@qukarlz Im done with this. You obviously aren't serious in asking me anything since you won't tell me what your question is. Still don't know what you're talking about
I think some of the problems with our country is the influence religion plays on societies. While I respect everyone's religious freedom what I don't respect is when religious morals or dogma is brought into law. For example, in the state of Utah and North Carolina and Tennesse and Mississippi it is nearly impossible to get adult novelties shipped to you. That is because of the legislature's religious social stance which dictates the lives of everyone under them
This can be such a conflicting issue for me. One one hand there are sicko evil people out there who deserve either lethal injection or life behind bars. Then there are people in prison who are there because they committed a lesser offense which did not physically hurt anyone and because of the retardation of the law and the injustice system in our country some of these men are doing hard time when in fact they shouldnt be doing time at all. The problem with law is it lacks common sense
My cousin Joe was found guilty last year of molesting 5 boys. What he did was wrong, but he has the right to repay his debt to society & move on with his life.
However, Joe has suffered disgraceful abuse & mistreatment from both inmates & prison staff, leading to disciplinary problems & depression.
We are now setting up ‘Big Joe’s’ Charitable Foundation, which will highlight the plight of those who, like Joe, find themselves subjected to prejudicial treatment behind bars.
@TheJamblaster I think it is the place of the law to decide that. I guess you don't see cold blood killers as worthless but I think when a person kills another in cold blood the only humane punishment would be either death penalty or life in prison
Child molesters are the lowest of the low and get absolutely no breaks behind bars. Many of the violent inmates were molested as children and that is where their problems started. Everyone hates child molesters so good luck changing that. By the way if someone is convicted of child molestation wouldn't that be post-judicial treatment?
In all this game, the devil is losing and at the end will be accused of everything because GOD don’t want any rivals. Bottom line: If it requires hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep a person alive through healthcare so that they can serve their sentence, it will be done. The government has an legal obligation to keep prisoners alive and safe. A prisoner can waive healthcare and die or they can accept healthcare and continue to serve their sentence. Commit 1st degree murder and there isn't a reasonable expectation of being released from jail ever. Parole is a priviledge, not a right as I understand it.

If a woman is abused by her husband for years and then she snaps, in every other civilised country that would be taken into account, yet in California (not sure about other states) it isn't the case. There are hundreds of abused women in prison, yet in the 4 years Davis was governor he gave just 2 abused women parole and Schwarzenegger gave 16 women parole in 2 years. I'm not saying these women shouldn't be punished - they should, but the chances of them committing crime again is usually low.
The thing that kills me is the fact that inmates can get a College Degree, Bachelors Degree, or a PH,D in prison without having to worry about student loans. Now if that's not Back Assward, and Ass Backwards, I don't know what is.

