To be honest, they both (baby mama & child's mother) sound disrespectful. The best term to use is "My Ex". Because there is no need for anyone to know this person is the mother your child except if asked. So in my view, "My Ex" sound/feels really acceptable.

As a father if my wife & I were to separate & she was to refer to me as her"baby daddy" I'd feel disrespected without a doubt. Thats an unneeded label that has been made popular in the last 10-15 yrs by the irresponsible people who have children with various people. While watching this video, I kept thinking of the songs by B-Rock and The Bizz "My Baby Daddy" and Fantasia "Baby Mama" LOL ["Who that is? My baby daddy... That's just my baby daddy." (album scratch) "This goes out to all the baby mamas."] I think how the child's parent is referred to should matter to the parents and the child. I don't think most mothers think of themselves just as a "baby mama" or a father as a "baby daddy". I think both parents should come to an agreement on a term to use.
