debra was on the show talking about how she was doing a live show i think for will and grace so ellen said to "test" her to make sure she could ignore distractions and to make sure she was ready to do a live show one of the helpers from the show dressed up and came dancing out with that recorder and they both kind of lost it but ellen died laughing for a while longer after that! it was a hilarious episode! :)

What the schtick was, was there was to be a live taping of Will & Grace, and Ellen was telling Debra while shows are taped live, anything can happen, so Ellen set up the interview for weird distracting things to happen to see if Debra could keep going on talking without being distracted or laughing. As you can see, it backfired, because this guy marching out cracked Ellen up and then Debra lost it too :)
