looked for this movie on amazon----not available---you have one for sale? Surprisingly Good sound from Vitaphone---I always associate that process with early thirties flix
Wowee!! I don't know if it was the age of the clip, but those audience members dancing were going so fast as if they were on speed. All of them. I would've collapsed after dancing that fast, lol. Prima did speed his music up, as usual, but those people!!. Fun post.
This is great fun! Only Prima could pull this off - in attempting to poke fun at this old Scottish folk song, it's jazz itself that takes a hit, but somehow no damage is done.
Maybe that says something about Jazz, that it is that strong, that it can even laugh at itself.

I find it strange that a scottish song is done so well so far back, and so jazzy, bloody brilliant from start to ...

I find it interesting that the sound on this film was recorded by the Vitaphone process.
The thing is that I find the sound in this film to be of better quality than his recordings of the time.
Anyway, great performance!

I didn't put in on you tube though. I wish I knew how to put things on here. I'd have so much music, and movies it would be ridiculous.

Thank you for a classic clip, HalDee. I sent a link to my favorite Scottish friends. What a treat.
