  • Why in the worlds was this flagged by the "Youtube community" and age restricted???

This wasnt even a bloody cage match or anything like that. Unbelievable...

  • @TheLucasMichaels people are just fucked up bro.

  • my favs

  • Owen hart, the fucking legend!

  • 8:30 is bret and owen playing leapfrog

  • bret is much better and liked much more than owen and i like bret better than owen but RIP Owen hart

  • one of the best match ever in history

  • Bret and Owen are equally excellent wrestlers,But Owen was always better on the mic than Bret.and this is coming from a huge fan of the two brothers

  • what an absolute classic!!!

  • can't believe this is over 17 years ago :O. OMG, remember watching it 1st time around.....STILL Epic, miss this WWF.

  • Owen Hart>>Bret Hart

  • SUMMERSLAM 1994.............

  • WHO WON IT BETTA BE BRETT!!!

  • only match between the Hart brothers that beats this one is their match at Wrestlemania X! what a match, shame Bruce Hart and Davey had to act fools! R.I.P. Owen and Davey Boy Smith and Stu and Helen Hart!!! Long Live Bret Hart, The King of Harts!!!!

  • I think this would have been a great match if it would have been a little shorter by 10 minutes.

  • much respect to Owen, this is classic, when I watched wrestling, Owen was exactly against the kind of sleazy trash you see you tv today, thats why I don't blame him for leaving WWF

  • @dssin Owen didn't leave the WWF, he died while employed by them.

  • @dudemanbearpig if you watch the a and e bio he was in between he would phone his wife all the time about the stuff they want him to do thats why contemplated leaving. he was trying to support them thats why he stayed. great man.

  • @dssin OK, well then you should have said you didn't blame him for wanting to leave. Thanks for the info, I didn't know that.

  • @dudemanbearpig no matter what still one of the greatest of all time the blue blazer owen hart

  • @dssin Leaving the UfC ? Owen hart died when he fell from the rafters of the stadium while he was trying to make a dramatic entrance. How did you not know that ?

  • It's a wrestling match, why is this restricted?

  • @fidgetstick I don't know, I mean, it's not even particularly violent.

  • this is my favorite match of Owen's.

  • this video has been age-restricted based on our Community Guidelines ??

  • cachavacha¡¡¡

    O.O

  • thats trippy bret strap around his arm isnt there then poof there its is around his arm shoulder at 5:37

  • old school steel cage matches. good time s:D

  • Im sure Bret probably lobbied to Vince possibly letting Owen beat him at the PPV, cause they were going to steal the show and they did. This was the culmination of their feud but since things were going so good for Owen when he turned heel; beating Bret at Wrestlemania, being King of the Ring, he had to lose a PPV match, otherwise it would have killed Bret's character.

  • When Owen's about to come out, you can tell they were having a problem with the screen opening. I'm sure Vince was gritting his teeth at the announce booth when it happened.

  • very well acted this was

  • @nath909 In wrestling its not called an "act" its called a "Work"

  • They need to bring back the Blue Cage for summerslam.. have a old school match night with the main event a 30min ironman.. because none of these guys can go a hour like Shawn & Bret did

  • Why the phuck dont they go back to using these cages. You can actually climb these instead of having to climb the damn ropes.

  • Best feud ever!!

  • This was when PPVs were special. With only 5 per year, they had a more special feel and the wrestlers took it to the next level in terms of the matches, and the excitement of those matches.

  • This was one of only four 5-star matches in WWE history.

  • @scottmackeen

    What were the other three?

  • @RS1Comedy1Vids They were HBK vs. Razor ladder match at Wrestlemania X, Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 13, and HBK vs. Undertaker hell in a cell at Bad Blood '97. These all got five stars from Dave Meltzer at Wrestling Observer, who rarely gives a perfect rating to American matches.

  • @scottmackeen Rock vs Austin at mania 17 should have gotten a 5 star rating

  • @merman08 Wild! I was literally just watching that match on an old VHS a few minutes ago. Like you'd read my mind. I agree that it's a great match. I think the reason it didn't get 5 stars (and I agree) is because of the ending. There wasn't a "true" finish, and the McMahon angle turned out to be a total booking flop.

