  • I don't think that you are filling it right.

  • Tanks for testing our product again!

We have solved in 2011 all quality problems and issues of the Nexpod compatible capsules.

Nexpod has now a completely new capsule with is compatible with all Nespresso Machines. Visit us at our internet site!

  • This bloke is like me. Just stick with nespresso!! They rule, plus he gills his cup to the exact same point as I do! A true nespresso drinker!! Wooooh!

  • try coffeetweek refil capsule,

  • This is great promotion for nexpod.. NOT lol

  • Just a short mention: the Nespresso system is patented until 2012. The 70-odd different patents cover the machines, the coffee-blends and the capsules.

So anyway these "NexPods" are an illegal product. It doesn't matter if they work or not, you shouldn't be buying them :)

  • you gotta be joking..the official nespresso capsule appeared even lighter during the fill than the nexpod !

  • @GranulatedStuff Lighter? I dont understand what you mean I am afraid.

  • @sjefern

3:16 You said"...it..looks like it has milk in it" .. WHich I assumed was you thinking it wasnt dark enough (light!)

Compare to the Nespresso pod at the SAME stage 4:32.. the liquid is lighter (not as dark!) as the nexpod

Now I realise that the overall lightness with the Nespresso was because of the yet to settle crema..but still this just highlights the bizarreness of your critique.

  • @GranulatedStuff I said it looked like it had milk in it because it was light yes. But the espresso from the nexpod did not get much darker because it has almost no crema. Nespressos capsules are as you say light in the beginning, but then they turn black.

  • @sjefern

Yes..but am I referring to your comment at the time you actually said it on the video...restropsectively you are correct..but that doesnt make you technically correct in the video. I reckon you should have done a reshoot to avoid criticism for arseholes like me !!! :D

  • @GranulatedStuff

anyway.... people are way too obsessed with crema... I wanna know what it tasted like !

  • @GranulatedStuff It tasted like water with hint of espresso flavour. Not good :) But if I had continued to buy other blends and experimented with the grinding of the coffie-beans I am sure I would have ended up with a better result in the end. I did this "review" without any script of anything. Just wanted to share my feel of what I had bought.

  • @sjefern

Thanks.oh..nexpod actually instruct users on what grind to use. What I want to know is how much of the machines 19 bar pressure gets lost because of the Nexpod capsule being 'looser'

  • @GranulatedStuff I think I may have helped a little bit in that area. There were no such instructons when I posted this video over a year ago. Nexpod contacted me and informed me that I should have tryed with different grinds. They also asked what they could have done different. I said that they could explain better how to make a good cup of nexpod-espresso. They said that they would put it in the FAQ and maby post a more detailed instruction on the next bach of boxes.

  • @sjefern

Well ..there;s no hope for them then !

Just look at their official YouTube tutorial. It's pathetic. They say you should use a certain grind setting..but of course not all grinders "number 3 fine-ness" is the same !!

  • @GranulatedStuff I just saw it :) Well atleast they explain the different outcomes you may have with different grindes. I just grinded on the setting called "espresso" and that was a very fine grind.

  • I just my NexPods look a like ( CoffeeDuck for Nesprosso) today and it don't work at all. Is the same as in this demo. The small container just couldn't hold enough coffee to make a good cup of coffee. So, if you like good coffee, stop looking for any cheap solution. They are all out to cheat us. Used the Real Nesspresso capsulas. And use the proper coffee machine for your own special coffee bean.

  • @quektg The (illegal) CoffeeDuck capsules only work with Nespresso machines made in 2009 and before. In stead of going to justice to get those fake capsules off market, Nespresso adapted the machines so they'd become useless ^^

(don't ask me how they managed to do it, I'm not a technician)

  • Stop raping your Citiz - Nespresso! -what else?!

  • @sjefern: your "review" is biased. I didn't even know what nexpod is and I clearly felt you filled the first capsule too much. That's like saying your PC is broken because it doesn't turn on when it is not plugged to the electricity.

  • @almeidamike Well when you use the orginal capsules you notice that they are packed full. So it was natural for me to think that I should do the same to the nexpods.

  • @almeidamike The whole idea of espresso is that the water is forced through coffee under high pressure. If the coffee is packed too loose, the pressure will fall and your espresso won't succeed.