Cheap, 1 bullet it used, no prison expenses, no chance of escape, and the world has 1 less scumbag. If they are sentenced to prison for less than life, then don't give them medical treatment! Let them truly suffer for their crimes! If they die, they die, they won't be missed.
Personally, I think the life sentence should be cancelled out. Eye for an eye is what I say. If they murder, then kill them in the exact same fashion as he killed the victim.
@HunterFDavis You must be pretty dumb, considering there are cases when people have recieved death penalty ONLY to have been proved innocent AFTERWARDS.
@supercoolguy4000: yeah but if america legalizes marijuana then the drug cartels will start to produce Meth, cocaine, Heroin in larger numbers. America already has a drug problem, no need for it to be the addicts paradise. Then again that money saved from sending people to prison for marijuana could be used to fight the cartels, but i doubt they will stop. Very tricky debate.
The ones kicked out will be the sickest, simply because they have more rights to healthcare while in the prison system, than out here in the "real" world. That is sad.
@onejanedoe2003 .........No I didn't create the universe. So I'm not God. But when society calls upon me to do Gods work; when I along with 11 others are chosen to sit on a jury and decide the fate of a murder should be to spend the rest of his life in prison, we mean it. If people like you don't like our decisions, then find another way to judge those who commit felonious crimes.
@chrissline77 No way that such a corrupt unjustice system is beheld by God! Just like those who insist on voting. They truly think they are making a difference, but sadly, they are aiding the criminals.
@onejanedoe2003 Courts of iniquity. That is what we have. How can you claim to uphold a system that commits plutocracy? Ahhh how humans feel so much better about their criminal acts, when condemning others.
@onejanedoe2003 ...........Wealthy people do go to prison. Bernie Madoff went to prison. The Enron executives went to prison. Robert Downey Jr. and Martha Stewart have criminal records because they went to prison. No system will ever be perfect. If you don't want to go to jail then don't commit crimes. It really is that simple.
I have a cost saving measure.....Take all these prisoners who have simply been a burden on the state all their lives, and put them on a remote south pacific island and occasionaly airdrop surplus medical supplies and outdated C-rations from the military. Problem solved.
My best friend died of breast cancer at the age of 48. Same job at H&R Block for 15 years, no insurance, no medical treatment. Prisoners and illegals get medical treatment at no cost to them. This is a crazy world.
$4,000,000 per annum to look after one of these scumbags, what an absolute joke. A couple of bullets for a few dollars would take care of the situation at very little cost to the taxpayer!
@Danjmurphy You're a complete dumbass. If they'd quit arresting people for harmless offenses like drugs, then it wouldn't be an issue. The U.S. only has about 5% of the world's population, but 25% of the world's prisoners. And if you believe in mass murder of prison inmates then I suggest you take your ass back to the bronze age, you'd fit in better.
@MarkBTW That $4,000,000 dollars is a lot of money. Imagine what you could do with it. It could help an awful lot of extremely disadvantaged people. 100 of these people makes 400 million US dollars. Imagine that being donated annually to a charity focused on helping the disadvantaged. Or children whose parents cannot afford to get them an eduction in certain countries, on top of other donations.
@Danjmurphy Yes, it is a considerable amount. But a safe, and HUMANE community has it's costs. This isn't 2000BC, we have morals, even for people who've done wrong. Here's a solution. Why not make prisoners work for the amount they cost the state instead of slaughtering millions of people?
