I realized I had misread the instructions, and saw that it was to remove and replace the battery before the recal, and not to leave the battery out. Thanks for the reply!
@juankam075 From this I think that removing and reinserting the battery resets the hygrometer. Then after putting the battery back in then do the sat test. We didn't do it and it seems to work fine. But, doing this is probably a good way to go if you want. Remember though model vary and reading the directions is always a good idea. Also I take it from that putting the battery back in needs to happen before doing the salt test.
@juankam075 There is a PDF form Xikar if you search ( xikar hygrometer taking out the battery ) that maybe what you are referring to. YouTube won't let me post the direct link to though
@CanecaProductions it is a good hygrometer and I do recommend it. Xikar is is great brand and has a habit of offering extremely good warranties on its products.
@CanecaProductions The link to the Xikar hygrometer and others can be found in the description below the video. I recommend to anyone that if they are in the market for a hygrometer to buy a digital one. Digital hygrometers are much more accurate than their analog counterparts. A good digital hygrometer should show temperature and humidity, arguably the most important variables in keeping cigars in top shape.

My xikar hygrometer states to remove the battery when calibrating using the salt calibration system, would leaving the battery in be okay?
