Does anyone know where I can find this album? I'm also looking for the recording with the original versions of "No Greater Love" and "If I Can't say a Word." I really need these songs. I appreciate any assistance.
@prettynupe I have LA Chapter rehearsal this coming Tues. I will inquire of Dr. Rodena Preston or one of the staff regarding your inquiry. I'll get back to you by midweek
@prettynupe, For some reason I keep getting an error when I try to type in the two web addresses. Here's my email address. Contact me and I will forward to you what I have
Ahhhh... the memories of the Columbus Ephesus SDA Church preachout. As always, thank you , Thommy for your memories. AND when you decide to have another concert, please let me know. I missed you in January!
We did this song at my church with my young and young adult choir. New Mt. Pleasant MBC Inglewood, Ca. We didn't have anyone who could handle the lead so we did it with no lead singer and sped up the tempo just a bit. It was always a favorite of mine! Is is available for mp3 download anywhere? I no longer had the cassette tape for it (that's how long it's been since I had a copy hahaha) Great job Mr. Adams!!
I was there scared and young but i played on Carlont Burgess song at the last min........that was a great convention that year............. Thanks GMWA
Carlton is my facebook friend. I have known him even before Miami. Linda Munroe sg with me inJames Cleveland's Los Angeles Gospel Messengers. We're still hanging in. Yes, a great convention that year.
This is one of my favorite choir recordings that has not lost it's power. I first heard it in 1990 at New Faith Baptist Church in Mattesson, IL under the direction of Sterling Culp. Since then, it has been my song of choice for choir processional. Two thumbs up and a high praise to all of you who made this recording possible. Does anyone have the words?
I'm the writer of the song. Send me a note via youtube to Luckeestryke with your email information or mailing address. I can email you the words or send you a copy of the music.
Thx Sheall323 for lovin my song. I love it too. LOL! I'm in awe over how it is experiencing "new birth" and now over 4800 people have listened to it on youtube. And to think you sang in the choir in Miami. WOW! I recently connected with Carlton on FB as well. We shared in ministry some years ago in Arlington, Va. with the Hawkings Productions Workshop. He's my friend too.
I remember getting back from Miami and it was not a month before Cornerstone Institutional was siging this song. Most of us had did the album, Messengers, Southern California community choir, so it was a repetoire at Cornerstone. Alonzo loved directing such a moving number.
@Luckeestryke Mr. Adams, you certainly wrote a gem. Do you know where I can purchase the older recordings of the GMWA? I'm looking for your song and two others in particular. I'm also looking for the sheet music for the original version of "If I Can't say a Word." I appreciate any of your assistance.
@prettynupe oh please, please - i have wanted this song forever. If you have the sheet music will you please contact me via email and i will then forward you info and postage etc. for your trouble -for a copy of the sheet music to this song. cminor@fcs.k12.al.us
I won't be in Cincy this year. Depending on where the convention is next year, I might attend. I can't keep up with you young folk. LOL! Here's a shout out to the New Salem Missionary Bapt. Church in Columbus, Ohio, Pastor Keith Troy and Music Ministers Milton & Merlyn Ruffin.
Levoyce told the chapter in choir rehearsel today that gmwa may be in cincinnati again next year. When you come next year you can just take that little drive on up to Columbus and visit relatives and friends (hehe) I love this song man!
Wait a minute! Luckeestryke you are Thomas Adams? OMG! You are the best!! This song is in the archives of great gospel music. Thank you for your gift Man of Gospel Music.
I first heard this from Hopewell Baptist Concert Choir of Hartford ,Conneticut under the direction of Mr. Raphael Mitchell and had it on cassette and vhs video; unfortunately lost in my moving ! Thank you
I heard this song at a youth convention COOLJC years ago by Tommie's choir from Columbus, and I came to HOward U and Paul Gatling Rocked this song with HGC!
OH MY GOD!!! I was a part of this great recording in Miami. This was my first time attending the GMWA convention. It was such a great experience and made a tremendous impression on me. I really appreciate such excellence in Real Gospel Music. Thank you GMWA. I'm going to insert this song into my choir's song library.
As the writer of this song, having moved from Columbus, Ohio to Los Angeles and recently joining the LA Chapter, how honored I was to be asked of Sis. Rodena to dust this one off and teach it. I was shocked and humbled that so many knew it and some were part of the recording 23 years ago. I was blown away by the power & energy they delivered during the rehearsal. This was TETREC's opening selection for many years. Thank you LA GMWA!!
Thanks Marv1216 for forwarding this link to me. Such great memories of sharing my music with the GMWA. Choirs were singing this all over the U.S. To God be the glory! Thanks Rev. Cleveland & Rodena! TETREC used to wear this out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song has so much meaning to me. It's written by a man of God that I just adore Thommy Adams and led by a lady who I am very close to, Bonnie Lane. Excellent song!!!