My guess is that it didn't work because the coffee wasn't packed enough. Don't forget that Nespresso-capsules are airtight and thus much denser than you will ever be able to do by hand.

  • es que madre mia q tonto eres... si llenas las capsulas tanto noral q no te salga el suficiente.... y además q te saldrá fuerte y asqueroso... madre mia q tontos hay sueltos por ahí...

  • You should probably thighten the coffe on the nexpod, however i don't like expresso, i like better the dolce gusto

  • hahahahahaha !!!! do another video showing u really put the same nexpod capsule......hahahahahahahaha

  • hahahahahahaha!!! is so good!!! this guy is NOT showing his hands all the time with the first capsules......LIER!!!......... how much nesspresso pay to u?.......you guys are so stupid.....hahahahahahha

  • I think that your miscela espresso doesn't work. A lot of roasted coffe doesn't work whit coffe machine....I've Gaggia G-107 model and I've some difficult with more miscela espresso.

  • try filling coffee ducks with your own fine even blend. they are re usable and you can have your favourite coffee.put in coffeeducks in google. its a dutch company and they are well helpful

i dont want to buy nestle products so this works a treat

  • NexPod SUX! I tried it once... It tastes SO BAD.

  • I wouldn't use hot water on plastic either because it's maybe some cheap shit and leaches out.

  • E quelli della NeXT pod non ci credono che fa caffè orribili! x via dei buchini dietro nn appropriati :(

  • thanks! very useful, i was going ti buy the nexpod... but now... i prefer the original capsule from nespresso

  • Not really.Wach the whole thing :)

  • because your tea will tast like coffee, the teawater goes tru the nespresso wich is used for coffeemaking and will give of flavour.

Using next pod to use coffee from your local store is indeed a good idea, if you do it in a good way, so the machine doesnt get damaged. I mean he could have good coffee right? Using next pod to get coffee from cheap cheap coffee is just silly.

  • is this better than the le cube version of nespresso? Im thinking of getting le cube. How does the size compare?

  • Le cube have storage for espresso cups. This storage also keeps the cups warm. My nespresso have a milkskimmer so I can make macchiato and cappuccino and other coffiedrinks. What is most important for you? Warm cups or the possibility to make coffee with milk?

The espresso tastes the same in all nespressomachines btw.

  • oh i see. I liked the le cube but it looked like it takes alot of storage space. I don't want a huge expresso machine, just a small one. So i just got the citiz:)

  • I think the "footprint" of the 2 machines is about the same. Le cube is perhaps a bit larger.

  • which ones are the good nespresso capsules? Do they have nespresso stores in europe? In the US, we can just buy the capsules them from the website.

  • I know that they have nespressostores in a couple of cities, but mostly we buy the capsules from the website as well.

  • @audisport you can order capsules online, in US they have 6-8 nespresso boutiques or you can always call the 800 toll free number to order over the phone.

  • If you buy a nespresso machine and discover the cups are to expensive, than you are very dumb. A impulse buyer if you may

Nespresso offers coffee from a sustainability program.

And a nespresso is not a tea maker.

  • I did not buy nexpods because I thought nespressocapsules was expensive. I bought it to try the different coffees in my local espresso-store....

  • @sjefern I am no expert, but have you messed with the grind of the coffee beans or the amount of coffee you are putting in those cups? I am thinking your machine is stopping because of pressure getting backed up possible causing it to shut off early. Just a thought!

  • A nespresso Machine is a hot water machine indeed, so why not use it to do some tea instead of heating a separate kettle?

  • Bleh. Nespresso makes a good coffee system and sells good coffee, and than people use nex pod or re use their old cups? How about you sell your nespresso and get a filter machine. This is just silly.

  • Why criticize? There are people which got a Nespresso Macchine and then discovered that the Original capsules are VERY expensive, that there is NO fair trade coffee or organic coffee or you cannot brew tea with your Nespresso machine.

NexPod allows owner of a Nespresso Machine to brew a very good tea, or to use the prefered italian coffee, the organic coffee or the fair trade coffe they want. And if you are ready to make some try youll'get a good espresso indeed out of NexPod.

  • Oh dear.

