I have often wondered if homphobia in the black community was a vestage of slavery, the need of the black community to have some one or some group lower than them on the social scale? Anyone have any ideas?
I would've thought those once so perscuted would have more compassion.
@shenadoa No I don't agree. If that were the case why not hate the Women's Rights Movement? I think African American's tend to be really prejudiced against members of the gay community. Our community seems to lack progression in this area for some reason. It is very ironic...
