  • Only use kit lens to get use to your camera because there all shit! You want to get a L lens like the 24-105mm, expensive but worth it!

  • Do you advice beginners to use an 18-55mm IS lens?

  • @PuppyPowy I would recommend using the kit lens whilst you get to know your camera and learn how to properly use it.

  • I had the 28-135mm but it couldn't get enough resolution out of my 50d. I got the 18-55 and it was much better in terms of resolved resolution. I would say much better. But most lens would lose to the canon ef 50mm for resolution. My next lens purchase will be the ultra wide angle ef-s 10-22 and the ef 70-200mm f4l IS. the ef 70-200mm f4l is is the best lens out on the market for resolution.

  • Good Work Very Informative

What are your views on the 50MM Fixed Focal Canon lens?

  • ummm....examples?

too many lens reviews on youtube don't include examples and it irks me something rotten

  • You know there is no need to buy a canon lens hood for all lens hoods are the same.

  • Very Good What do you think about the CAnon T2I ?

  • Get the 50mm f/1.8 or the 50mm f/1.4 USM! Oh, and consider the UWA too! It's one of the best crop sensor lenses! :) I'm saving up for it :D

  • What's your thoughts on the EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM ?

It's the other choice to the 24-135mm for kit lens options with a 7D.

  • You didn't show the 17-85mm in the video, you said that the 28-135mm was the 17-85mm. LOL

  • Thats not what he said. He said the 17-85 looks like the 28-135 that he has. He most likely didn't have a 17-85 which does look like the 18-135 so he showed the 18-135. Listen and watch the video before you comment with negative comments.

  • Good call.

You're right... I don't have a 17-85mm, and yes, the 28-135mm is nearly IDENTICAL to the 17-85mm. So for illustrative purposes only, I demonstrated the 28-135mm as a likewise comparison.

Thanks for your paying attention to this video, I hope you have a great day.

  • A kitlens exists for a reason! Cheap yet functional obviously putting a simple kitlens on a pro level camera is.. well just don't do it.

Instead putting a great leans on a budget camera ...now that is actually an option.

  • hi, i got a sony alpha 200 on summer.. I am starting to work on a teen magazine at my town. I need some good and cheap lenses for sport photography and other party activity .. Please give me some info on what should i buy

  • 17-35 2.8

  • your fogot the canon 24 70... best general propose lens from canon

  • You're right, it is a FANTASTIC lens... However, it is not viewed as a Canon kit lens as stock with a camera yet...

  • right, but of talked about the 24 105 you could have mentioned the 24 70

  • what do you think of EF-S 17-85mm IS USM as a general purpose lens? Is it good? I'm planning to upgrade from my kit lens. Any thoughts or suggestion? Thanks!

  • canon's best general purpose lens, for the money, is definitely the Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens. Don't bother with the 17-85 if its for general purpose.

  • Did you say 17-85 f3.5-5.6? Isn't it f4-5.6?

  • Yea, you're right. At the time I was misled into thinking it was an f/3.5 :)

  • Thanks!

  • no prob

  • hey what lens hood should i get in 28-135mm?

  • EW-78BII I believe.

  • It should be fine for aircraft photography. However, be sure to get the Nikon version with the built in, AFS compatible motor and go ahead and get the APO version for additional sharpness if available.

  • hey phototeen,

i am looking at certain lenses with a good zoom for a nikon D60.

I viewed the review of the sigma lens and was wondering if it had a good enough zoom to photograph aircrafts.

    thanks.

  • keep on with your work..you're doing good!..

  • Thanks!

  • ok..so..here it is..your answer:

    it was an argument or a response to that guy..why nikon lenses?..i don't get it anyway..i mean..we're talking about canon here..not nikon..and i know that you sustain canon,not nikon..aren't you?..i'm using canon too..so i don't suffer nikon..first of all..their cameras are..i don't know how to say it..wrong made..i don't like them..i worked with nikon..and i can't compare it with canon..no, i can't..i think that nikon sucks in this case..sorry for confusing you

  • Thanks for explaining!

  • sorry for confusing you man:D..

  • That's fine, but could you try to elaborate on what you originally wrote?

  • nvrmind..the comment was for trw1996..first of all, nikon lenses are not that better..anyway..canon are doing nikon lenses..so what's the point..that you should use nikon lenses?..i don't think that..and you have very good lens..usm?..c'mon:D..

  • nikon lenses?

canon are doing nikon lenses..wtf man?..wake up..

  • ok, you really just confused me. What are you even talking about?

  • Oh I get it!!!

  • cant deicide with the 17-85mm or the 18-200mm got any suggestions?

  • Hey PhotoTeen,

Great video. I just recently purchased the EF 28-135mm IS USM f/3.5-5.6 online and its on its way. I am planning on using it as a "walkaround" lens that will stay attached most of the time. I would like to know, is this lens good enough to take casual group shots? I am wondering because the 1.6x crop factor makes the wide focal length from 28mm to 44.8mm.

  • Well, this is a great question. But quite honestly, I find it to NORMALLY be plenty wide enough. However, sometime in the future I would recommend buying a small sling type bag thats good for walk arounds and pick up either a canon 10-22mm or a simga 10-20mm for your ultimate group shots.

  • Lol. And why do you seperate metal mount from good build quality? Good video though...

  • this was a much better review than some of your previous reviews, keep up the good work!

  • thanks man

  • nice, are you using a new video camera?

  • no. is it a better quality video?

  • There also is the 5D kit lens in case anyone wanted to know.

  • Well, the 5D kit lens is the EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM lens. Which WAS included in the video.

    Regards,

  • my bad i stopped watching at 2 minutes...

  • smooth... jk :)

  • nice review even though I don't use canon.

  • haha thnx!

  • yep. you should do one on the nikon kit lenses.

  • I thought about it, I might in a week or so. I can easily get my hands on an 18-55mm and an 18-135mm...the 18-70, 18-200, 18-105, and 24-120mm lenses would'nt even be in it.

  • Great review =)
