Maddow may be trying for the "most meanspirited partisan muckraker on television" title, but she has a long way to go before she matches Olbermann, who is by far the most vicious hate-monger, not only on television today, but of any public figure in American history.

I could see why Palin would pray for her son and the other soldiers he will be serving with. Most great leaders have referenced God when talking about troops in battle. JFK did.

In Vietnam, the chaplain gave a prayer for us to be safe and for the enemy to be destroyed. About the only time, I refused to stand for a prayer (as did my pilot). This disgraceful chaplain has been etched in my memory. In fact, it destroyed my belief in HIS God. I don't want any part of a God that choses sides.

Prayer of that nature is a deeply personal thing. But her comments in her church and comments more recently have pointed to a more serious problem. When she said that the administration was doing God's will this took it out of the cintext of the personal and made it sound like policy. Bad idea!
