  • When I was 17 years old I met the love of my life but I cheated on her as many stupid young guys do and I lost her, the hurt stayed for many years for the love of my life , I went to our 45th class reunion and there she was the first class reunion I ever saw her at beautiful as ever my heart was pounding so fast I didn't know what to do, I am an old man now but she is in my arms again and I will never let her go, oh and we got married I am a very lucky and blessed man to be given a 2nd chance.

Not to take away from other artists. But B2M had that special something not heard from since this long gone era. Keep music's history alive especially this kind. TY for the post :)

  • What is so special about this and all the other music of the era is not only the beautiful vocals but also the entire orchestration of horns and strings. I don't know if the R&B artists & writers of today can duplicate it. Damn, this is just beautiful music.

  • @XxRadientStarxX

Betcha By Golly Wow, sonud like a Gomer Pyle quote however, real "talent" can turn such phrase into a Billboard Hot 100 No. 3 hit - 1972

Real "talent"...we need MORE of it.

    Thanks for posting

  • I'm 66 years old and my children range in age from 34-40 and they along with me love this group even though they were raised with disco and all the stuff that followed. Just goes to show you that good music can connect generations!

  • HELLO, SOOOO PRETTY!!! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES AND THE FUN,TOM D. BRICK,NJ. {AT THE SHORE}.

  • When the Stylistics come to your town, you've GOT to see them. My husband and I saw them in Rochester NY. It took us back to a time when not only couples cared about each other, but families were families and neighborhoods were safe, we looked out for each other then... This song touches your heart like none other

  • @wayd2003

Violent crime is way lower now and there is some great music being made now, too. Nobody plays the terrible old music...just the good stuff like this.

As Carly Simon said..."These are the good ole days"

  • When the Stylistics come to your town, you've GOT to see them. My husband and I saw them in Rochester NY. • One of the greatest jams of all time. My Dad, brother and I would sing this. Those were fun days. The young folks have a right to express their music. There is good rap and some really great hip hop stuff out there. The early gangsta rap glorified the "Ghetto/Gangsta" life and lifestyle, along with MTV, BET and tremendous marketing of the record labels...They will see as they get older that real life is how YOU live it not what you see in the video...

    PEACE & LOVE TO ALL

  • Already I'm visualizing the purple and orange Avco record label spinning on the turntable.

  • This is real music right here this song is one of my favorite

  • TheBod420 LOL, Buh, Eyee Yo I Still Like This Song; My Dad Used To Listen To It. Ahaa. Dawg, Dont Be Trippin. If U Dont Like It Then You Dont LIke It. Dont Be All Up And Baggin On Other People Who Do

  • Whoever the people that dislike this song is a FUCKIN SHAME of the human race

  • This is the type of music along with gospel, jazz and blues BET should be playing. No rap and no hip hop.

  • This is real music!!! They don't make songs like this anymore. everybody wants to sing about who sleeping with who or about how to kill.

  • @lbbrownsugar7 or that life is all about partying and calling youself after a pronoun :)

  • Now this is music. In fact, I currently have it on my cell phone alarm clock & wake up to this every day. Love it!

  • I was 14 years old when this song became my first real girlfriend's theme song to me she said. We "NOW" have a 35 year son and a 14 year old granddaughter.

  • @shadesmagazine

    Amazing and so wonderful!!! Congrats!

  • @shadesmagazine Shoot! mad props, respect, love, and blessings......this really is baby making music huh!

  • @shadesmagazine ......amazing ..thats beautiful

  • @flacoiizhigh Thanks. I wish like Bryant437 said, "Longing for the days when young people had much respect for the way things were."

  • @shadesmagazine I LOVE IT.....God has truly blessed you and yours:)

  • @55peachpie Thank you. I really believe so.

  • @shadesmagazine, awesome!

  • Agree with Dick Clark that this is one of the best written songs and sung songs ever made

  • This was back when Gentlemen Had respect for Lovely Ladies, Who in turn had total respect and dignity for themselves. There are still plenty of ladies and gentlemen out there today, its just unfortunately not main stream. Its all gold grills and ho's. I wish they still had music with real instrumentation in it. I miss the sound of the brass band in the background.

  • @Bryan437 Well said!

  • @Bryan437 You speak of a segment of the population, that was there too, only you didn't see it.

  • @Bryan437 Hell yeah, thats so true. The world has changed so much since then.

  • todays music is turning into disco and techno. i like neither. how many songs can you make about how much money you got , or how many ho's like you?

  • Betcha By Golly.....this is one hell of a song!

  • Alright, I'm either making a time machine, or get these people to to write and make REAL MUSIC like back in the day.

  • Oh the memories. I first made out to this song when I was 15. We played it over and over. I thought is was the best song ever and I was with a wonderfull girl. Oh to go back again. AH

  • to this day, I still get tears for the love lost when I hear this song. How I would go back to the 70"s in a blink of an eye, Best years of my life and the best music ever made. Thanks for the memories

  • An all time great song

  • The falsetto, such a standard of the time. Love it.

  • I LOVE U GORDA!!!!FROM UR DADDY DEMON...