@MarkBTW we have a hard enough time getting free individuals to do that, let alone the portion of these prisoners who are heartless killers. It is even harder when you factor in the fact that unlike free individuals, prisoners have to turn more profit, so as to pay off the costs of the 24/7 monitoring that most free individuals do not require. There definitely SHOULD be an attempt to make it break even though.
That was exactly the sentiment that Adolf Hitler made one of his ideals. Kill the sick, weak, mentally challenged and anyone else who couldn't produce. It was a stupid idea then and it remains that way now. Humanity is dependent on humane treatment of all citizens if they can produce or not.
@TheJamblaster I said nothing about killing the sick, weak, or mentally challenged. Of course they deserve special treatment. I'm talking about able bodies that are rotting away wastefully when they could be doing something productive.
@Danjmurphy Lol, the only reason it's a community issue, rather than a personal issue is because of the laws. The only harmful drug crimes are associated with selling it, not personal consumption (with exception to drugged driving which could be handled in the same manner as alcohol). Alcohol prohibition is the perfect example, you'd think our stubborn government would be able to learn from their mistakes.
@coolkoreangirl no matter how many people give this opinon the fact is unlike us they have there freedom taken away from them thus not having a choice to look after there own needs. You pay your taxes to keep these people in prison because you dont want them on your streets.
@coolkoreangirl So the ward dont look bad and so they keep making more money from prison investments. It is no mistake that the prison system has flaws; it was most likely designed to be the way it is.
@coolkoreangirl because they are in prisoned, you can't put someone in jail then live him to die of disease, it is unconstitutional(cruel and unusual punishment)
health care is a very basic right not a luxury country's who wont treat people because they have no money are in my opinion evil and cruel and put money before the care of their citizens.
@supercoolguy4000 If the wanna fight real crime like murder and child abuse they need to get rid of marihuana and alcohol as the first thing simply because most crimes are based on these substances.
@buckwats Yes criminal people will do crimes without alcohol but some will do crimes when they have taken alcohol or marihuana or other drugs. The kind of crime a person under influence of a substance will do/can do is attack or kill another person, not rob a bank.
The person who wanna rob the bank will do it with or without alcohol or another substance- thats it!
i feel like inmates should not get complete healthacre maybe 30-40 percent and they rest can be worked towards them doing something inside. im just glad they dont get an education in there anymore, because our system would b fucked up , how we are here struggling day by day trying to get an education and they receive this gift for free.
We don't get this type of medical care.. yet these people who have killed someone just cause do? What a fucked up system.. again fuck these damn people who think just cause their serving time for their fuck ups and yeah i feel sorry for those wrongfully accused.. but those who deserve it.. why do we gotta pay? What did we do wrong? holy shit america has one screwed up justice system so they got better living than us..? They don't gotta pay taxes or anything we gotta pay for all their shit?
We shouldn't have to pay for these morons and their huge mistakes just cause the damn judge sets them behind bars for life doesn't mean we gotta pay for their time fuck you people...
the state keep them there Cause the state get the money... I dont have to tell you that. but guess whos paying for it...Is us tax payer who have to front up the money and son that is not right for all I care.
The US incarcerates nearly 25% of the world’s prisoners and has only 5% of the world’s population. The correctional population of the US is around 7.2 million. That is roughly one American in 31 are in the system. The US is a classic poliece state.

