  • i need to teach my horse how to ride without no bridle, cause she doesnt like the bit. any tips please

  • Great job. Nice to see, no hardware !

  • So nice to see a well executed freestyle with the horse and rider both remaining so relaxed, no tail swishing, no shaking of the head, no crookedness, and no other signs I can see of the horse being at all tense or upset. liked =D

  • Favorited!

  • @eventerkatie84 Not every rider 'yank and see-saw' at there horses mouths.... Video is lovely to watch and a lovely partnership between horse and rider!

  • @eventerkatie84 Not every rider 'yank and see-saw' at there horses mouths

  • Kinda cool but all movements were performed flat and poor quality. No expression.

  • This proves that everything is possible without a bit! I love it!

  • It is amazing!

  • This old timer certainly knows what he's doing :)

  • i wish i could have ridden my TB up to the age of 25 ):

  • rider must be new to dressage...

  • @katchkittie How so? Bet you wouldn't be able to do this. Don't comment if you're just going to be negative!

  • @katchkittie U obviously have idea who that is.

  • fab, what a joy to see.. shame on the so called pros. that have to have every gadget on the horse's mouth and still cant stop it, brillant.!!

  • For an old guy he sure looks darn good. Amazing skill with seat and legs only! I hope one day to be this talented.

  • This video is of my dressage coach Elaine Banfield riding Earl Grey at Pine Ridge Equine Park, Manitoba

  • who is the rider?

  • Is this at Pine Ridge Equine Park?

  • THAT;S MY MUMMY

  • wow thats really impressive riding and the horse is really concentrating 2!

  • Gourgous horse! Lovley dressage!

  • amazing :)

  • I'm not really that impressed. No, my two horses can't do that. But I'm sure if they were 25 years old and knew their job so well, and every leg cue, they could. Now, if he were more relaxed and anticipating less and made less attacks, I'd be more impressed. I didn't say I'm not impressed at all, btw.

  • @boofypony i think you have to view this as the communication and not the finess. even the top dressage riders with all the gadgets still have horses that are tense and anticipate moves in dressage. she is riding here from her legs not her hands, i think you have missed the point!!

  • very nice indeed! this is truely beautiful and the way Dressage should be riden....complete communication between horse and rider! AWESOME!

  • Lovely to see. Beautifully tuned couple! x

  • cccccccccooooooooooooooooooooollllllllllll

  • Love it & the horse reminds me of my 18 yr old TB!

  • AMAZING~

  • Very inspiring :-) Love it :-)

  • That's beautiful! That is REAL dressage!

  • Woow!! I Love It. An Inspiration To Those Who Bully Their Horses Into Outlines With Tons Of Gadgets. Must Have Taken Patience And Love To Achieve This Bond!! Nice To See xx

  • aaww cute thoroughbred, I love thoroughbreds.

  • This is FABULOUS! Keep doing what you're doing!

  • any well trained horse should be able to go brideless to some extent, but how many of them could actually sidepass with the correct bend without a bridle? i'm impressed.

  • Well done!

  • This is exactly what I want to do with my horse. It's been a dream of mine for a long time. Absolutely amazing.

  • i just loved watching your video, lets hope we see some more people doing this in the future, your an inspiration.

  • haha, good try :)

  • This is amazing! I wish my stubborn mare would go this round WITH a bridle! What an awesome horse.

  • This is an awesome horse and rider! It's amazing how collected this horse stays even without the bridle. Most horses will go bridleless nice for a few minutes and then they realize they can slack off but this horse is awesome the whole time!! WOW!

  • Just beautiful.

  • What a bond! Wish more people could see this video! Shows that riders and their horses CAN have strong bonds without Natural Horsemanship! I do some TTouch and I want to be able to do this someday! Is he an OTTB?

  • Wow, that's so great!!! A performance full of harmony and difficult exercises, well done!

    lg

  • this video is amazing!! Good job!!

  • WOW BEAUTIFUL you have much to be proud of - THIS is how I would like to see Lily and me ride one day :)

  • As well, I'm so happy to see people using thoroughbreds.

