I know some students who have used Methamphetamine for study and exam sitting purposes. They are very smart A+ students with multiple bachelor degrees but arguably rather stupid for taking that particular drug. . .

@animalcrackers666 They're not always illegal though. Some drugs, like Ritalin and Adderall, are controlled substances in the UK, sure, but things like Modifinil are totally legal to buy and possess, even if they are "prescription only".

@nonameplayer Don't buy Ritalin, it's illegal to possess without a valid prescription. Modofinil (also known as Provigil) is more of a gray area, though.

There's nothing unfair about taking natural supplements that enhance our God-given brains and use them to their fullest abilities. It is our right as consumers to put what we will in our bodies if we think it will do us good or not. Governments should keep their grubby paws off natural supplements. Saying that its wrong for me to double my learning by taking drugs is like saying that all men shouldn't use wheelbarrows because carrying dirt with a shovel is more ethical. Sure, people who don't want to buy wheelbarrows are left disadvantaged - but that's the nature of reality. These people really just want other people to give up, stop trying to excel, and stop rocking the boat - because they don't want the lethargy of their simple lives disturbed.

In end end, how does it matter how we got their? We learnt what we learnt, and we can apply it in the work place.

i think they are making too much of it, it just keeps you awake. If you want to get stimulated you can drink a lot of coffee. Modafinil is a fairly new drug and nobody knows what long term use does.

If you want modafinil buy "adrafinil" which is legal. onece it's in your body, it turns into modafinil.

I've been reading up on smart drugs for a while as i am convinced they will benifit me. I failed at school all the way through, bottom of the class for everything, im sure im ADD, however at the same time i have certain smarts that a lot of academics dont if you know what i mean. Still very frustating for me though. received my Modafinil in the post, on day 3, ive found increased focus, alertness, drive, i want to be smart and if drugs do it then so be it, fingers crossed

If your looking for a step up try some racetams, adderall, ritalin, or any family of acetam.

Modafinil may help. It works best for me in low doses like 50mg 2 or 3 times per week. Google search for Modalert (same stuff but cheaper alternative). You will find the result in google ads & not actual results for some reason. When you get smarter, you will know why :)

Online shp bulknutrition (do google search) has it all for low prices. I'm no way affiliated to this shop ... just a happy customer. My favorites are Piracetam, Oxiracetam, Idebenone, Modafinil. Except for Modafinil, everything is available there.

After 10 yrs of self experimenting I found what works best for me. It may or may not work for you though. I was both, a dyslexic & adder ... so you can imagine what it is like.

I have been taking Vinpocetine (from the health food store) for one week now. I notice that I can understand what I read better, and that I can remember what I read better and clearer. When I am reading something, I don't have to go back to the beginning after every time I leave off any more.

Zia, pretty much any substance you take in can harm or help you- often a bit of both. Even oxygen, but in its case, it's def. worth it to keep breathing! As for non essentials like vinpocetine, you definitely want to weigh the risks and benefits against each other, take your individual situation and biology into account, and make decisions accordingly. If you want to know more about the possible downside of vinpocetine, do a websearch for side affects. Don't stop at just one site.