  • my favorite lyrics in this song is "candyland appears each time you smile" and "betcha by golly wow". i wish a boy would come up to me saying that. that would make my day :)

  • there is no music like this anymore and never will be. thank God we can still listen to it.

  • Doesn't get much better than this.

  • omg, i wish dudes could say things like this 2 us girls, and mean it!!!! lol

  • @mdt6176 Yeah but when guys do say things like this to women and express their true feelings, they get called soft. Women don't want gentlemen anymore, they want the thugs the gangstas and the d-boys who insult them, lie to them, hurt them and disrespect them.... Women say they want a good man, but they don't want a good man...

  • @AGLegend01 I do believe you are generalizing and confusing 'real' women with the current, upcoming generation. 'REAL' women do not find men who express their feelings... soft. Us 'real' women consider those kind of guys 'real' men. I wish the young women of today would wake up and see what they are truly missing. I have three sons(teenagers and one 23 yr old) and I brought them up to respect women. If ever see or hear of them disrespecting a woman... there will be hell to pay with MAMA!

  • @AGLegend01 Men cannot be soft if their penises are hard. The proof is in the pudding.

  • @AGLegend01 I will have to say that when girls are young what you said is true. The "cool" dudes are good looking heart breakers. Later on after we've had enough of that we learn that we'd much rather have a more average looking guy who will be soft and caring. At least that is the way it worked for me.

  • @mdt6176 im saying it now baby..

  • great song..philly soul great...any imitation can bite it...stylistics the only 1 for this song......

  • I am not spam so stop flagging me as if I am, if u check out my page you'll see that. Check out my cover song with Bruno Mars that I did awhile back in 2005. It's a remake of this song, we only did 2 verses and it was acoustic. Spread the word n check out my page when y'all can, God bless.

  • Reminds me of a day in 7th grade---with my first love, Beth

  • They to me are one of the greatest groups ever in the history of music. The sound of Philadelphia and the Motown sound of Detroit Michigan produce probably the greatest collection of groups and single acts the world has ever known. The 60's & 70s produced in my opinion the greatest music artist ever in the history of Rock & Roll.

  • This song goes out to my best friend who i love<3 but cant be. He is what i always wanted. such a beautiful song

  • this is for real pimps n players real love music

  • Back then songs were about love and romance. Unlike the music of today.

  • I love this song because in 1999 my youngest daughter was born and I used to play the cover song of Betcha By Golly Wow by Prince but, I still love the original.

  • write your name across the sky love dat part

  • @okesaita Wow! you're old!

  • Wow, this song brings back so many great memories from the 70s! 70's music is the best!

  • This song will make you cry it sounds SOOOO good!!!!

  • I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!! Brings back so many childhood memories!!

  • The Stylistics are one of the greatest vocal groups of all time. While some groups of the 70's were just stumbling upon arrangements by chance, these guys were painstakingly and masterfully blending sophisticated harmonies and intricate orchestrations together to make music on par with the classics of classical music. The Stylistics, the Delphonics, Blue Magic and music producer Thom Bell are all manufacturers and architects of this classy sophisticated soul.

  • I am a rock n roller, but in 72 I played in a horn band with a chick singer and we played this song and style of music. I love it! One of the greatest singers.

  • I put many a mile on a '64 Chevy Impala while listening to the Stylistics. When I was in high school (small town, pop. 14,000 in East TX), you were SOMEBODY if you were cruising with Motown blaring from your vehicle.

  • @lisa3754 .....Wow...I was cruisin the gut in college, in a 63 Impala SS...Thanks for the memories, of warm summer nights...my girl next to me, and this beautiful song coming out of my Muncie 8-track... I lived in Pendleton, Or... (Pop. 15,000) and was the home of the world famous "Pendleton Round Up"..And I had "Motown" blaring too...Of course in the early 70's we could buy "bootleg" 8-tracks @ places like "Rebels" and every little gas station in town sold em...RickzzSands...AKA Mr. Las Vegas

  • <3333333

  • I think this is probably the best love song of all times.

  • I'm 25 years old and I would Rather listen to this instead of that New School Satanic B.S on the T.V AND RADIO! I love Old school Music! 70's, 80's, and 90's music!

  • to growing up on Easter Parkway in BK !!

  • Between Russell Thompkins, Eddie Kendricks, or Phillip Bailey I don't know who has the smoothest falsetto. I can't choose so I am just going to continue to listen and love all three of them.

  • 6/5/95

This was my wedding song. Love it...

  • Is it weird that I'm 18 and loving this kind of music and hates everything about this punk ass newschool shit? Anyway, it's the summertime, and I grew up on this. When I was real little, my dad had all the 80s r&b, this was in 1994, and he had the 70s r&b cassette tapes and I listened to it so much I just love it to the core.

  • the spirit of music back in the day was so much more beautiful

  • i love this song tho back foreal

  • 1970...wow... ten or eleven years old...seventh grade, dancing at the lunch time 'sock hops' in middle school... to this song... with a girl about six inches taller than me.

Precious memories of being young. I'm sure glad I grew up in the years I did, we had the best music of all...the late 60's and early 70's...ahh...what ballads and R&B we had!

  • A Perfect Song.
