"the high school is like the world" - I don't get why high school seems to be such a big and important deal to us-american kids. Not only from the bullying point of view, but in general. I have the impression of you not having any other life beside high school. I live in Germany and we have something educational similar, of course. But isn't it just a school after all? Just one part of your everyday life, that can get pushed aside by other things or people or experiences?! I really don't get it.

@Riachan93 Unless you're involved with other things outside of school, then high school is essentially the world to you. When kids go to a school of possibly 3,000+ students, it is the world to them. One can get lost in the mix going to such a large school, where the average student is a nobody. High school sucks when you don't fit into the "norm". A norm that is dictated by bullshit such as clothes, social status, financial status, and in cases of bullying, sexual preference.It's easy2 get lost

@kjmmjmmder That was what my primary school was like. I went to one of the roughtest primary schools in Brisbane and the teachers weren't bullies, but they didn't give a shit. You know I'd tell them I just got the shit beat out of me, and they'd just be like, "Cool... what do you want me to do about it?" Now I go to a private school, so that doesn't happen anymore.
