER had. This orchestra is 100% C HA V I S T A ! !

  • @padredemishijos12 Hahaha that's so funny

  • @padredemishijos12 jajajajajajajajaja! / hahahahahahahaha / LOL / LMFAO You're a Joke

  • @hectorelbomba The joke is in your bathroom mirror. Check it out.

  • That is the spirit of America continent, exciting music...yes sr...."iiii ñorrr"(si señor, in spanish)....

  • That is the spirit of mexico, exciting music...."Danzón 2"..yyeeaahh...

  • Some comments are inane, childish and simple jealousy. This orchestra is simply colossal in size and glorious interpretations of great, soul stirring music.

  • @NCSChuggaFan1 I know the piece. He missed it. I suggest listening to a different recording if you want to verify.

  • @benneem Congrats, but I've heard this piece many times, even from different recordings, and not one had a snare drum at that moment, sorry :/

  • Oh no! Snare drum missed his part at 1:40! And with the wonders of live broadcast the camera man still did tried to shoot it!

  • @benneem No, he was waiting..

  • @benneem

the camera man was the missed one...

  • dis gud

  • IN VENEZUELA NO ONE CAN AFFORD BLACK SUITS SO THEY ALL WEAR SWEAT SUITS

  • @19BARD85 you are a stupid asshole! is high school kids man!! You are a ignorant motherf........! Shame on you and VIVA CHAVEZ!!!!

  • @19BARD85 Of course we can, but to wear the national flag ist something that makes us very proud.

  • WOW these kids are amazing, BRAVO!!! being a conductor looks like a painful job

  • lol wow so many violin players 1:25

  • Say whatever you like: these are high school kids and this is world class.

  • Hugo Chavez gave a jump start to this young musicians, you should know that. Viva Chavez and el sistema , socialism works, long live Chavez

  • looks like the guy with the curley hear is like having a 5 minutes long climax, but the orchastra did awsum, for serious.

  • i freaking feel i wanna dance till the end of the song

  • my entire orchestra combined is like 35 times smaller than this one

  • This is the New World. The Latino Invasion. He will be the greatest conductor of the New Century. Only 30, the fire of Toscanini and the drive of Dutoit. El Systema could change the world I think.

  • @padredemishijos12 I think people join/end up in orchestras and prisons for very different reasons.

  • This program is a real danger for some people! I wonder what would think of it the prince that once complained because everybody seemed to be thinking they could achieve everything. I bet he must be upset to see young people from every level of the society playing classic music!!

  • muchas gracias por bajar estos videos...

  • AQUI EL ARTIFICE DE TODO ESTO ES EL SR. ABREU!

  • An inspiration without equal anywhere in the world. Bravo and brava to the men and women of this remarkable orchestra and maestro Dudamel. The joy is uplifting and infinite.

And THANK YOU to Maesto Abreu for making this dream a reality. Unfortunately it is still a only dream in too many countries.

  • @CCConservatory You must thank President Chavez who has dramatically increased the budget for the systems of orchestras in Venezuela. In venezuela, there are more musicians in orchestras than prisoners. In CALIFORNIA we have the fourth largest prisoner population in the world we follow the USA as #1, China #2, Russia and India, #3 and CALIFORNIA #4.We also have more prisoners than musicians in orchestras. Calfornia has more prisoners than W. Europe put together.California has 140,000 prisoners.

  • @padredemishijos12 this is not chavez 's doing, this is the work of relly talented people working for over 40 years, improving more and more!

  • @paolysarai You are mistaken. This is His Excellency President Hugo Chavez Frias doing MORE than anyone before him. Plain and simple. Before Chavez El Sistema was hungry both in finance and all support for the families of the musicians.

  • @padredemishijos12 thats because abreu is chavista.. so chavez hives him a lot of money just so abreu vote for him. The truth is that the sistema exist even before chavez were born. Hes just try to look good with the rest of the world. Dot beleav everything you see

  • @maggitaify You may be right, but Chavez made it better in a profound way by giving it all the money Mr. Abreu wants. Abreu is smart, he will support anyone who supports El Sistema with money. Chavez has promised to expand el sistema so that 1,000,000 poor kids get free music lessons throughout Venezuela. So far, that has not happened. The question for Mr. Chavez. Were those words empty promises or what. I am waiting. That came from a meeting with Chavez, Abreu and Dudamel. 1M kids!

  • I LOVE THE MUSIC Y LOVE VENEZUELA WITHOUT MR CHAVEZ!!!!

  • @rodriguezmarcoa1 Mr. Chavez made this all possible with continued increased funding for the youth orchestra program. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. This could never happen in way richer California where the priority is paying for prisons.

