My husband and I was in Cahuita this pass July we rode push bikes through the whole trail that runs along side the beach. We rode scooters over to Puerto Viejo which is not very far at all. We went horse back riding in the jungle and ziplined 6 all the way back to the horse ranch. Went snorkeling with that same guy on that boat. We had a great time however, the bus from San Jose to Cahuita is very long.

Agreed. Everyone told me continuously that my camera and mp3 player would get stolen in S America. Not once. It's called looking after yourself and your possessions; be aware, not paranoid.

@summerraen - I agree. When I stayed in Limon, some European tourists did get their equipment stolen...but they left it unguarded. I've been to CR twice and have never had anything but positive experience. Caution is necessary EVERYWHERE. Love CR. Going to go back again next year.

If so, I find peculiar how so many people from all over the world move here to the US to have a "Better Life" and every chance they get...they say say all of these things about how bad and horrific the United States is. I don't know about you, but in my case, I have the benefit of having two citizenships, being Costarrican and from United States. I said full blood cuz my parents, and my grandparents as well were full blood Costarricans, I might have a lil bit of Spaniard, but despite that, I consider myself COSTARRICAN, and from UNITES STATES AS WELL. The whole and main reason of my comment was comparative because I can live, say and do whatever I want in both countries. And because I know both.

I simply asked a question rooted in the fact, that I have met people from all over Latin American. And they go on & on about "ALL OF THE ILLS" of America. yet continue live, work and educate their children here. Since I live here, I have decided to stay and do everything possible to make it a better place for me and my family. I could complain, Insult peoples manhood, work ethic, ancestry and use harsh language and profanity....But that would speak VOLUMES ABOUT MY CHARACTER!!!!