  • awesome =)

  • Great! You and your horse seem to be a perfect team. People who prefer hyperflexion to win a tournament should watch you first!

  • whats his name? he's a lil' huni! :-) xxx

  • Awesome job!!!

  • well done! FIVE STARS to you both!

  • Sensational! I think every rider should watch this before they yank and see-saw at their horses mouths...

Absolutely beautiful. Great vid, 5 stars from me! xx

  • I remember kyrklund saying about the handposition "imagine you´re holding the handle of a glass full of water".. how about adding another line? "imagine you´re riding without bits" :) Very inspirational vid I think. Makes one think about MANY things the next time they ride with bits *nods*

  • u guys are right this video does truley go to show your legs are musch more effective then your hands! truely amazing!!

  • wow..... REALLY nice.. not jaw-dropping movement, but an amazing relationship.. A++++ no matter.

  • This is fantastic! To me, this is what dressage is truly about - dancing with your horse. And what a lovely pair. Beautiful horse, clearly enjoying himself and very attentive. I love to see thoroughbreds doing dressage, and this fellow is lovely.

Thanks for shasring this beautiful video.

  • hes really pretty

  • amazing!!

  • how do her legs need to come forward exactly ? :L

she did an amazing job with that horse :L. the horse wouldn't have performed as well as that if she was riding carelessly

    x

  • Now thats a horse! :D

what a great video.. just shows yah how effective leg is over hand . fab! :D

    XX

  • it just goes to show,

the feet came before the bridle!

    awesome!

  • Woho! beautiful dressage!

  • what a good boy!

  • wow! amazing, very inspirational :)

  • what a grand old fellow he is !!!! and what a great demonstration of riding and horsemanship.

  • I loved her flying lead changes! This is pretty darn amazing.

  • Beautiful job ...without "forcing" the horse or inflicting pain! This is true horsmanship! To hell with Anky and those like her!!!

  • @ruddy1995 What are u? A Western rider? Jeeze!

  • This video has made my day. Just made my day.

What a wonderful display of horsemanship.

Nothing but the truth. WOW WOW WOW!!

  • is that you!!!

omg i thought my horse was good at dressage and sj but yours is magnificent!

  • Lovely to see the dear old horse so free in his movement still at 25!- rollkur enthusiasts, eat your heart out!!

  • wow that is the most amazing thing i have ever seen

  • verry good =)

  • Wonderful! And 25 years of age!

  • how wonderful to see a horse actually enjoy himself and be proud and give freely

  • this was a program I was putting together , not all the movements in the program quite worked out exactly ,when asked to do a demo I had not ridden him for this kind of performance for awhile , thus the saddle now we do it bareback and bridless ... its just for fun ...he's older and I will not MAKE him do this where he would have to really SIT etc. its just alot of fun he enjoys the attention and people really enjoy watching him , he's just so DARN CUTE !!! :) I love him

  • That's really impressive without a bridle! And the effort the horse is making on his own to hold his head correctly is amazing!

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that was really good and awesome that it was without a bridle

  • impressionant !!

mais pourquoi garder la bride en main ? ca doit gêner, non?

  • This is awsome because it really shows where the horse wants to hold their head in this performance instead of being held up really tight.

  • wow that is impressive

  • very nice. love your horse and you ride great =]

  • Bravo!

  • Doesn't Earl look great? He's a cutie! You look awesome too Ma. xoxox

  • hopefully this will prove to riders that its all in the legs and there is no need to yank your horses mouth to pieces. Very well ridden, position is most enviable (:

  • Very cool! For those that want to know, this is Elaine Banfield (she's my coach). Yes, off the track Thoroughbreds who raced CAN do piaffe and passage, and stay sound into their 20's!

  • That's my mommy! Whoooo go MA!

  • That's great that you can do this at such a young age! I conldn't do this until i was 17!

  • @dressage44life LOL SHE'S FORTY!

  • that is soooo cool!!! ur horse is great!!!

  • This is very cool! What a great partnership! Horse and rider truly enjoy each other.