  • HOW are they so profoundly together? It's surreal...

    .

  • I SIMPLY LOVEEE THISSS!!!!!!!!!I THINK A LOT OF CUBAN N VENEZUELAN MUSICIANS ARE AMAZING!!!I HAVE A FRIEND THAT IS FROM VENEZUELA AND HE IS AMAZINGG!!AND I HAVE A LOT OF CUBAN FRIENDS THAT ARE AMAZING,(IM CUBAN TOO HEHE)xDDD

  • I love seeing them all use their bodies as expression too. This video is true talent.

  • watch also :)

HÉLÈNE GRIMAUD - The Emperor Concerto (Beethoven) HD

  • They are up to age 28 yes? Cause that's what the age is of their Youth Orchestras. They ARE great, but not high school kids.

  • @blummy24x7 You are wrong. Do you see any beards? Check out the Venezuelan Childrens orchestra. Cut and paste "ensayo infantil mahler" these are thirteen year old and under, doing the Mahler's Titan 4th movement. UNBELIEVABLE.

The Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra of Venezuelan had 28 year olds and under. But that no longer exists. It is just called the Simon Bolivar Orchestra. but they are all under thirty. Venezuela has more youth orchestras than Germany and Austria combined!

  • @blummy24x7

They are kids, under 18 years old.

  • @blummy24x7 Allow me to inform you. I'm from Venezuela and these are high school kids!! They start when they are 5 years old in every town in my country. What you see here is a selection of some of the best that were called for this event from all over the country. This has been happening for more than 30 years.

  • @MultiJleal Over 80% of the budget comes from the Government of Venezuela. Chavez is a huge proponent of El Sistema. Chavez has provided MASSIVE subsidies to the families of ALL music students in Venezuela about 500,000 children. This did not happen before Chavez initiated the Socialist Revolution in Venezuela. The parents get paid to send their kids to FREE MUISIC TRAINING. V I V A C H A V E Z ! ! !

  • @padredemishijos12 Please do not distort the truth and taint "the miracle" with politics.

Abreu's work started in democratic times, over 30 years ago. And after the sucess and prestige our orchestra system reached worldwide, governments have supplied part of the bugdet.

It has nothing to do with government

Fesnojiv receives funds from government today, but it is entirely free of government management.

    Respect music please.

  • @Polovene Before Chavez,El Sistema was starved for fundsThe families of the musicians lived in dire poverty.Musicians went to practice hungry. They would go to their home after practice, and there would be little food. Chavez brought the benefits of the revolution to El Sistema by providing subsidized food, free education, low cost housing, and 30,000 Cuban doctors and health workers, and a massive public works with reduced unemployment.Chavez produced, for the first time an HONEST government.

  • Not to follow padredemishijos12's attempts to taint music with his obscure political views, I will just share with you the link to "el sistema" 's site:

    fesnojiv.gob.ve/es/historia.html

Yes, Abreu started it on 1975. By 1989, democratic times, el sistema was already known and awarded internationally. It's trademark: it was inclusive rather than exclusive: poor kids were much part of it. Dudamel himself was part of it then, playing violin (nodbody's born a conductor ;) .

    Enjoy the magic :)

  • @Polovene Chavez pays a stipend to all the families whose children participate in the after school music program. Before Chavez the Venezuelan Capitalist government would steal government funds thus leaving little money for El Sistema. Chavez innovated honest government for the first time in Venezuelan history. These are the facts plain and simple.

  • @MultiJleal No government in the world, and no state government in the USA spends $120 million on music education for poor kids like its done in Venezuela. That shows honor in the government of Venezuela. Thank you President Hugo Chavez !

  • @padredemishijos12 The President didn't do this, is a program way before Chavez, and the program is not link to the goverment

  • @jefr1989 Dear Venezuelan friend. With all due respect, you are an idiot. What Chavez is to El Sistema is what steriods are to athletes. Chavez more than tripled the benefits to the families of the musicians, something previous governments were uninterested in doing. Such as free health care to all, subsidized housing and food to all the families, free education to everyone. Musicians play way better than before Chavez. It is the revolution that has made all the difference in the world.

  • Simply amazing what these kids can do. Haven't heard a professional symphony play this well together.

  • GREAT

  • I cannot express in word what these young and talented musicians, from the poor working class of Venezuela, have shown to us. They have executed a difficult piece which is a challange to even professional orchestras. They did it with ease, confidence and that special Latin passion which cannot easily be replicated. SPEECHLESS.