  • @scottmackeen thats bullshit theres been a ton of five star matches in WWF/WWE history

  • @jeypeepsv1 I am talking about 5-star matches from the Wrestling Observer newsletter. They have only given the 5-star rating to four WWF matches. So it is not "bullshit."

  • I love "THE ROCKET"!!!!! RIP OWEN

  • owen hart should of been a world champo he deserved it rip owen hart

  • R.I.P Owen Hart :(

  • Bret and Own matches are the best

  • Owen Hart...as good as his brother was, is, and ever will be. Owen you are missed.

  • One thing I never understood, the cage door part just makes it seem like there's this annoyingly easy option of getting out of the cage. There shouldn't be a door on the cage, victory should only be had if you pin or submit your opponent or espcape over the top of the cage.

  • Bret is my hero

  • i hate the fact that in wwe the wrestlers can escape through the door instead of just scape by climbing the cage

  • Owen had astounding ring presence. Most fans consider him at bare minimum to be all-time top-ten in execution, but number one at in-the-ring comedy (vastly superior to Austin or Rock's mike comedy in my estimation). Without a shred of sarcasm, I rate Owen's physical comedy on a comparable level with Jim Carrey's. My reasoning being that the simultaneous comedy and action amounted to a beautiful symmetry impossible to duplicate. Look at Owen's hilarious and impressive lunge at 8:56... Artist!

  • This match was given a 5 star rating. Congrats to Bret and Owen.

  • We will all remember Owen Hart! R.I.P Owen. :'(

  • I'm surprised Owen or Vince didn't try to bring in Martha Hart and interview her. Also since the Hart Family was involved why didn't they ask Martha questions at the Summerslam?

  • R.I.P to the greatest wrestler, Owen Hart

  • @bigangrynaked - There were a few house WWF house shows there shortly after SummerSlam 1994. But the wrestlers said they liked the atmosphere at the Rosemont Horizon/Allstate Arena better...the United Center was "too big" compared to the other building.

I was at this show...there was a show at the Horizon a few months earlier, and there was a "surprise announcement"...SS 94 was at the "brand new" UC, and we in attendance would have first dibs on tickets.

  • why would anyone go climb over the cage when you can go through the door? I never understood why that was an option

  • This is one of those matches that when the question of "define prowrestling" is asked, this is shown as an answer. You have the Hart's in their prime, given time to do whatever they want. You have Lawler in his heel anoucing prime, he just adds so much to Owens character. The ring has souch a distinc sound - the cage rattles upon impact. Its a perfect 10.

  • @TheGrahams Couldn't say it anymore truthfully... I haven't seen this match in so long... It's amazing how much the cage rattled in this match, and how the mat sounded on impact... Definatly one of the best cage matches in history, and with 0 blood to shed

  • WONDERFUL MATCH PUT ON BY BOTH HART BROTHERS. R.I.P Owen Hart

  • This might be the best individual match in WWF/E history. Others had better stories, better spots, better build maybe, but just as a single match this might be the best. Damn those Hart's were talented!

  • I miss the Entrance of Owen "The King of Hearts"

    R.I.P Owen We Miss You!

  • WOW what an ovation! The arena must have been shaking!!

  • damn i miss this style of commentating from jerry lawler it sucks now that the role is switching around for michael cole...now michael cole is jerk not the king

  • @jeffplaysska

Like it matters. Cole will always suck, face commentator or not.

  • @lightning116 Actually for the first time in history, I'm starting to like Michael Cole. He's always been great at getting people to hate him, now he's finally using it in his character. He's got more heat than most of the wrestlers! But mostly I totally agree, Cole has sucked for most of his career.

  • God this is when wrestling was just ... amazing .. looking back on these videos make me appreiciate growing up back then and not now with the garbage WWe has on TV nowadays.

  • best fight ever in WF.. oWEN forever man..

  • maldita lucha

  • Owen Hart

    The best there is

    the best there was

and the best there ever will be

  • One of Brets best entrances....Great match as well.

  • IMO the most underrated match in WWE history.

