It's fair to say that the curved lens effect of the GoPro makes it look faster on screen as I disappear into the distance. I actually remember it being disappointingly slow oddly enough. I guess I'd compare it to being in a car crash where time slows down as the adrenaline kicks in. The greatest sensation of speed was at the very beginning of each run where I reached my top speed within 40/50 meters.
