@vangoghpro The strap just wraps around a sensitive part of the horses body called the flank. It doesn't have anything to do w/his privates. Most of that has prob been removed. But it is cruel & I also think it is abusive. Not JUST physically but mentally as well. However, I think the worst part of ANY horse sport is all the unwanted babies produced. Rodeos say they breed for buck, so what happens to horses who don't buck? MOST are sent to auction, & bought by kill buyers. same as slow racers

The ones who haven't have their hooves trimmed in years. The ones with teeth so overgrown they can't eat.

This horse is healthy is probably having the time of his life.

I've worked with and owned horses my whole life. Trust me, this is a lucky horse.

I just have to say that Bucking Horses LOVE to buck. They are bred to do just that. Think how nice it is to be a horse that only has to work for 8 seconds a week or month. Compare that to a horse that is ridden after cattle for hours and hours. I'd rather be a bucking horse! Thanks.

@louinwy1 okay i agree with you TO A POINT! but some of the horses in rodeos are green broke by that i mean they've been taught not to fight with you on the ground but have been traumatized by people jumping on their backs and then rewarded with getting someone off their backs by bucking. so in that case rodeo= bad but if we're going with trained BB's then yer i don't mind cause i train Bronchs 2(i do english&western i mainly do dressage but i like to get rowdy too and barrels is are fun way to)

Can we all please just stop fighting? SHARK videos show a lot of things about some rodeos. Note that I said some rodeos. I'm not against those who save animals but not all rodeos are bad. There are rodeos out there that take very good care of their animals. The ones who don't take care of their animals deserve some punnishment. Everyone else is right that tragities happen too. Horses and other animals can get injured for silly things like tripping. I'm on both sides here. Please stop fighting!

I agree, I work and participate in rodeos, in Canada, and I have never, NEVER seen any of the stuff like the stuff in SHARK videos. Heck most of the stuff is illegal in rodeos. And any horse or animal sport has injuries.. it just comes with the territory. Trust me when I say, we take amazing care of the cattle and horses, heck, they get more care than me when I'm working.!

Fancy144 cross country kills horses, showjumping kills horses, racing kills horses, reining can hurt a horse, dressage can hurt a horse, my point is their are trageties in anything you do with a horse. I personally barrel race and my horse loves it. I've been to and work rodeos and I can tell you that some are unkind but the proffesional rodeos the horses and cattle are treated very kindly. The only time they aren't is about the 16 seconds they work a week these horses are also bred to rodeo.

First of all, I would like to speak my mind about rodeos. The people who ride and train LOVE their animals, and most of them are trained to do it. The owners would feel absoulutely terrible if anything happened to their animals. But keep in mind that certain rodeos (non-professional ones usually including gambling, drinking, and injuries) are sometimes cruel to the animals and should treat them better. Please notice NON-PROFESSIONAL!! There is no reason that rodeos should be banned.

First of all the animals don't fight for their freedom. They are trained to buck, as soon as the person is off they go into the gate and back to their pen. THEY KNOW WHAT TO DO! People DO NOT shock horses or whip them until they go insane at rodeos!!! Stabbing bulls with poles and making them die DOES NOT HAPPEN AT RODEOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That sport takes place in Spain for the most part....
