Well, I myself don't like many of those modern "alternative" stagings but this one is actually quite interesting. It's always refreshing to see something new and in fact - something modern for a change. Sometimes you just get sick of those classical opera stagings in the style of 17-18th century.
The interest here I would say is also about the music which is a rarely sung duet between Leporello and Zerlina and takes place in the second act after Don Ottavio's aria (Il mio tesoro), corresponding to scene 10b in the Wiener Fassung. That also is an interest in this wonderful production. The weakest thing here being the girl singing Donna Anna, who by the way will be singing Elsa in Bayreuth this very summer! I found the staging pretty interesting, strong and well done, singers are commited.
I can't say I'm fond of this staging either, but when you're watching Erwin you kind of forget about everything else. I love this duet! It is so fun and vocally it is superb. I love the sound he makes at 2:43. So sexy. Does any one else get hot when they listen to his beautiful voice?
I'm really curious about the staging of this... Anyone know who directed this and how they are intepreting the story? Not a typical staging to say the least, but fun to watch.

Erwin Schrott is so sexy! There should definitely be more good-looking male opera singers.

Who defends opera from the "modern" trash, that
some "directors" invent ? Anachronisms between
tasteless and insane injure the artists and the audience !!!