  • @PWisArt Dave Meltzer rated it 5 stars (And he doesent even have 10 WWE matches at 5 stars) so he gave it praise' I would give it four and a quarter, and a lot of people on message forums find it boring which I think is wrong. This is tremendous

  • @PWisArt Owen Hart perhaps the most underrated wrestler among fans in WWF history. He was so good there are almost no words to describe it.

  • Guess what future WWE Superstar was at that PPV? CM Punk.

  • When Owen jumped off the top rope at the beginning, he stumbled. Wonder if he hurt his ankle?

  • I attended this event...it was the very first "open to the public" event at the new United Center in Chicago. From where I was sitting, I could see former announcer Todd Pettingill promo this match and others in a last-minute PPV preview to get people to order the show. This also brought out a lot of wrestlers to watch the match...probably the best of the show. The "Undertaker vs. Undertaker" main event match was lame and predictable.

  • @hsnterprize nope not the united center, wwf never held an event there

  • Owen Hart's theme reminds me kinda of GOONIES ARE GOOD ENOUGH by cyndi lauper I think when he was heel they should have changed his theme song but thats just me

  • I always believed that Owen was a better wrestler than Bret, shame he never won a world title

    R.I.P.

  • owen cut a SICK promo before this PPV on the "free for all" countdown show, i've been searching for it for a while. anyone know if its on here?

  • @Zelgeis that won't work on me. I don't believe in ghosts i just remember a great wrestlers legacy for who he was. Good luck with your haunting

  • Owen's music was awesome!

  • This was one of the greatest feuds of all time. Seriously, how can you beat brother vs. brother?

Also, listen to the crowd pop for Bret. He may not have been a Hogan or a Warrior, but people still fucking loved him.

  • @fagbert he got more pussy and fanmail then hogan and warrior ever did

  • The KIngs commentating is just priceless

  • Man.. Owen owen owen... He was the best wrestler to never win the big one.. R.I.P.

  • @WillFoSkill Davey Boy Smith, in my opinion but they were both great regardless.

  • @patssox44 And then theres the wrestlers who only won it once as a Cinderella Story then lost it. Like Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, JBL, etc. and I guess Scott Steiner in WCW.

  • @WillFoSkill well the thing about the chris benoit and eddie guerreros is they died before their real time... Benoit and Gurrerero were going to be the next big feud...the next shawn michals vs bret the next austin vs rock but they died way too soon because of vince macmanhon

  • @WillFoSkill Perfect was the best to never win the big one.

  • @zuneloader What if they had a British Bulldog vs. Owen Hart vs. Mr. Perfect, Triple Threat match, winner gets the vacated WWF championship.

  • @WillFoSkill I love Bulldog but he'd get eliminated first. Then of course after another 20 minutes of great technical wrestling and move sells Mr.Perfect would catch Owen with the Perfectplex or an unexpected small package out of nowhere and win.

  • @zuneloader Bulldog is then caught with a kayfabe injury, and Owen hart feuds with Mr. Perfect over the WWF title. He loses the first feud, has a 6 month hiatus comes back and Perfect is still the champion. Owen feuds with Perfect again but this time Owen wins.

  • @WillFoSkill lol...that sounds wonderful. We should write for the WWE. We might be able to bring it back to something watchable.

  • @zuneloader I think WWE is still watchable in some aspects. I like Orton a lot, but I don't like how WWE books his matches. He literally only does 2 clothelines a sideslam a backbreaker then RKO. RKO is a sick finisher but it's better when you build up the tension for it. I know Orton can wrestle.. 2004 Orton exploited lots of maneuvers.

  • @zuneloader - There were no such things as "triple threat" matches in the WWF at the time. ECW did have their "3 way dance" matches, but the WWF publicly acted like ECW didn't exist.

  • @hsnterprize They had triple threat matches at house shows starting in 1996/1997

  • Why is exiting the cage through the door an option to win the match? That's totally lame compared to climbing outside the cage. Why would anyone climb the cage if they can just leave through the door? I never liked that option at all.

  • @malaris60 yeah, i hate it wen wrestlers go through the door

  • Bret Hart: Nobody else in the world can wear pink spandex, and no one questions his manhood.

