  • I guess, this is Placido's song and no one can sing lt like him!!! ...and his voice is still the most beautiful and colorful! Viva Placido!!!!

  • I certainly notice slight wavering in Domingo's voice now, but that is only because of age. Despite this, he can still sing well! :) I applaud him for his longetivity.

  • Pavarotti retired at 70, but Domingo apparently doesn't want to retire yet! I think Domingo started transposing his songs by the time he reached his 60s, when he realized he could not hit high notes like he used to. I believe this will let him keep singing until he is well in his mid-70s. But we never know.

  • @31operafan I have already listened to old recording with Domingo transposing operas down before the age of 35. He is done it throughout his career.

  • @mrluistena I think that's just a way for him to preserve his voice. This has given him the ability to have such an astoundingly long career.

  • @31operafan I cannot agree. Domingo´s high register has never been outstanding. He decided at the beggining of his career to sing every role he finds in his way, and we all know the danger for that. In order to preserve a voice for a long time with all its skills and quality you ought to sing only what its good for you and concentrate in a solid tecnique. Then the results are huge. Tell Alfredo Kraus about it.

  • Amazing, considering not just their years, but their long operatic careers. Those voices have PERFORMED for decades. Greatness remains great.
