Boxing = worldwide UFC = North America, and some parts of Europe. In time though UFC will grow just like boxing but atm Boxing makes more money in PPV

Silva vs. Machida would be a more interesting match than GSP vs. Silva. Silva is more of a 205er than a 185er. One huge problem with the UFC is the ridiculous amount of weight that some of these fighters are cutting. It should be an MMA contest, not a contest to see who can cut more and put more back on the next day. Some fighters may be doing more damage to their body with cutting than they are with fighting. If GSP fought Silva, would it be a 177lb catch? Could Silva even make that?

eh, GSP has said he'll take time to build muscle mass to become a true MW if he were to fight Silva. Anderson gets taken down almost every fight, you think a bigger GSP will let him up? People don't get up from under GSP, that's a fact. It will end in a GNP clinic unless Anderson takes him out quickly on the feet. Given his last performances, I don't think Silva will. Cote and Leites aren't even top competition. GSP owns top competition...

The Pitbull won't beat GSP if he fights the way he has in the past. He does not close distance well and is not aggressive enough. If he comes out the way he has against Koschek, I don't see him winning.

GSP will be in a different world at MW, and the reality is that he might be too small for it.
GSP would be swept by Anderson, his posture would be broken by those long limbs.

Compared to other fighters people statistically don't get up from under GSP. Happy? And what did Serra do after he got up? He got taken down again, every attempt was successfull. GSP is the best wrestler in mma(regardless of credentials). I honestly don't think any WW can stop his TDs. When he bulks up to 185 and fights Silva, Anderson can't stop his TDs because that's his weak part and GSPs strongest part.

Serra got up from under GSP and he is a WW who won't do the cut. Get serious. Anderson is fighting at LHW while GSP has never touched MW. If he takes down Anderson, then what? A.Silva can tie down his opponents in guard and force a standup. GSP bulking up won't help much, he will give up speed & endurance. And he certainly won't get height.

And Serra walked the fence when GSP had underhooks, not side control or side mount. Statistics are the best way to measure something because a skill needs always comparison.
Go check out GSPs stats on fightmetrics if you don't believe me. And yes, bulking up to MW is definitely not a leap for GSP, since he's a huge WW.

First of all, Anderson is a big MW who essentially does not cut for LHW. Second of all, Serra got up without walking the fence once and the other while walking the fence. Either way, HE GOT UP from GSP's side control, proving your initial statement wrong. Third of all, you are a retard GSP nuthugger who simply cannot face the fact that the only true WW (not LW) he has finished in recent history is Matt Hughes, a fighter of the past. Yet for some reason, he is able to stop Anderson, lol.

GSP had undehooks, not side control. I'm not a GSP fan at all, I don't.. like watching gnp for 20 mins. I like striking and bjj more(Silva). Beeing a fan and predicting a fight can never go together for a unbias result, I just point out the obvious-Silva's weak spot is wrestling which is what GSP does best. Since when are they fighting at 205? Anderson has to make the cut, yes he'll be heavier come fight night, but that didn't stop Takase or Chonan, did it? And this was at WW if you get it...

well I couldnt disagree more.. Silva's groudn game looks like a weak spot because you compare it to his stand up game. But in the facts, his ground game is better than most other fighters ground game. He's deadly on every angle even on the ground, he's just less spectacular and he prefers standing up, so he just doesnt try ground unless he has to. Maybe, just maybe, gsp has better ground game, but its not overwhelmingly better.
