Bob Marley was "unsigned" artist for a long time, then he was "signed" but the producers royally screwed Bob & Wailers for a long time. Then they started their own label. Then the break came from Island Records, But Bob kept Tuff Gong records, his own label going.

as a unsigned artist myself i 100% have to give you props and i agree that when you're not a mainstream artist ppl dont know you and down you like you're not a real artist or something but they the mainstream artist whom is fucking up the music world they praised them...because they're rich and famous but when those unsigned hypes blow up then they praise the ground you walk on it doesn't make sense but all i say to dem is dont let nothing stop u and keep on at it dont matter what...

ok. Why do you want a record deal? You don't need a deal to make a living performing music. Get yourself a band and start gigging around town. You don't need a record deal to party like a rock star.
