  • Is that a black Moor in the tank with it? O.o Cause I was wanting to get a 75 gallon Long tank, and have two of the Axies, and I currently have Two black moor, but I wasnt sure if they could be housed together. I've had my Black moor for about a year, and I wouldnt want anything to happen to them, or for them to interfere with the Axies habitat. :D

  • @chokenwonderland Prolly not they will compete and the goldfish will prolly get it first if it floats and the goldish will prolly nip their gills its just not a good idea even though i love goldfish they are rewally a species only animal

  • @ctarshis01 @chokenwonderland Yes, it's a moor and an orange goldfish. They dodn't nip gills, as the axolotls were eager enough to nip fish ;-) however, I did get rid of the fish. The reason was that they grew so tame (I handfed the fish) that they would be in the way when I was trying to feed the axies ^_^

  • She's a beauty!

  • hes cute

  • CHANGE THE GRAVEL! SERIOUSLY!

  • @flimda Read the description. Seriously :-)

  • @KarinUtrecht ok maybe i was a bit hasty, but thats because one of my axolotls died last week ;_;

    how is spot doing?

  • @flimda Ow, so sorry to hear that :'(

  • Punk axolotl! :D

  • I love the coloring!!! Can you tell me what kind of Axie it is?

  • @shadowsflamechick It looks like a leucistic, it just has more of the gray speckling (making up over half of its body color) than most do. It still has the bright pink gills like leucistics and albinos do, and lots of leucistics have gray over part of their face. This Axie is very cute because it's so rare to see the gray extend that far.

  • @funnycolorz1 It's called piebald. A very pretty piebald ;-)

  • @shadowsflamechick The coloration is called piebald.

  • hes Fabulous

  • Her gills are so pink! Does she have Spice Girl in her blood or is she channeling Lady Gaga?

  • How can i get one of these cute little bastards!

  • What a beautiful Axolotl!

  • how do you get one

  • oh my god, it's sooo beautiful! what's um... the type?

  • Comment removed

  • she has a sexy headgear

  • Your Axolotl is a nice colour

  • Its so hard to keep them alive. I have got two at one is not feeling well when i saw it it looked dead but it wasn't. I have to keep changing the ph water

  • @MrLily443 please go to caudata dot org, membership is free. there's an axolotl forum there, with lots of people who can help you. keeping axolotls is not hard, but maybe you're missing a detail. please ask them for help, they know what to do.

  • @KarinUtrecht how much do they cosyT? and do they are hard like too feed or they need special things in the water?

  • i've been researching this animal and have been very interested in obtaining one as a pet. are you happy with yours? any pointers you might provide?

  • @angelsgrace16 very happy with my pet axies. just don't expect a very loving or active animal, most of the time they just sit there. for proper care, please have a look at the axolotl forum on caudata.org . there's also lots of information on how to set up your tank.

  • @KarinUtrecht I'd say they do move. I've got two of them, one golden and one wild type. Maybe they're keeping each other more active, tho. And I'd say they're pretty loving too, always looking at you when you wake up in the morning and when you're on the computer right beside the tank and so on! Guess it's different from axolotl to axolotl too. Lovely animals with great personalities tho!

  • @Seidowh I agree with you, I thouroughly enjoy their company. However some people will be a little disappointed that you can't actually "play" with them like with a puppy :-)

  • @Seidowh my 2 are the same. i have a leucistic and a wild type male and female. they come to the edge of the tank, feed from my hand and will sit on my hand too as long as its under the water. the female one is quite shy stays in their tunnel a lot of the time but they both have an awesome feeding response.

  • @mrdangerous667 That's sweet!

  • ITS SO CUTE!

  • Ahhhh qué ajolote tan pero tan bonito... !Yo quiero uno!

  • Cryptozoology novel see video book trailer

  • Ja zeker, ik wil erook een!!!

  • is this axolotl high on chlorine or something because it crashed into a couple of rocks more then once

  • i just got 3 babies! they are in a 40 gallon breeder for now, but its PENTY of room for them! spot looks amazing!

  • what......

  • You should get rid of that pea gravel! Sand or a bare bottom tank is better as axolotls will gladly eat that gravel which can lead to fatal intestinal impaction.

  • Your axie is absolutely beautiful. I have to say I am jealous.

  • Your axi is gorgeous!! Jealous much :)

  • hey can you tell me what type your axolotl is?

  • @owlpoptart this type of colour is called piebald

  • @absolutelyQT are you in the u.s? or on caudata? i was wondering where you got your axie from she is beautiful i currently have a golden albino gfp :]

  • Fish:Hey beautiful, wanna go out?

    Spot: >;(

    Fish: Oh..uh..err never mind. =/

  • can u hold them

  • @50centmarian not really, they have a slime skin which can be damaged easily

  • can y hold them

  • Spot is verry beutiful, her coulors are just amazing (:

I have an Axo named Nessy, but he's a boy and I just wanted one Axo named like the Monster of Lock Ness, so I didn't give him another name ;D

  • Spot has a very interesting appearance. Is his genetic makeup some combination of leucistic and melanoid?

  • @Peter5930 That is a leucistic with a lot of melanophores.

  • @Peter5930 it's leucistic with a lot of melanophores (freckles). it is referred to as piebald. :-)

  • Hands down the cutest little thing i have evr seen!

  • your axo's gills are so pretty!

  • How can you tell if they are girls or not?

  • @LELsings girls are rounder, and have no protruding cloaca

  • where can i get one of these in the us? I live in Louisiana. also can they live in a 30 gallon tank?

  • @memyselfandi337 you can learn everything about axolotlcare on caudata dot org

  • @Lerm53 you can learn everything about axolotlcare on caudata dot org

  • how do u tell if there female - the gill color?-

  • @TheEmchu body shape. girls are rounder and have no protruding cloaca.

  • So, I herd u liek Whoopers.

  • Spot is absolutely beautiful! I would love to come across one with coloring like that. Do you know what it's called? I have a regular wild colored one and an albino one. I'm hoping that one day they produce a gold.

  • I have axolotl eggs, My axolotl Parents are ( mother white) Father black)

You think I'll get that same weird combination becouse that on is really awesome (L)!!!!!

  • i've never seen an axolotl with that sort of coloring before. where did you get her?

  • WHY DID YOU DYE THE GILLS PINK ;D

  • can i hold them with big snails (2-3centimeters) in a 60 gallon (200liter) aquarium?

  • @Bamchikibam big snails are no problem (although I think most big snails can't cope with the cold water). In a 200 liter aquarium you can keep 1 or 2 axolotls :-)

  • @KarinUtrecht One day I was told that in a 30 gal, I could keep up to 3. I just got two babies for xmas, I only have a 28gal. o_O

  • @SuperMac18ROX33 you can learn everything about axolotlcare on caudata dot org

  • OMG SO PRETTY I WANT IT!!

  • If you ever think of breeding her i'd be interested in buying some babies =]

  • so beautiful color!

  • how do you know if its a boy or a girl

  • @danny918ify its a girl it says in the title

  • wow that one looks awesome love how it looks! what type is it????? i have a lecustic and shes all pink with black eyes

also noticed you have fish with it? how does that work out? as was thinking about doing this?what kinda fish are they gold?

  • @nebbzfrp thanks :-)

The fish were put in the tank as live food. They've outgrown the axies now. And have learned in the process to keep their distance. So they do not nibble on the axies. They are goldfish yes. Neon tetras are also a good match (for a week or two) ;-)

  • ITS BEAUTIFUL! her colours are completely gorgerous =D!

  • where do you get them?

  • wauw he'se beautyfull!

    whit that pink

    i want an axolotl to!

  • how do you tell whether a axolotl is a girl or boy ?

  • beautiful colour

  • I need to get my Axolotl a girl like this! Hopefully he wont eat her feet off, then.

  • ur axolotl is beautiful. love the colors!

  • can these things walk on land for awhile? not live but just for a few minutes or something?

there like fish versions of lizards :p

  • @humptybon they cant live outside of the water.

Actually, they can undergo a metamorphosis to become a land salamander. But it's a stressful and irreversible process. Axolotls are special huh :-)

  • :O What breed is she i want one! Iv got standered pink but shes beautiful! :D

  • Omg it's a shiny axolotl where's my master ball?

  • Wow. your axie is so beautiful!! What colour is she?? i have never seen that colour before.

  • Wow I love this axolotl. I'm trying to buy a couple of my own but haven't had much luck finding any. I've tried exotic pets but they only sell the gold colour. Is spot a wild type? Any advice would be apreciated :)

  • @bloodlust2008 piebald axolotls are quite rare. you can't breed them, either. it's just a matter of luck.

  • where can u buy a axolotl and doesnt that axolotl makes ur parents freak out or somethin

  • @AznDevil1019 you can learn everything about axolotlcare on caudata dot org

  • is this a juvenile of a black and albino one?

  • @axolotlwithexotics I'm not familiar with the parents, but I know you can't breed piebald colour variations. it's something that just happens.

  • So... I herd you liek Mudkips...

  • mexicans also can be cute ;3

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That axolotl has BEAUTIFUL colours!

  • is that a combo between a black and white axolotl breeding ?

  • Such a beautiful axolotl you have there.

  • I love her colors! Do you happen to know where I can get one like that in Belgium, Holland or Germany?

  • please reply. i recently bought a new axolotl. i put them in the same tank. they are the same size.i watched for awhile and one of them kept biting the others tail. im not sure if there a boy or a girl their both around 6 inches. i have read that some stores sell tiger salamander larvae under the name of 'axolotl'.ones is black and one is blackish/charcoal grey. i am concerned about this. i have not heard of this before,

  • wooahh it's gorgeous, so unlike all the others. speckled gray with hot pink feathery gills. so attractive. i've always loved and wanted an axolotl, i don't think i've ever seen one quite like this. are they rare? did your buy yours or breed it?

  • Wow, your axolotl is beautiful, I love her colors! :D

  • Now that is actually beautiful. I don't want to say this, but yours is so much prettier than mine :) Mine has a big of maroon on it's gill things but I so wish it was as vibrant as yours. That's simply beautiful.

  • I want one so freaking bad! And I just found out about them about 3 minutes ago! :)

  • you need to get bigger stones in the tank or switch to sand or ure axie could swallow the stones and get impacted :( shes beautiful though i love her pink gills :D

  • Ooooh... Pretty morph...

  • wow thats such a pretty axolotl!! :D

  • Omg you need to put bigger stones in becuse it swallowns them and then it stay's in her body forr a month then it get;s stuck
