The British Empire had no chance of winning in the pacific! Most of its armies were tied up in Britain,Africa,Middle-east,ind­ia,etc They had no chance of reinforcements or aid. INDIA WAS FIGHTING SO THEY COULD BE FREE FROM THE BRITISH EMPIRE!

INA was the real patriot army.

the volunteers of the British army, in my mind were mercenaries.

One of the big reasons that the British left india was the huge number of angry indian soldiers who saw british turn tail at the first sight of japanese. MK Gandhi had very little impact on indep[endance movement.

@cray0308 I feel that Gandhi had no impact on independence whatsoever. India and Pakistan got independence because the British were bankrupt at the end of the war and they could no longer afford to hold onto the subcontinent. I doubt that the British left because of angry soldiers - don't forget that in WW1 they lifted martial law in the Punjab and promised independence if our people would fight for them, but when the war ended they reinstated martial law and carried on as before.
