The problem with the free press in the United States is however not that journalists are getting killed for painting the government in a negative light. I could go into endless detail, but in short, no, it was not like in Hollywood films, where the Soviet Union is shown as evil or the "bad guy", it was not like that, people lived very general lives and didnt care much about the US, not much talk about it in the army either, Soviet officers were very confident with the Soviet army, if a war was to break out they felt like we would be victorious, atleast in Europe, the general public were not anti-US, but it was another story in the government...

I don't know how well you know Georgians but I can tell you one thing:they will never become slaves of ANYONE,neither of the US,nor of russia.But russia will not tolerate if georgians have their own opinions and policies!And Georgians will not tolerate someone dictating them what to do!I really know Georgians have tried their best to be friends with russians but it is impossible!

Russia is accused NOT without proofs!Georgia is so small and it is very easy to know the information from the first sources!Everyone´s relatives of friends were in so called S.Ossetia and everyone knows what happened there!Besides this issue of who started the war,we could see what russian soldiers were doing,I have never imagined this kind of cruelty!

MZE1988, No, I do not agree that Putin those not care about his people, he has worked so hard to bring back Russian economy brign better lives to the citizens of the federation and I do not think those events prove he those not care. As for Russia wanting Georgia, you say you had friends in the conflict zone, but I have real doubts that they would have known of who was firing the Artillery and air raiding the City.

Listen,everyone can't be mistaken except you russians!besides my friendS(not 1),i talked to the refugees(who doesn't speak fancy english like the ones you show on tv),I know from the soldiers and I know from foreign journalists who were IN the conflict region.Besides,I know the psychology of Georgian men,I bet on my life they would not start the war and shoot at civilians!

We had many cases when the president ordered to shoot at civilians and the army refused to do it!You russians will never even dream about it!That´s why I know that even if some government officials ordered them to do so(absurd,cuz everyone knew russia would bomb us),they would not shoot at civilians unless they knew that russians were doing so!

MZE1988, The buildup of the Georgian army on the borders is known and accepted, and a tiny force of 3000 Russian troops present in the zone it would be insane to suggest that they attacked, ofcoarse I cannot prove anything and I do not think you can too, so I will not discuss something like that, we will see the outcome of the investigations, as for the US condemning Russia so much in my opinion it is because they feared loosing the promissed oil if Russia did take Georgia.

The relations will be rebuilt only if Russia admits the territorial integrity of Georgia and respects Georgia as the sovereign state.I think Georgians have always done so and keep doing so!And friendship is possible only with mutual aggreement,not when one tries to bully other!

Psychology of Georgian men is only one point(at not of little importance while comparing to the one of russian men).I told you,my point of view is based on people who were in Tskhinvali and saw everything with their eyes.Also based on my eyes,since I saw many things with my own eyes.Also on refugees,on history books and the fact that russians could not show us single video proving that georgian soldiers shot at civilians!

MZE1988, I do not know the "Psychology" of those men at war, nor have I been in the war zone, but from people who return from there they do not seem to know much more than me who was not there, but my point of view at this time is the war happened because of US influance on Sakasvili who seems to do anything to join NATO and afterwards US took over as they (in my opinion) feared loosing the promised oil.

Whom did you meet who was in the war zone and didn't know anything that happened there?I know dutch journalists can tell how russians bombed civilians and killed one of the dutch journalist.My friends who were in Tskhinvali when the war started can tell how they SAW the bombings from russian-separatist side during a week before the war,turkish journalists can tell how russians bombed civilians cuz they themselves were under bombings from the russian side.

I know soldiers and reservists who were in the war zone and they explain everything.I saw with my own eyes how russians soldiers were terrorizing civilians,how they were carrying even used underwear with their cars and tanks.
Saakashvili may be influenced by the US but he fears Georgian people who can overthrow him like they did with the former president.This fear prevents him to do CRIMES against Georgian people.And Georgian people definitely are against the war!

After all,Hungary,Afganistan,Poland,Estonia,Latvia,Lithuania,Ukraine,Georgia,so on and so on can't be all wrong and only russia can't be right in all the cases.I don't think it requires a lot of intelligence to see that Russia wants to expand its territory.This is more clear than anything!Its imperialism is very well proved and youtube space is not enough for the facts that prove it!

Just the proof that you are wrong:when there was the referendum,I voted for NOT joining the NATO.But after experiencing the war,I do feel it is necessary for russia to have certain fears not to bomb us.Russia clearly doesn't fear us,it will at least take NATO into consideration!If you are against the west,you don't automatically have to be against Georgia!