americans are stupid lets give everyone a gun and hope no criminals get themand kill peaple and the prisons are not costing even 1% of wot its costing too blow up them afgan dust fiealds and binladens family and the seeks own about 10% off the contry usa
I think what people fail to understand is that most prisons are privatley owned. It's certain people making a shitload of money, money theyre not gonna want to stop getting. Nothing will change untill that is changed.
If we let this Govenment dissolve the Middleclass there will be more problems, not only will gangmembers be stealing, it will be YOU fighting for the last bag of Beans...
There is a revolving door in the California Prison System, obviously some one put that door in. If we keep putting money in our schools systems, there will be resources for a child to follow a dream, If communities and neighborhoods would stop trapping themselves inside their homes, talk to eachother, be outside, it would be harder for a predator to strike, take time to spend quality time with our children, maybe it would be harder for them to blow up and seek emotional stimulation elsewhere!
We have to get deeper in thought...We have to read in detail of all the laws we are influenced to vote for, we have to question, and really listen to what our Governer candidates speak on when it comes to Correction and Rehabilitation...There are a lot of issues that cause these problems...we have a high Population in the Prison system, maybe we should all look at the percentage of Murderers, and Drug Abusers. On Rehabilitation: do we know how many programs available from today & 15-30yrs ago?
Release whatever you want, but not the child molesters. There is no way a child could protect himself even against a sick old bastard. The tears of an old degenerate are not worth a young person's ruined life.
@v1das007 They should release anybody cause no matter what crime they committed they are costing tax payers lots of money oh and i'm sorry You were too weak to defend yourself as a kid i guess not all people can defend themselves and expect brave people to protect them.
@XManiiAkX Feeling harmed, pedo? No, I wasn't molested in my childhood. But I would gladly molest you with a knife for standing against children rights. The cost of a rapist's living in jail is much less then the harm they make on the society btw. It still costs too much? Let them starve.
@v1das007 Sorry but the prisons can't let them starve and you can't change that and i'm not a pedo i'm just making this fair and its okay if you got molested in childhood i bet it happens to people anyways People can change you're just like the other old folks.
@XManiiAkX You are such a naive little punk... But I wish you that you could stay like that. And no, I wasn't molested - I'm telling you that second time. I wouldn't need to lie on the internet.
If they're so unwell or disabled that they're not 'fit' to serve their sentence, let alone be a danger to society, then they should be released immediately. If you don't have a death penalty for murder, of if you lock people up for life for committing three felonies (which are not murder), then this is what you get. For one thing, these inmates are effectively getting special treatment that law abiding but unwell old people do not receive.
What's more, and this is what's being talked about in my own country, prisoners should work, productively and meaningfully, be paid the going rate and, if they are in for life, that money should contribute towards a pension and healthcare fund for when they achieve old age. There is no down side to that plan that I can see, apart from the initial investment of course, which would be large. But the long term benefits are worth it.
@jon1151 no, not really. More like get raped, beaten, stabbed to death with a bed spring, they might have nurse that is on standby, but they pretty much let you rot in prison. And your grandpa? Are you talking cancer or a cold? theyll admit him for a staph infection and some IVs, sure, but cancer? your taking up the time of doctors, nurses, many staff members, expensive equipment. Im so sick of this cookie cutter image of prison
@jon1151 They can't just let the prisoners rot. They have to provide them healthcare at least at minimally-acceptable standards. Besides, with "Coker" and "Kennedy", the death penalty is gone for the most heinous of criminals-- the raptists and pedophiles.
@Nickidewbear with the penalty system its much much more expensive then to have them sit in jail all there life, because of the trials they have to attend trying to get ride of the sentence , lethal injection itself its pretty expensive. so in the long run were wasting the same amount of money. smh
@jon1151 yes, and the convicted murderers, rapists, child molesters and car jackers get better medical than most Californians. All this at a cost of BILLIONS to Ca. taxpayers.
No insurance most likely, America isn't such a great place for the uninsured. Healthcare is not free in this country which is BS imo.
I've actually heard stories of some tough individuals commiting petty crimes so they can get thrown in prison and get some kind of treatment for their ailments.
