question about hatching. how do you do it with inking? do you ink in illustrator? because im not sure how to do the inking on the hatching, the heavy crosshatching i usually black out, but lighter hatching i dont want to make all black because it takes a lot of depth away. but drawing every single line in illustrator is kinda time consuming :) thx, great work you do :)

i usually do the basic sketch and outlines with paper and pencil. I do inking, coloring, and shading etc. etc. with a tablet and PS after I scan the drawing.

i would sort of agree about the video on muscles. since although i have a book with pictures of muscles painted on a person in various poses and have had a lot of figure drawing classes, there is still so much to learn.

i think i would ofter find myself just drawing what looks better or trying to find a picture for that pose. i can visually extend shapes if i have a picture but i dont have a full grasp on how they wrap etc. like a comic book artist might show every single muscle as pronounced.

thats just as simple as studying shadows on ur own, he can't really help too much

It's kind of hard to explain shadows. Just decide where you want light to be coming from..which is up to you, it's all about preference. And you got to remember, EVERYTHING casts a shadow. As for where to put it, that's something you'll have to practice, and figure out on your own. You just have to think of everything as 3D, and figure out how the shadow bends around something, and stretches depending on the lighting and shape of the object.
