That's actually a model of the '64 '65 New York World's Fair, where Walt memorably debuted four attractions (small world, Lincoln, Progressland, and Ford's Magic Skyway).
Anyone else notice the Howard Stark - Walt Disney connection? Same sort of look with the grey suit and small mustache. Stark Expo = EPCOT. "It's not just a business, it's a dream." That's a Walt line if ever I heard one.
@nosuchthingasgod That's very much intentional. The theme song for the Stark Expo was written by the Sherman Brothers, who wrote the music for all of Disney's pavillions at the New York World's Fair in 1964 (like the Carousel of Progress).
@deeblite allow me to correct myself before someone else can. It was just Richard Sherman who wrote "Make Way For Tomorrow Today" not both of them. The point still stands.
This is really disappointing. This looks like it was thrown together by different departments that didn't know what the goal was. If this is supposed to be 1974, then why is there footage from the 1950's? The rocket ship that the piece opens with looks even older. The end graphics reminds me of the later Seventies or early eighties. It seems poorly edited as well; look how Stark is cut off before he finishes his line.
@TighelanderII I totally agree. Also, the announcer's voice sounds like something from the 30s, and while Stark's voice is not a whole lot better, it's noticeably better... but also still of very poor fidelity. I was at Expo 74. I seem to remember that we could record in pretty good quality by then. ; )
@KnightOfTheLight95 Quite some time? Ok. How old is Reed Richard's Daughter? She was born around the same time Tony was dealing with his problem. Subtract that and we get about 5-8 years ago (in comic book time). I remember during Civil War Tony was drinking and then Threw or smashed his bottle of Brandy. Hes still a drunk.
@LivingCrusader Unofficially, Wayne is. On the list of the richest heroes and villains, Stark ranked at 2 after Wayne. However, I heard that most of the actual numbers for that was pulled out of thier arses and was complete speculation. So, yeah.
haha I know, I was like "I should've gone to this!" then I thought for a moment... "Oh wait, I wasn't born until 17 years later...." LOL it's a shame, isn't it? xD