3) It's simple, but nothing will change, because the prison system people love their big budget as much as the police etc. and if they had to execute the murderers and start chasing after real criminals instead of arresting kids with some drugs, it would make them very unhappy!
2) You have to use the death penalty more often - when people know, that for killing somebody they will get another life sentence, they are not really disturbed! It's ridiculous when you give people more then 1 life sentence!!! How are people supposed to be equal before the law if the person on the outside for murdering sb will go to jail and a lifer will get yet another life sentence - basicly his/her situation will not change at all?!!
Don't listen to that confused woman, who wants YOU to pay billions of dollars every year for her vengeance.
Their are simple rules to cut the prison population numbers in the future:
1) It's the family who are responsible for bringing up children, not the police, courts or prisons, so if they didn't teach a child that drugs are bad, it's none of your business! Let them do and take what they want when they are adults as long as they don't hurt anyone else apart from themselves, it's their choice!
Why do woman's prisons always look so much better. Why do woman get to wear normal clothes while the men have to wear jumpsuits? More proof of a double standard.
doesnt matter if they are "rehabilitated" or not hell once the jobs see that "yes" beside the criminal questions on the applications..they wont hire them..I dont support killing but how can abused women get life for killing their husband but you can join the military and go kill someone who has never done anything to you personally, legally?oh well too many angles to look at prison life..I just know I'll never go! I have a cousin in prison for molesting his own nieces and he can stay in there!!!
Whether they are in Prison or out in Society, if they can't maintain themselves they are still a cost to the Taxpayer one form or another. This Documentary confused me as to what point they we're trying to make. Yes, healthcare for these aging individuals is expensive. I guess, the ultimate question is shouldn't it fit the crime of the offender? The debate for this could be huge. Letting someone out to die, after 30 or 40 years inside, seems kinda pointless.
@XboxLiveCrazzy I guess medical treatments which the prisoners receive are better than ones which lower-middle class receives. I'm sure American tax payers are forgiving. In my country, there is a national health insurance plan that applies to all citizens. So every person, include foreigners, can receive good medical treatments.
These are the kinds of people that should be put on the anticrime messages, not some slick 20 something thug serrupticiously encouraging gangs and drugs.
Fuck life in prison, if you are guilty of murder of an innocent person, rape, or a pedophile or any type of fucking sick fuck you should be taken outside as soon as the verdict is read and they should blow the mother fuckers head off in broad daylight, not spend hundreds of thousands of dollars so these shit heads can live and eat 3 meals a day and healthcare
faggot tax payers just wanna bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch. but god forbid you should so much as make a fucking phone call to protect your rights and high tax payments.
how 'bout some of you people take a lesson from the People's Republic of China? a 29 cent fucking bullet from an AK-47 and you've earned yourself 4000000 dollars to spend on education, infrastructure, and healthcare for the people who actually deserve it.
@lpfader69 oh yeah man...they keep talking about their human rights, that they have the right to live and shit but my question is if criminals have the right to live then why don't their victims also do? Damn I mean it makes no sense! They can kill and do whatever they can and still get away with it? It's not they human rights the government should be concerned about, it's our human rights. By the way man that's some awesome English in there , you're English is fucking native man.
well my thought is if u commit murder like straight up murder or more than one offense of murder u should put to death trust me im not being cruel its the basics tho we cant afford it most of them dont deserve it if i kill someone today cold blood muder not self defense i dont wanna be in prison i wanna be put to death cause its the right thing to do not cause i want to be put to death but cause i deserve it
that little old lady, Harriet Salarno, says letting people out of prison is bad because they cannot find jobs in the community. she might consider the lack of jobs to be the reason a lot of prisoners are currently in prison
prisons shit imagine being locked up with ppl you hate for years..ppl with a chip on there shoulder wanting to pray on any weakness..racial hate everywere..then you got the fucking goof gaurds..man no place for this boy..i fucking hated it..thank god we got dope in there...........................
i don't care how much it costs to keep these ppl in there. No matter how many surgeries they have, they're in there for good, so it don't matter, if i was one of them, id refuse service to die...but they're stupid.

