  • Hate to see children so misused. It was typical in that day and age that parents sent them out of the city to be raised by people who starved them and brought them up with little love. A lot died and their parents didn't question it. People had children because there was no birth control and many couldn't afford food to raise them. So they'd send them to a place out in the country that sounded good but they didn't question it and these child farms treated them like animals. No gov controls.

  • im tim linkinwater in the skool play for nicholas nicklby

  • I liked D'Arcy a lot in this film, and Smike was also quite good, I think it's weaknesses were a rather lackluster Madeline (She didn't really seem very put out about marrying creepy dude, I kind of wanted to see some humanity or it seems a little unrealistic...) and I honestly don't remember a lot of the other characters. People often run down the 2002 version, but I think it had stellar casting. Nicholas was probably the weakest, but he worked and Jamie Bell was the best Smike I've ever seen.

  • Where did you get the clips from?

  • I love the scene at the end =D

  • Watch James d'Arcy's next film, "W.E.", when it comes out in 2011. He plays Edward VIII. Should be good.

  • @shadowwarrior03 Thanks for the tip

  • @shadowwarrior03

I recently read that the film about Edward VIII, who abdicated the throne of England due to marring an American divorce, which is being directed by Madonna, has decided not to actually base the film on Edward, but a fictional character like him.

  • @amunrey You could be right ! James d'Arcy is six foot something, and King Edward was around 5' 8" - not an exact match. It will be an interesting film, I am sure !

  • please upload the full movie.. please... :)

  • Can someone upload the whole programme? ive been trying to find it online and cant find it anywhere :(

  • I've only seen the 2002 version with Charlie Hunnam <3

But this one looks excellent as well!

  • where can i watch the full thing? x

  • Smite is a really a great actor!

  • Nicholas is beautiful....English boys, yum

  • Thank you for making these 6 trailers.

In my opinion ot is the best version of "Nicholas Nickleby", my favorite version. I like also very much 1977 version, with Nigel Havers.

And I don't like 2002 version at all!

Thank you again. Choice of moments and MUSIC - perfectly done, as always!

  • I have to agree with all you say about the versions.

    Thanks for the compliments.

  • @gsbohn I dont understand why this one didnt get any decent reviews it was amazing! i saw it once when it first came out and it has stuck in my head!

  • @kiefer1house2 I understand your thinking there. It was by far the better NN, but another was out at almost the same time, and possibly people got them confused or felt they didn't want to see another NN so soon. Even IMDB had the DVD covers backwards for a while on their site. I haven't checked it lately.

  • @gsbohn they still do, i was looking for the original trailer and it not there its for the new one but it has this one as the cover made me angry lol

  • @kiefer1house2 Whyat really annoys me about this one is that all the credit goes to James D'arcy, don t get me worn he was amazing in this adaption but i think actually the best acting came from lee ingleby (smike) i think he played his role so amazingly well he was very under rated in reviews xx

  • SHite....My comment is for us gals in the us...U can always rent this from netfliks....I cant find this anywhere....:( this actor is so under rated...Best Version of Nicholas Nikelby <3...

  • He WAS the best Nicholas Nickelby...Its so sad that he didnt get critital acclaim for this...and some other idiot did...Forget his name (he was blonde) but still the was the best one. He is so under-rated, Its so not fn fair...and poor smike :( U guys can always rent it on netficks :)

  • Thankyou so much

  • I love this version. Thanks for letting me know how you feel.

  • youre welcome!it's fantastic!

  • he's gorgeous!i love him

  • 0:48 I love that actor who made the movie could "Finguer smith", very lovely film....

  • i know he was a lawyer in bleak house..

  • I don't remember... I saw a lots of movies from BBC... because are so well done, are so sensible, and so realy in life.. and lovely them all.. I dont remember Bleak House.. and I did seeit.. but i'll take a watch again..

That movie looks fantastic.. I want to wee it.. but how is it exactely could? Nicolas Nickleby? That man looks horrible!! Poor boy!! alwais disasters as in real life...

  • James D'Arcy was a beautiful man in that movie. Dicken's period clothing really suits his tall frame. It also really brings out his eyes.

  • I've seen him in a couple other things, and he's beautiful anyway. LOL!! You are right though, this film really suited him all the way around.

  • Smike turned out to be pretty handsome too. The poor thing. I wanted to cuddle him for most of the movie.

  • I agree 100%.

  • thanks for sharing all your videos!! ^^
