  • lol for some reason this scene reminds me of Chris Brown and Rihanna

  • lo I was thinking of Usher & Beyonce for some reason.

  • love the movie! But why in the hell would she tell him to kill her. Wether i think he was gonna kill me or not i wouldnt temp him and tell him to do it...cuz it would end up just like she did...dead!

  • When I was a kid, I thought this was the most wonderful singing Id ever heard.

  • did she know that it would be joe who killed her? or just that death was coming to her?

  • hahahaha i love this movie, i couldnt stop laughing when he gets upset, look at his face!!!! geez harry!!! so serious!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks alot 4 postin this:)..xxx

  • truly a classic. love this so much. why can't they make 'em like this anymore?

  • Hmmm, sorry to disappoint but the singing voice of Joe was by LeVerne Hutcherson not Harry Belafonte.

  • he is such a good singer! unbelievable! She sounds so bad next to him!

  • wait, just noticed something. check out joe's face at 1:08 when she turns around lol.

  • yeah i would have dumped him too, comin at me singing like that. lol

  • thats so funny!

  • his voice wuz killin me

  • Ain't love grand? heh-heh....

  • you know the card reading scene when she got the card of death? did she also know it was Joe who would kill her?

  • she knew she was gonna die but she didn't know how or when. just that she was doomed.

  • I really don't like the singing voice they chose to dub Harry Belafonte. He sounds like he has a mouth full of cake.

  • i believe that was his voice. or they found someone who sounded like him. belafonte talks like he has a mouth full of crumbs even now.

  • Please, let us remember that this is a MOVIE! Movies are not real, but a depiction of life.

  • why did he have to kill her,if he killed her didnt he realize he would go to jail.

  • dude. He's obsessed with this woman who dumped him, and is insanely jealous. Look at it from his perspective- he gave up everything for her, and she ditched him for someone else. Not saying that makes it right- what I am saying is that the last thing he's thinking about is the law.

  • she idn't ditch him, he was jerk to her, demanding to know where she was going, who she was seeing all the time and just generally being a real pest. In the end she got tired. Can't say I blame her if a guy was trynig to keep me under lock and key day and night I'd dump him too.

  • She ruined his life. He was stupid for doing it but she lured him away from his duties, got him in trouble being stupid with a senior officer and asking her to choose between her and his career. she did him just as bad as he did her. heh. loves her lol

  • he was not a jerk to her; she just wasnt used to being a one-woman man. she still loved him to the end. but after realizing that she was doomed, she figured it a waste to spend her life with one man. she wanted to party it up, so she took up the boxer's offer on going out of town to be with him (remember she turned him down before pulling the nine of spades).

  • technically he was a bit possessive of her, a little too much and thats a turn off for any woman. coem on he virtually told her that she if she left him he'd find her... how stalkerish is that. when she got the nine of spades she realised like you said that as her days were numbered she might as well live it up, but i have a feeling she would have let joe go either way as he was WAY too obsessive.

  • the way his eyes and neck veins bulge when he sings makes him look like a maniac

  • My favorite part of the movie. He was psycho. Basically Carmen Jones is a tragedy of "if I can't have you no one can" type of story. She DID ruin the man, he was a fool anyway. I love the movie, think it's awesome. They don't make 'em like this anymore, I miss the class and grace of some of the old actresses.

  • Awesome.

  • Nooooooooooooooooooooo! what use to be ain't no more.

  • This scene really moves ya!

  • I love this clip, it's the best one in the film for me.
