They all have their place, but one is designed to to a job the other really can't do. But, if you are on a budget and you can't afford both, get the Yamaha or the Roland, they have their major pros.
This was the Moog that put Moog OUT of business. I have an LP as well...a Stage I with OS 2.00 and Stage II side panel. How do you like yours? Are you a Moog Forum member?
I still have to upgrade mine to OS2.00. I love my LP, but doesn't get played NEARLY as much as it used to since I bought my Motif a couple months ago. I signed up for the moog forum, but I still don't know if I'm a member yet. lol
i remember being in a studio back in '93 when a bunch of aspiring electro musicians were using one for a lead line. The guy stuck it in unison without telling anyone...
* it destroyed the channel strip on the desk
* it damaged the monitors
* it eventually burst into flames
DO NOT question the power of this synth...it can kill if necessary ;-) (the power supply needs a mod, after that, its more stable, but the SOUND IS AS LETHAL AS EVER..MAGIC!)
Like a "Mini" but5 with a heck of a lot more modulation routing/ :) Subtract about 95 to 100 pounds and you have it's weight :). The MM was around 55 to 60 pounds.
The Memory Moog has a lot of punch, can move walls or be mellow with enough warmth to take a chill of a cold room :):)

Hi Friend, sincerely congratulations for the beautiful instrumentation, beautiful and splendid synthesizers demo well done.
I now consider purchasing memorymoog, but before buy I try it sounds library.
At the end, I ask kindly if you help find audio files with Memorymoog programs, for use with cassette interface.
Thank you again for your willingness and competence.
best regards

I think this was the last piece of equipment Moog put out before they went out of business in the 80's.
Yes, I know that Moog exists today, I've got a LP.

quite simple... it's a MOOG!

Why is it that there's always at least one retard per synth video on youtube saying how they "love these cheesy synths?"
Time to put down those 80's video games and learn something about electronic music, kids. Fucking twats.

Mmmnnn - hello, goodbye and good night.
Come back when you've grown up and learned something. (Don't worry, there's no hurry :)

Yeah, how could you say it's cheezy? This is one of the most useful and versatile piece of equipment that Mood Music ever put out.

It took someone that long to get the joke. :)
I played one of these not even a week ago. Big. Maybe even too big. Now I know why some folks intentionally disable voices on this thing.

a sound can never be too big

there is nothing cheezy about analog synths.
Now digital workstations like the triton and motif are serious cheez.
