@AvocadoRogue if you heard the "universal migrator" both parts, it is revealed that the last human alive used the "dream sequencer" in order to send visions to the past and warn the humanity about this, but as we all know, it wont work, humanity will extinct anyways, so he goes further in the past, even before the big bang, when the first soul was born, he joins the first soul in a travel in the space to reach the earth, the first sould couldn't make it and he then becomes the...
Upon a bit of reflection, I do not think that this is the "end" however. The impression this gives me, is that this "migrator soul" is something like a newborn "Forever" (similar the vocalists), and from his human experience has 'answers' that the others do not. For this reason, they seem to be competing to persuade him to their sides, either to create new life and try again, or abandon the pursuit...
@AvocadoRogue remeber the "Forevers" are from "Planet Y" they are inmortal and has almost unlimited knowledge and power, like "Into the Electric Castle" they can manipulate space and time, and this "migrator soul" is just a human using the "dream sequencer", although it is an interesting theory, i don't think it's totally true, besides, what do you mean with "answers"?
@richtier What do you mean by 'totally true' - of course it isn't, Arjen made that up... PLEASE, people, don't start talking about this as if it was real. It's great music (probably some of the greatest tracks ever), but it's not historic fact or anything like that.
i heard about this band in holland, its a dutch band, so that was really great, they have a lot of really good albums, with great singers featuring in them. i really love this band, and espicially this song
holy shit.. 8 vocalists and every single one is amazing... just the range that they have is astounding. each and every one of these guys is better than most other people ive heard. seriously, i think my ears just came.
The pop genre is driving itself into the ground, people are getting bored, moving back to the good music like prog, jazz and classical music. Soon the pop music companies will go under and this will be all thats left and the world will be a better place.
People wouldn't steal music and ruin the industry if the music was good like this!
Absolutely, I learned about Ayreon by youtube, but got all the albums :-) and Star One. I don't mind spending 250 euro on music of this amazing quality.
Anneke van Giersbergen was The Gathering's vocalist. Great band that one, I didn't recognize either, and her voice is amazing. =)
I'm so glad I found Ayreon while I was 12 (I'm 13), and I'm sure I'll cherish these masterpieces until I'm gone. At the pace music industry is going, I wonder if in the future there will be any great and quality music such as Ayreon, even though for me every music has it's own beauty. Ayreon is an amazing Project, and they are simply Over Epic. =D
but someone that young would be litsening to things quite crap (i used to litsen to linkin park when i was your age, and i said people that didn't like them are gay for that, now i feel gay for saying that)
Turned 14 last month, still addicted like before. :P (and by some twisted coincidence, I'm listening to Guilt Machine at the moment. after weeks of not listening to Arjen's projects or similar... o_O)
"but someone that young would be litsening to things quite crap" Hence why I am glad I found Ayreon before crap mainstream took over. ;)
I like Linkin Park, but I respect others' taste in music, even if sometimes it bothers me, which unfortunately happens a great lot.
unfortunately and fortunately, the greatness of the progressive genere is that there are NO bands that sound alike (except when dealing with mathcore, although some bands are quite unique)
every band is in the same genere, no one plays the same shit of the other, that on of many reasons why i like it, but the problem is like when you say "i wanna hear something similar" you can't find it
you can hear something similar to nightwish, morbid angel or metallica, but not from this
Make us whole.. Migrator soul.. Follow you home.. Complete the Circle.. We must survive.. Restore our lives.. Always be sure Complete the circle!! Send back visions..Into the past.. Of war and decay.. I lear the final cries..... We ARE the future.. We are the pain.. Complete the Circle!!
I would like to thank this song for making me a metal fan. That is all.

Seems so... depressing, huh? But what's this business with the 'migrator soul' and completing the "Circle?"

I'm not sure but do I hear Nightwish's vocalist at the end? If so, she sure as hell didn't spend a lot of time in the studio for one line!

Is it just me, or are the singers better on this album than the Human Equation? ( except LaBrie is awesome and he's on the Human Equation)

The guy at the beginning is the mighty Jørn Lande!
