Also, Whitney will return next year with the sequel to Waiting to Exhale, which again will be a hit movie for her (unlike Madonna who 90% of her movies flop). Whitney isn't about the voice only, she's entertainer (music, acting and producing) and she has succeeded in all.
The most interesting thing is: Madonna and Whitney have always been very respectful to each other since the 80s. This video is about (funny) Madonna being competitive with her peers. She's a talented songwriter and record producer who kept her autonomy within the music industry over the years. Vocal range is not musical talent (hello Mariah fans). Madonna's varied and rich catalog speaks for itself, she doesn't have to prove anything to anyone.

@bhindex I agree with what you're saying but I really don't get this 'Madonna/Mariah fan war' thing anymore. I like both artists (admittedly i'm more of a Mariah fan as a lot of Madonna's music is quite 'gay' - and i dont mean that in a bad way) but surely Madonna fans can still admire Mariah for her amazing voice..? :)

@imafan123456 Madonna wouldn't sell well over 300 million records (the only American artist apart from Elvis and Michael Jackson to do so) by just appealing to "gay" people would she? I know a few straight men who own her Ray of Light album.

@imafan123456 Urm, so gay icons don't have straight followers? How do you know this as a fact, have you commissioned a survey? Madonna's Ray of Light album appealed to a wide demographic for instance. If you said somebody like Kylie Minogue who Madonna has outsold by about 5/1 then yes I would say her fanbase was mainly gay. Madonna has sold too many records and sold out too many tours to have the vast majority of her audience be gay.

@TheSolitaryHeart I've been to five Madonna concerts and the three quarters of the audience were gay men. And one album is not representative of her whole career.
