  • were the original keyboards they used analog?

  • @bigblockelectra Yes, on the record it's a duo between a monophonic minimoog and a Gibson.

  • @PeterTheSAGAFan were there any polyphonic minimoogs built?

  • @bigblockelectra Yes! The memorymoog and polymoog and others. All I have is Arturias minimoog, mood modular. I also have sample moog and others , why?

  • @PeterTheSAGAFan just wondering

what keyboards were used on the song intermission?

  • @bigblockelectra Well, it's hard to know what keyboard anyone uses in a song unless the sounds it's so obvious representative of the keyboard or you ask the keyboardist and he remembers (lol). I look at the video of intermission and Jim Gilmour has two PPG Waldorf 2.2+waveterm and two memorymoogs and a minimoog. Michael has an electric piano and a memorymoog. J.C. had a couple of minimoogs for basses.

Bottomline the bass on that song sounds like a minimoog. Cont

  • @bigblockelectra The ppgs are playing some of the pads ( the ones that sound glassy). The punchy pads are probably from the memory moogs but you could do them with a Jup8 and Prophet V or a CS80. The most interesting sounds on the song are from the PPG which uses wave tables and the sounds are not just the typical analog sounds but more interesting.

  • you rock dude!!! kudo's

  • what vsti you use

  • @scrawfrd02 On the video it's Arturia's minimoog but mostly Arturia's minimoog, cs-80, prophet v, moog modular, sample tank moog and Guidio's EG70 piano

  • so what's better. the yamaha kx8 or the axiom 61?

  • @hajtko it depends on what you want it for. For piano action Nd playing electic piano or regular piano the kx8. To play fast leads and control a few v synths get the axiom. The uf7 is a good compromise of the previous two and contrary to what u read out there it works. I also have the akai 61 which probably the way to go if u are going to be recording or playing live and want to control a lot of stuff

  • Another outstanding cover Peter. Thanks very much for sharing these videos with us.

  • Very very good!!!!!

Peter I need the Saga midi-files......

    Greetings from Germany

  • Hi, thank you very much! I play by ear. I don't have midi files. If you need help with the sound for the moog setup let me know. Frankly, I don't know anything about midi files. Never used them. Sorry. Take care

  • Hello Peter: "all by ear" = congratulations!!!!

Do you play only digital synths - where is the Minimoog?

I never knew that SAGA is famous in the US at all?

    Greetings

  • Thank you. I don't think Saga is well known in the US. In fact Saga is the most underated band I know unfortunately.

I am playing a minimoog software synthesizer from Arturia thru a midi keyboard. If u want to play Saga it has to be by ear. I don't think there is anything written for them. Cheers

  • Hey, nice playing. Look forward to seeing more from you.

  • @notjarre thank you!

  • How does the keybed of the Yamaha KX8 feel? Does it feel like a grand piano?

  • Well. It feels like the regular Yamaha upright piano. Like the one you see at a school. It does not feel like the Yamaha grand. Again, it's only a 600 midi keyboard.

  • Too cool.

  • Thank you very much. Thought about putting the whole song together like on the other vids but decided to just do the solo part. Glad u liked it.

  • That was good Peter. I am a long time Saga fan - well most in the start 80'ties. Love this solo.

  • Great job Peter!! It didn't take you too much time to put that together. Gracias

  • No Thank You. It was pretty easy. I could have tweak the minimoog sound forever... I'll do Amnesia next..

A mi no me gusta ver television.. La cancion es facil de tocar. Me toco tiempo sacarle el sonido al Moog.

  • Nice solo (:
