@Fetch26291 disregarding the fact that part of the alcohol evaporates during the coking process, you would have to eat the entire batch of applesauce to get the very slightest buzz in your head. Heavy liquors like cognac bring out some really mellow spicy flavors in things like applesauce. I'm sure the recipe would also taste good without it, though.

@RainOnTheWindow it is... the trick is getting all ingredients on a single bite and you're in heaven. try making the salad with a pear if you like...also good!

Actually there is something that can be done with the apple peal. My Grandmother use to batter dip and deep fry the peals. There is also an old tradition of tossing the peel over your left shoulder and then turning clockwise to look at it. The idea is that the initials of your future love would be in the way the Peel fell.