  • listin to that crowd... vince and jerry are both yelling and you can hardly hear them... now jr and jerry barley raise there voices and you hear them plain as day... RIP owen and RIP WWF

  • Watching this again reminds me that Jerry Lawler was one of the best heel commentators ever. Too bad he's a freaking pussy nowadays.

  • I remember watching this on PPV as a kid. I fucking marked out like crazy during this match. And then they put that stupid Undertaker vs. Undertaker match afterwards. Bret vs. Owen would've been the perfect end to this PPV. This is one of my favorite memories in terms of my wrasslin watching.

  • this still is quite a very new pay per view as after all it only just happened yesterday!

  • RIP Owen.

  • The best match I have ever seen in my 30 years of watching wrestling, I love this match

  • Back when the steel cage actually meant something. Back when storylines were properly constructed and a bunch of unnecessary stipulations weren't just thrown in for no reason.

  • @brnleague99 Well said man, WELL SAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love these two wrestlers

  • the best "cage match" there ever will be

  • nattie was in the crowd.

  • @MarkehJLL seriously?

  • @NXTNextGeneration yeah, she would've been pretty young though.

  • This cage is a classic and beauty. Man I miss these steel cages. Not a lot of wrestlers know how to perform inside a cage. Especially the fenced styled ones. Who can forget the legendary Ric Flair and some of his most brutal battles inside a steel cage, simply Classic!

  • fuck i wish i was older then i am so i coulda seen this kinda wreslting owens my fav wreslter even though he is dead R.I.P

  • The baby Bret gave his glasses to could have been Owen's son Oje. Bret looked in the ring before he did it to see if Owen was looking.

  • I didnt see alot of blood in this era, but unlike now they had great wrestling!

  • @CptKirk377 The early 90s' PG era is so much better than today's PG era.

  • @tannerlittleton I know, they evolved and then devolved.

  • I didnt see alot of blood in this era, but unlike now they had great wrestling!

  • i like this steel better than the fence like ones. Its alot thicker, and looks like it will hurt more. It might not look as good for the grinding effect.

  • Bret vs Owen no doubt one of the best feuds in wrestling history. This match was in my opinion the best one they had together. Both of them really knew how 2 work and put on a great match.

  • Owen Hart=Best Wrestler Never to Win the World Title

  • what would wwf be like today if owen was still in it great

  • I missed seeing that blue coloured steel cage....lol......

  • @Gaostriker a lot of wrestlers didnt like it because they felt it was to stiff and was hard to work let alone the fact it hurt a lot of people. in a way all cage matches are dangerous

  • @Gaostriker the reason why they stopped having it because Mesh cages are easier to manufacture and is cheaper

  • @Gaostriker lol it looks corny.. the decided the replace this cage when WWF went into Attitude Era.

  • I remember this PPV, I was a kid back then, so I really hated Owen and loved Bret. Going into this match I was SO scared Owen was gonna win, I really feared him. Cause back at WrestleMania X I, along with more or less everyone, laughed Owen's chances against Bret Hart off completely.. when Owen pulled out the MAJOR UPSET and won. I was like glued to the TV and completely paralyzed throughout the entire match. Didnt dare to cheer or anything..

  • @SpeakingOfWrestling i remember these moments when i was a kid.. feels amazing.

  • @xGnRxLive me too! thats why, I dont think wrestling needs to be PG btw, I can feel happy for kids today, cause to them its as real as it was to us when we were kids.

  • I wish Owen won this match since Owen is my favorite wrestler but at least Owen beat Bret at Wrestlemania X which is Owen's greatest win of his wrestling career! This match was a brilliant match but not as good as Wrestlemania X! RIP Owen, we all love you and miss you!!! I am planning to name my future son after Owen :)

  • @DVDFreaker Haha I am too

  • @MrShadowFoot-Awesome!

  • these were the days as a kid watching wrestling..back when it was cool. today its a joke...rip owen

  • they wax them

  • Owen played the best heel ever and was a hell of a wrestler, please Martha allow him to take his place in the hall of fame

  • @ElvisandJohnny who's martha ...his wife?