Let them truly suffer for their crimes! If they die, they die, they won't be missed.

Very tricky debate.

onejanedoe2003 1 month ago
@onejanedoe2003 .........No I didn't create the universe. So I'm not God. But when society calls upon me to do Gods work; when I along with 11 others are chosen to sit on a jury and decide the fate of a murder should be to spend the rest of his life in prison, we mean it. If people like you don't like our decisions, then find another way to judge those who commit felonious crimes.
chrissline77 1 month ago
@chrissline77 No way that such a corrupt unjustice system is beheld by God! Just like those who insist on voting. They truly think they are making a difference, but sadly, they are aiding the criminals.
onejanedoe2003 1 month ago
@onejanedoe2003 Courts of iniquity. That is what we have. How can you claim to uphold a system that commits plutocracy? Ahhh how humans feel so much better about their criminal acts, when condemning others.
onejanedoe2003 1 month ago
@onejanedoe2003 ...........Wealthy people do go to prison. Bernie Madoff went to prison. The Enron executives went to prison. Robert Downey Jr. and Martha Stewart have criminal records because they went to prison. No system will ever be perfect. If you don't want to go to jail then don't commit crimes. It really is that simple.

Jvergakis 3 weeks ago
@Danjmurphy You're a complete dumbass. If they'd quit arresting people for harmless offenses like drugs, then it wouldn't be an issue. The U.S. only has about 5% of the world's population, but 25% of the world's prisoners. And if you believe in mass murder of prison inmates then I suggest you take your ass back to the bronze age, you'd fit in better.
MarkBTW 3 weeks ago
@MarkBTW That $4,000,000 dollars is a lot of money. Imagine what you could do with it. It could help an awful lot of extremely disadvantaged people. 100 of these people makes 400 million US dollars. Imagine that being donated annually to a charity focused on helping the disadvantaged. Or children whose parents cannot afford to get them an eduction in certain countries, on top of other donations.
Danjmurphy 3 weeks ago
@Danjmurphy Yes, it is a considerable amount. But a safe, and HUMANE community has it's costs. This isn't 2000BC, we have morals, even for people who've done wrong. Here's a solution. Why not make prisoners work for the amount they cost the state instead of slaughtering millions of people?
MarkBTW 3 weeks ago
@MarkBTW we have a hard enough time getting free individuals to do that, let alone the portion of these prisoners who are heartless killers. It is even harder when you factor in the fact that unlike free individuals, prisoners have to turn more profit, so as to pay off the costs of the 24/7 monitoring that most free individuals do not require. There definitely SHOULD be an attempt to make it break even though.
theredscourge 2 weeks ago

That was exactly the sentiment that Adolf Hitler made one of his ideals. Kill the sick, weak, mentally challenged and anyone else who couldn't produce. It was a stupid idea then and it remains that way now. Humanity is dependent on humane treatment of all citizens if they can produce or not.
TheJamblaster 2 weeks ago
@TheJamblaster I said nothing about killing the sick, weak, or mentally challenged. Of course they deserve special treatment. I'm talking about able bodies that are rotting away wastefully when they could be doing something productive.

@MarkBTW And also, drugs offences are not harmless. Look at the trouble it causes in world with gangs etc.
Danjmurphy 3 weeks ago
@Danjmurphy Lol, the only reason it's a community issue, rather than a personal issue is because of the laws. The only harmful drug crimes are associated with selling it, not personal consumption (with exception to drugged driving which could be handled in the same manner as alcohol). Alcohol prohibition is the perfect example, you'd think our stubborn government would be able to learn from their mistakes.

TDKSRIVA 2 months ago
We have to get deeper in thought...We have to read in detail of all the laws we are influenced to vote for, we have to question, and really listen to what our Governer candidates speak on when it comes to Correction and Rehabilitation...There are a lot of issues that cause these problems...we have a high Population in the Prison system, maybe we should all look at the percentage of Murderers, and Drug Abusers. On Rehabilitation: do we know how many programs available from today & 15-30yrs ago?

If they're so unwell or disabled that they're not 'fit' to serve their sentence, let alone be a danger to society, then they should be released immediately. If you don't have a death penalty for murder, of if you lock people up for life for committing three felonies (which are not murder), then this is what you get. For one thing, these inmates are effectively getting special treatment that law abiding but unwell old people do not receive.
Surely, that's not fair or socially just.
ludocrat 2 months ago
@ludocrat

@Nickidewbear with the penalty system its much much more expensive then to have them sit in jail all there life, because of the trials they have to attend trying to get ride of the sentence , lethal injection itself its pretty expensive. so in the long run were wasting the same amount of money. smh

3) It's simple, but nothing will change, because the prison system people love their big budget as much as the police etc. and if they had to execute the murderers and start chasing after real criminals instead of arresting kids with some drugs, it would make them very unhappy!
Have a nice day!
wolnyobywatel1 2 months ago
2) You have to use the death penalty more often - when people know, that for killing somebody they will get another life sentence, they are not really disturbed! It's ridiculous when you give people more then 1 life sentence!!! How are people supposed to be equal before the law if the person on the outside for murdering sb will go to jail and a lifer will get yet another life sentence - basicly his/her situation will not change at all?!!
wolnyobywatel1 2 months ago
Don't listen to that confused woman, who wants YOU to pay billions of dollars every year for her vengeance.
Their are simple rules to cut the prison population numbers in the future:
1) It's the family who are responsible for bringing up children, not the police, courts or prisons, so if they didn't teach a child that drugs are bad, it's none of your business! Let them do and take what they want when they are adults as long as they don't hurt anyone else apart from themselves, it's their choice!
