P.S. The AK47 was NOT the worlds first assault rifle.....

@stefaan10111992 Technically the first assault rifle would be the Russian Fedorov Avtomat, but it never saw service. The Ribeyrolle 1918 may be the first Assault rifle used in service. But there are so many others that have come before the AK. Even the German STG-44, which even INSPIRED the AK47. And to answer your other questions, yes the AK47 uses 7.62x39, and the reason people use AKs are because of its reliability that its so famous for. And its A LOT more accurate then ppl make it out to be

Larry Phillips & Emil Matasareanu use TWO Romanian AIMS AK-47 Type Rifles Including a Hungarian FEG AKMS Rifle so thats 3 different types of AK rifles they used during the 1st duration of the shootout and two more additional rifles they pulled out of their trunk later on in the shootout which include a Converted H&K 91 Rifle and a Custom AR-15 SP1 with a Beta 100RD C-mag so yea they used 5 Different types of automatic rifles in total so they were pratically ARMED TO THE TEETH you can say

Heckler & Koch is German manurfacture but AR15 are made by Colt so that is American. P.S The HK91 was clearly converted to fire full auto because HK91 is a semi-automatic rifle and the gunstore owner states that they have AR15's and CAR 15's but during the 1990's no gunstore would sell any rifle that was marked Colt AR-15 or Colt CAR-15 since they were banned 'by name' by the California "Roberti-Roos Assault Weapon Ban of 1989". These were actually Colt Sporter II HBAR's.

Phillips reaches into the trunk of the getaway car and grabs a Hungarian AK-63E under-folder (in the United States, the gun was sold in semi-auto-only form as the SA-85M). He uses this weapon until it causes a "stove-pipe" jam, due to a short action cycle caused by a faulty cartridge powder load. I know that your some sort of LAPD man but two of the rifles were not Chinese Norinco type 56's.

yeah. it also doesnt make sense saying "the sound of a chinese ak47" all ak47s are built the same and there shouldnt be any sound difference. the only way i know of an AK sounding different is if someone re-configured it for a different bullet besides from the 7.62x39round they are built for.

If you watch the clip, you'll see that the officer stating 'I'll never forget the sound of a Chinese-made AK-47' comes from his time in the Vietnam War, where they DID use Chinese AK rifles, and he was stating that in the context that the sound reminded him that these were AK rifles, whatever their origin of manufacture notwithstanding.

So, he wasn't really inaccurate, just stating a point that these guys had AK rifles in the first place.

In real life Larry and Emil used the Romanian copy of the AK-47, which is the AKM/AIMS copy which they converted themselves to use 75-100 round drum magazines.

Near the end of the shootout Emil used a converted M-16 with a 100 round drum magazine when SWAT confronted him further down the street from the bank

However at one point Larry used a converted full-auto H&K-91 assault rifle, and THAT gun is more deadly than the AKM.

Actually they had three AK's, one full auto AR-15, and one full auto HK91. They started with the AK's but during the shooting Emil pulled the AR from the trunk and Larry pulled the HK from the trunk.

Because the MP5 fires the 9mm bullet. The same round that the Beretta 92FS (The standard issue sidearm of the LAPD) fires.

Even though the MP5 has good range and a good punch, its useless against an opponent who has the same body armor a SWAT officer has and the opponent is clutching a Romanian made AK-47 that fires the 7.62mm round