  • ay venezuela para ratooooo. espectacular

  • @nedgladys *hay

  • I love that the 33 dislikes are so much smaller than 1718 people that love what music has done through out the world. And that's bringing people from around the world sharing the love of music and of the themselves which the LORD has set in place. We can do without non music lovers but we have to do as God does.We still have to love them because God first loved us.Thanks again for "Love" "Youtube.

  • 33 dislikes? what? who ever disliked this OBVIOUSLY! doesn't know what magnificent and brilliant music is! :) i love this

  • CHULADA DE BONITO!!!! LA FELICIDAD TAMBIÉN NACE BAILANDO!!!!

  • OMG. you in fact bite that cute history of hugo chavez the liberator of the people. Why do you come here, live couple of months and later, you can say something. Those kids family, i can bet anything that they have a dead relative because the insegurity here. Chavez is not a savior

And those kids are not because of him, is becaouse Abreu ;)

  • @tintanharper Dear Lady, EVERYBODY'S LIVES is better off because of President Chavez the most HONEST president ever. Just because he doesn"t steal does not mean his is stupid. It means he is honest.

  • @padredemishijos12 if u are an outsider u don't have any idea of what you're talking about and if u are a venezuelan LIVING IN venezuela and yet u say that about chavez then you're blind. Chavez didn't even care about them, don't lie to yourself and don't lie to the world saying that chavez is the most honest president ever. That's the biggest bullshit EVER!

  • @bittersweetangel1 You are making it up. You assume that he is corrupt LIKE EVERY OTHER PRESIDENT OF VENEZUELA. But you are wrong. Chavez is not motivated by personal gain. He is motivated by revolutionary principals. Before Chavez, Venezuelans had the most UNEQUAL INCOMES in Latin America. Chyavez has brought more income and benefits to the lowest quintile of society, and Chavez made the richest pay taxes for the first time including back taxes. Understand why he is hated?

  • @padredemishijos12 no, of course he is not motivated by personal gain hahaha sure, you're right. He's still poor so is his family hahahaha and we venezuelans are rich! and the ex rich people are poor now hahahaha yeah you're right. Thank you for opening my eyes hahahahaha

  • @bittersweetangel1 You are welcome. I am pleased that you now see the light.

  • @padredemishijos12 ROTFLMAO! You're so chavista that the word sarcasm is not in your poor dictionary, it's even a foreign language LOL

  • @bittersweetangel1 Yah, ya betcha.

  • @bittersweetangel1 We don't say, "poor dictionary" we say "poor vocabulary." I think it is the same for educated Latinos.

  • @padredemishijos12 xDDDD if being "educated" as u say, means to think the same way you do then I'd prefer to be ignorant. And come on guy, let it go. get a life. move one, get over it.

  • @bittersweetangel1 Viva Chavez!!!!!!!

  • latino is the new japanese flawless perfection like the japanese but better looking lol

  • @12401cjl Stupid comparison.

  • I LOVE HER IN THE PURPLE AT 2:39 she is SO detected love it LOVE to see my fellow latinos doing there thang

  • Guy at 11:20 with glasses looks a little bummed maybe since he didnt get the solo, guy at at 13:27 looks like Shia Lebeouf 15:58 is one of the best parts when they stand up and go in circles really loved the video!

  • IF ONLY EL SISTEMA EXISTED IN EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY

    Viva José Antonio Abreu !

  • what a wonderfull talent, what a wonderfull country please don't mix politics with this, Venezuela is the most wondefull place on earth and we should keep it that way. Viva mi tierra, viva Venezuela!!!!

  • @ferni375 Viva Chavez!!!!! He made this all happen with government appropriated funds. One million poor kids studying music for free, plus free instruments. Even prisoners study music in jail!

  • @padredemishijos12 WTF dude?? This is not work of chavez, the movement exist log way before his leading. Gustavo Dudamel is not product of chavez. All this work, all this talent is work of the master José Antonio Abreu. He is the one who take care of the musical movement.

  • @tintanharper You are a sad and ungrateful person. President Chavez made it a lot better. The families of these musicians get huge government benefits for the first time such as free health care and education and food subsidies. Before Chavez all the poor people were in very bad shape, hungry and sick. El Sistema flourished because of increased government support (money) from Chavez.

  • @tintanharper You may be right that it was originated before Chavez, but it is paid and supported by Chavez. In fact Chavez has doubled its budget and the number of students who study for free. Our governor Schwartenegger has eliminated all music from schools for children. In california it cost $85/hour for music lessons. For what poor venezuelans get for free, I would have to pay $2,000 per month per child if not more.

  • what is the name of the first piece?

im shocked this is high scool its just pure craziness but i love it

  • @euphonium2011 It is the 2nd movement of Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10. They are incredible, aren't they?

