kids don't notice what race characters sound like...especially if its not a person (i.e. hyena, apes, crabs, etc.) kids may notice a person's race on a movie though, but often it's the parents telling them to notice. I'm mixed race so i never really cared, but i do know a few people who excited about this kind of thing. bought a doll, but painted it brown so they could identify with it better. same thing i guess. people who identify themselves culturally like to see theirs in the spotlight
