  • a a a aa

  • This is good stuff!

  • Nice lesson.

  • the ones I am using are called Pearl Congas which used to be Afros...maybe in teh future I will download some basic timbales...

  • hey sir what is the brand of your congas??? and i hope you can post how to play timbales thanks!!! and God Bless

  • Very clear presentation. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much!

  • heel, tip, slap, tip, - it's the tip after the slap that screws me up..I always want to go back to the heel. My brain can't get around the sequence. Grrrrrrrrr.

  • Tumbao del son

  • I agree whats with the words plastered allover the screen what good is that?...please take it away..Thank you...Johnny Conga

  • With the subtitles all over the screen, the view cannot see the hand techniques being used. This video may as well be audio only!

  • Wow, nice counting. AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH

  • 3-2-C.

  • I can play this on the drums. ... Random comment ;)

  • everything has a past, it came from somewhere before, tumbadoras came from something else perhaps a african drum don't know for sure. Nobody wants to erase history, just get tired of people arguing over this and that like a said lets enjoy the music wherever it comes from ...

  • I LOVE that. Now I have to get some. This is great for coffee jitters.

  • Born in Africa, transported to Cuba, embraced by the world...... Relax and let the music speak, let it grow. Thanks for the lesson Johnny.

  • sorry ...it's spelled Soukous

  • actually Afrocaribean music and music from the Islands borrow a lot from soukus rythm from Africa

  • Why do we insist in labeling the music, for that fact let just say it;s african music as oppose that's cuban, puetorrican, columbian or whatever...we know it was popular in cuba but where did it come before that...we in the caribean are a melting pot of diffente culture that came together and form this the drums, congas, tumbadoras, or whatever u want to call them, came from africa, let enjoy the music and stop the nonsence...

  • Si Flacurrio es la verdad...Conga is a genre form of music IN Cuba..But to Americans they are called Conga drums...quinto conga tumba...si yo se es hembra macho y tercera...y quinto conga mambisa y llamador y tumbador ...also caja mula y cachimbo...."JC" Johnny Conga or is it Johnny CongaMambisa?....smile

  • but the biggest conga is called a tumba or tumbadora soo hes on the rite track

  • I know they are called "tumbadoras" en Cuba, Puerto Rico and other Latin American country's, but here in America they are called..Congas or Conga drums and also advertised in the same manner.

  • well actually its the drum itself. the really small one is quinto, med, is conga, and the big is tumba, we say conga for ease and efficiency.

  • @JohnnyConga This is why I hate the internet. I'm enjoying this valuable lesson, and all the tight-assed know-nothings have to spout their .2 cents. Don't listen to the haters. If any of these clowns can do it better, I'd like to see it. It's an art, not a sport.

  • thx

  • I like that a lot, man! That's the way it is!

  • VERY GOOD, VERY GOOD

    gracia!

  • Thanks for a great lesson!!!!

  • Thank you. Now that I get the concept, it's time for me to shed! Clear and concise---just what I needed.

  • sweet.

  • Sooooo much better than the other conga videos on expertvillage. wow.

  • I've looked all over the internet for basic instruction on conga playing and I finally found it. Your videos are easy to understand and very educational. Thanks!!

  • You are a really good instructor! Thank you so much! Vos explications sont simple, claires et nettes. Merci encore.

  • Dude, I had never ever played congas before, and you just taught me... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I am going to look at every single video you have to learn more... amazing... truly amazing.

  • that was instructive