  • @euphonium2011

    Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10, 2nd movement

  • Fucking morons mix music with politics asshole

  • Beautiful! THANK YOU TED SHOW FOR MAKING THIS POSSIBLE!

  • It's really incredible O.o

  • Long live Hugo Chavez

  • @racumira chavez is not responsible for this. El sistema have existed for nearly 40 years.

  • @rafalexpx Chavez is responsible for one thing and one thing only PAYING FOR IT which he has done and done well. Lets all say a big THANK YOU!!!!

  • @padredemishijos12 are you venezuelan?

  • @rafalexpx You are wrong, Chavez made it better.

  • goosebumps all the time! :)

  • I'm so in love with music, I can't stand it. It makes me, as a high school horn player, really happy to see that young musicians care that much about music and strive very hard to be that good. Bravo!

  • Eccezionale!

MARAVILLOSO!.

  • 15:29....That is the face you make when you fap to this music.

  • It's a pity to see these commentaries section have turned into a political board. If you read them up to 8 months ago you'll find only praising to this incredible video. Please stop it.

  • Can I get a copy of these performances from iTunes or something like that?? They are fantastic!!!

  • All these boys practicing its instruments all the time, and many profesional musicians in latinamerica also, but, when all this people want to live of all this effort, when these guys want to feet their families won´t find where.... obviously this project is beautiful, but, where this is taking to our countries and their profesional musicians.... this boys don´t earn salary. Maybe is much convenient for the state but not for the musicians who do all this music possible..

  • @Leonidaspart You're completely missing the point. You didn't understand what Dudamel said so I'm gonna go ahead and explain it to you. By practicing an instrument, these kids are incorporated discipline and effort into something they do. It gives them self esteem and a sense of self that is going to help them achieve whatever they want to. Do you know that a lot of engineers and scientist were musicians first? For example: Albert Einstein.

  • @StandSoon and you can´t compare this countries with europe or USA where just in US there are almost the same professional orchestras than ALL latinamerican countries, and the oportunities for work and education in many other areas are much better, and the idiosincrasy there, is very different, in latinamerica this kind of musical oportunity is for the boys an ilusion for your professional future....

  • @StandSoon Yes, but what you don´t understand is, for you play the 10th Shostakovitch symphony like this, you need to practice everytime, everyday for much years, and surely, many of these boys will want to live professionaly of the music, I know many of these boys not just in venezuela but in another countries in latinamerica, many of these boys who are studing music with much dedication for 6, 8 years or more, its dreams are to play professionaly in a symphonic orchestra, contin.....

  • It`s wonderful, is amazing the level of these boys and the carism of Dudamel, it will be great for the boys in its lives, like human beens, but, I just have a question??? where is going to work all these musician in the future, if the politics in all countries, and specially in latinamerica is to exterminate the profesional orchestras and to change it for this kind of projects???.

  • @Leonidaspart Dear Leo: In Venezuela, none professional orchestra has been "eliminated". All this symphonic movement has resulted into an explosion of all kind musical events (weekly), excelent performers, composers and popular music arrengers(as Porfi Baloa). As in the rest of the world, excelent performers have the opportunity to become professional musicians and they are well paid. "The System" gives children an opportunity to develope as useful human beings.

    Bravo!!! Wonderful!

  • @MadamBugsy you just stole my words :P

  • That is the best rendition of Shostakovich 10 I have ever heard, and that includes all of the recordings I have heard from professional orchestra's. Bravo!!

  • Great musicians, and everything I've seen from Dudamel has been really impresive as well.

  • Congratulations to Venezuela for this musical prodigies! It is awesome to see such a display of talent.. This make me feel really proud of Latin America. Maestro Dudamel resembles King Midas, everything he conducts becomes gold.

  • well the system was created 35 years ago...before Chavez get the power...so it is product of democracy

  • @carl9867 You are totally wrong. Before Chavez the families of these musicians were hungry and very poor, and had no hope in their future. After Chavez, everything changed. These families got political and financial support, such as free healthcare, subsidized food, free education, housing. Also, Chavez increased the budget of El Sistema, and paid for overseas tours to Europe and the USA and Japan. Before Chavez the corrupt political parties robbed the people. So, stop crying you traitor.

  • @carl9867 Before President Chavez, the musicians did not play as well because they were HUNGRY. You know? Hurting stomachs and all that. Something you have never experienced. Chavez gave food, hope, healthcare and education. Moreover, President Chavez is the most honest president in the history of Venezuela.

Thank you for sharing the opinion of the Venezuelan oligarchy. So, keep on paying your taxes, it goes to these musicians not invading countries.