  • @ashrole yes, Martha Hart is Owen's widow. After Owen died she said that Owen's name can't be associated with the WWE and she won't induct him into the Hall of Fame

  • @ElvisandJohnny What do you mean, Martha?

  • @dstebbin By Martha i am referring to Martha Hart who was Owen's wife. After Owen died she sued the WWE and said that Vince can't use Owen's name or induct him in the Hall of Fame

  • @ElvisandJohnny Ok, I know she sued the WWF, but can you show some citation that she forbade them to use his physical likeness?

  • @dstebbin the fact that they never produced a owen hart classics figure.. enough proof

  • @nexivdr What do action figures have to do with the Hall of Fame?

Look, WWF (or, WWE, as it is now called) owns the intellectual property to all Owen Hart WWF footage, such as this match. Unless relinquishing those rights was part of the wrongful death lawsuit, then they can still use those rights as they see fit.

I absolutely refuse to believe that any refusal to do so is out of legality, and not respect for Martha's wishes.

  • @dstebbin i never questioned that. it has been quoted from martha that she didnt want an action figure being made of him, even bret has questioned such saying he thinks owen would have wanted his legacy to live on and not be forgotten like benoits. wwe has made figures of almost everyone whos been somewhere in wrestling except macho man. there is def something going on and martha is def a 1 of the problems

  • @nexivdr Like Benoit's?

You're actually comparing someone who died from a tragic accident, to someone who strangled a seven-year-old defenseless boy to death?

Dude, Benoit DESERVES to have his legacy forgotten! Sure, he may have had a great wrestling career, but will OJ Simpson ever be remembered as a football player? Why should Benoit be any different?

  • @dstebbin are you a fucking moron? im not comparing how they died i am comparing how after they died they are rarely mentioned.

  • @nexivdr You're the fucking moron if you can't understand what I'm talking about.

Yes, you're comparing about how they were treated after they died. You're STILL comparing apples and oranges.

The difference is that Benoit's legacy DESERVES to be forgotten BECAUSE of what he did. Owen's doesn't.

  • @dstebbin that has nothing to do with the original topic. i am comparing the fact they both are erased from wwe history and bret said that he thinks owen didnt want his career not to be remember(like benoits) and he wants to have figures of owen released. martha does not.

THAT IS ALL OF THE POINT I AM MAKING, stop trying to make more of it then there is. i will not be replying to this again

  • @ElvisandJohnny Owen was perhaps one of the best, and definitely most underrated, wrestlers in WWF history.

  • @ElvisandJohnny

Why in gods name would Owen Hart's family allow the company that killed him to profit off his death any more than they already have?

  • I NEVER SEEN DIZ

  • yeah owen hart plays the cocky arrogant heel so well ,would of been a great champ never really got the push he deserved i think but a great wrestler RIP OWEN

  • its sad that Owen would never be world champion. he wouldve been a great one thats for sure.

  • sucks that jerry king doesnt talk shit anymore. he used to be hilarious

  • I agree. Jerry Lawler should be more heel than he is now.

  • R.I.P. .....Owen Hart

  • please have some respect for the dead, asshole!!

  • @superprajith your right

  • "Another one of his brothers" Lol! Great line from Lawler when Bret Hart gave the toddler his shades

  • You'd have probably been saying this about Owen when he started too. You just have to give Tyson and DH a chance, they are amazing wrestlers and eventually their talent will be to great to ignore and Vince will give them the push they deserve

  • this match is on blood bath steel cage matchs

  • was this when bret hart first had his second theme music?

  • @Lavon927

I don't think so I could of sworn the first time I heard the new theme music it was on RAW (They kind of made A big deal of it).

  • I got to watch this on PPV back when I was a stupid young kid. I was freaking marking out like crazy for Bret. Such an awesome match, it should have ended the PPV........then Undertaker vs. Undertaker happened. Ugh.

  • Man am reading Hitmans autobiography and hav gotten up to theses days when he was feuding with Owen, lawler, doink, razor, diesel, backlund and shawn!

    Hitman truely the greatest!
