This method works great! Here's some advice me and my buddies learned the hard way. Stomp on or remove all loose snow from the site before you start piling, as it would weaken the walls. Do this not just under the walls but the whole area because it is easy to lose positioning. Don't push/kick up from the inside, as that may trigger a collapse. Keep your head up when digging because if the immense mass of the roof comes down on you and you are lying down and alone, that will be the end of you.
Wonderful video!! Very funny, I love the songs, it's like those 20's movies!!! Great job!! Maybe you should be working at Scott-Amundsen Station (South Pole)!!! Lol! I love the radio! Congratulations!!!
Steve... Nice digs! Spartan Sprint was a bust for us down here in Texas. I only got 5 Q's but one was with John PJ4/K5BAI so that was at least worth the time.
Steve, well done, as always. Good narration, instruction, and what a great twist on the hobby. Makes working the radio an adventure! I gotta get out more. Right now, I'm living vicariously through you!
Only thing missing is an "ice shelf" fer dem dere Rollin Rox. 40 degrees is perfect for a "cold one." Looks like a Polar Bear den to me! GRRRRRRRRRR! FB on working Judge John Laney III for DX! Ken Bear WA8REI
wow that is awesome!! Very nice on that snow cave! Stupid question is it noticeably warmer inside the snow cave then outside? Keep up the good work :) 73s ke5rrh
It stays a pretty constant temp inside and very calm so no wind chill! And if your dressed for it it's really very comfortable. I've slept in them before with a 20F bag and wasn't cold. 73, Steve
