It is based heavily from the first dream/scene of the film; 'Sunshine Through the Rain'. I definitely would encourage a viewing of the film, if nothing else you could at least wikipedia the film and read the cursory summary of the first dream/scene.

I wonder if anybody else recognized that this looked like the foxes wedding in the movie Dreams by Akira Kurosawa (1990) imdb it for yourself it's the first story in that movie. The Shinto style wedding is done in the woods and choreographed pretty much the same (of course no weird alien or vagina backs) but the kimono's are a dead give away too.... Maybe I'm just imagining things... but if anyone else has seen the movie they'd recognize it.