Did you know, that 99% of espresso's taste comes from temperature it was brewed at and grinding finesse.

I guess you never owned real espresso machine, because that's first thing you learn (by experience:)

Truth is, you either find expresso brand that is grained ok for you, or buy your own grinder and simply grind all your coffe to finesse you need.

  • A real expert first try, tastes and then criticize. You do not seem to have tried Nespresso or Nexpod. Or if you have, you didn't tell us . Bye!

  • I had the same results as in this video. Thought, if the extra filter is necessarry. Someone who tried without?

  • I have only tryed with the filter. I think i have read somewere that it can hurt your espressomaker if you drop it.

  • The filter is inserted to avoid the coffe powder do get in the cup. Besides without filter the coffe comes slowly out of the machine. If coffe powder gets in the machine just rinse the machine by letting water come out without capsules. There is no risk to damage the espressomaker.

  • It's all about the coffee man... why blame the poor empty capsules for the results??? Anyway NexPod is really unnecessary because you can refill and reuse your Nespresso capsules as much as you like. Just seal it with a small piece of Aluminum paper.

  • Sounds like a bit more trouble then a nexpod.... :) But I need to buy some other espresso and try to fiind the perfect grind soon.

Nexpods are just laying in my closet....

  • Yes, the nexpod are for the people who likes to experiment a bit. NexPod espresso quality depends also on the customer. If you are not ready to make some try, in order to find the perfect filling for your espresso, stick to the original capsules, they are really fool proof, good quality, and very expensive!

  • @sjefern There is no such a thing as the perfect grind. I tried refilling the NexPod capsules with coffee from a Nespresso capsule and it did not work. I guess the coffee Nespresso uses should have the perfect grind. Doesn't it?

  • @victorovies Haha. It really did not? Well then it seems that there is no hope to get a good cup of espresso with nexpod. I have given up a long time ago. Easyer and better to stay with nespresso capsules :)

  • @sjefern I just wish I had watched your video before buying those crappy NexPod capsules ;-) Hope other people can benefit from our experience. Anyway, no big problem, they didn't cost a fortune...If only all our problems and failures were like this!

  • @TheWToad Really? Does this really work ok? I considered trying this but I was afraid to mess something up.

  • @TheWToad Wron! You cannot refill the Nespresso capsules because each time you use them you get new holes in the back, thus loosing pressure and getting more and more water leaking. I have tried and I had that problem. the aluminium paper trick would do maybe once, then with nine holes or more in the back of your capsule it'll be just mess.

  • @victorovies

Nexpod Capsules doesn't get pierced in the back, they can be reused 2 or 3 times. In 2011 we introduced a whole new Design of the Nexpod and now it is working fine with all machines. Visit the Nexpod site for more information Tanks to all of our customers!

  • I have tryed the nexpods with a different espresso now. And i got something black out of it! Not as much foam as nespresso-pods and a bit weeker... So it is true what NexPod says in the post below. I guess I can try another espresso as well... Maby i will get the result I want in the end...

  • Tanks Sjefern for posting this comment. We are a young Company which try to make the best product possible, so any suggestions are welcome, being our product still in the beta test phase. Actually the grinding grade is capital to obtain a good espresso, so we will sure advise it on the next box and put a warning on a visible place on our website. I hope you will be satisfied with our product, because we are sure it offers you more possibilities to use your Nespresso machine. Tanks again, NexPod

  • i rather spend the money and get the real nespresso pods mate they are better in terms of cost because you buy quality instead of shitty store brand coffee and nexpod pod shit

  • Dear Sjefern, tanks for buying and trying our product . Unfortunately you put in the NexPod a coffee which is ground too fine and the coffee is only dropping out of your machine. If you take a coffe powder grounded at the right grade your espresso will be perfect. If you do not fill the capsule the espresso will be weak. So please try again with a slightly coarser ground coffee. We hope this will help.Of course if you are still not happy with our product we will refund you. Best regards,NexPod

  • You should perhaps have that written on the box or at your website? "Do not use to fine grounded espresso" or something like that? I just thougt any espresso would do. I did try with a different esresso now, and i got it to work. But the espresso is still weeker then the originals. Dont know it if is suppose to be that way, or if the grounding is still wrong.
