  • les partes pour les instruments à vent sont très dificiles, je joue l'hautbois et j'ai à jouer trop de notes!!! (the parts for woodwind instruments are very difficult, i play the oboe and i have to play too many notes!)

  • Vladimirs is better despite lack of chorus.

  • Vive l'art impressioniste dans toute sa splendeur!

  • cor nice piece!

  • flute solo is at 7:17

  • another superb rendition by a wind band /watch?v=FNa1CkE6bzk

but they cut the front part though (including sunrise..)

  • There was a better performance of it on Youtube, but it was removed...I can't remember who was the conductor...but this one is pretty good too ^^

  • @felipemp93: This is your quest now... ;)

  • @Wyndorel lol I remember the video only...it was a bunch of clouds moving non-stop.

  • @felipemp93: Let us know if you come across this again. :)

I'll do it in that event too...

  • @Wyndorel It was conducted by Karajan.

  • @felipemp93 Just where, though, is this lovely dreamy painting? Such masterful hues.

  • @felipemp93 It was Karajan's made , berliner philharmoniker and it was removed as you said , have somewhere on my comp that version which was removed

  • @arseneV12 Oow! Please upload it!

  • The beginning is my favorite part

  • @UberWagen "Summer. Not a bit of breeze.

    Neon lights are shinning.

    Through the tired trees."

So goes this melody with lyrics to "Night Song" from the Broadway musical "Golden Boy."

  • Wow. There is a God. When I listen to this I can feel totally inspired.

  • Just saw the St. Petersburg Orchestra play this. One of the best pieces I've ever heard live.

  • So beautiful that it brings tears to my eyes.

  • This piece of music is beautiful, it reminds me of Debussy's beautiful piece of music, Prélude à L'après-midi d'un faune. Thank you very much Wyndorel, for putting the music on here.

  • @Dandylion1946: You're welcome. :)

  • Is this the BSO recording? :)

  • @TimGBone: Yes.

  • Beautiful, gorgeous, spiritual.... lovely photo... THANK YOU!

  • @CurzonRoad I agree with you. Thank you for sharing Wyndor el's posting. Maya

  • @CurzonRoad Speechless. Just beautiful. Heartfelt thanks.

  • Thanks for sharing, would anyone be able to tell me who the artist of the painting is?

  • @MrOscot5: This is a photograph. :)

  • Ravel is Never tiresome; just about the most luscious piece evr written, I think...

  • Best recording I've heard

  • I feel like Holst borrowed a lot from this and used it in Saturn from "The Planets."

  • @jimmyx36 To be honest, anyone that wants to write for orchestra will look at Ravel and use his influences because he's the master (I know I have!), as well as other composers like Barber, Mahler, Stravinsky and Shostakovich.

  • Just heard BSO preform this piece in SF -great performance. I assume after so many years under Munch that Ravel is in their DNA now.

  • @555paint I was there too!

  • @jimmyx36 oh lovely; great performance of Daphnis! Mahler One had its moments but a bit disjointed and we hear enough Mahler already in SF --would have liked them to have programmed something new but anyways a lovely eve I am sure you agree.

  • @darkblueangel1956: Sorry but I don't speak italian, so if you would like to share a thought, please do it in english for everyone at least. ;)

I appreciate your comment though, thanks to the non-always bungling google's traduction section. ^^

  • dude is FLYING at the end; (clarinet player) this piece is death to my fingers

  • This is by far the most beautiful thing I've ever heard...I imagine this as the voice of God!

  • @Zinlol: Feel free to take an ear on the Bruckner videos I have uploaded too. :)

    Or shall I also recommend listening to this work, for its unique "divine" dimension: h t t p://w w w.youtube.c o m/watch?v=5KsB3mhgcy8.

  • I could die hearing it.

  • Simply breath taking !! Wonderful performance........

  • So good.
