Any chance that Clifford Brown is in the trumpet section? We know he recorded with Hamp's big band in the fall of 1953 (with Quincy Jones and Art Farmer also in the section).
After Milt Buckner's locked hands piano solo the jam session evolves into Quincy 'Thriller' Jones' classic 1951 bop arrangement 'Gabby's Gabbin'. That could be Mr.Jones in the trumpet section and maybe Gil Bernal on tenor sax. My fave tenor man of the period was Johnny Board, who played an amazing solo on'Gates Steps Out' another 50s rave up. That's Billy Mackel on guitar and drummer Ellis Bartee (?) providing the backbeat. Miraculous viewing for all Hampton Big Band fans.
